I am a mid-century fan so right away these fit the bill. I won’t buy any seating without sitting in it first so I went to store and was pleasantly surprised. They are not sink in comfy chairs but they are perfect accent chairs. I am 5’5” and my husband is 6’ and we both are comfortable in them, not too low or narrow. The blue color could be described as a medium seafoam.

Purchased 2 chairs. Step number 9 on instructions failed. Bolt head number 100498 would not be long enough to use the twist bolt. Would repeatedly break. Reported to IKEA. When try to tighten the bolt people may not be aware it does not bolt properly so the down the road the chair could fail. Awaiting note from IKEA when a new improved batch has been manufactured. Love the style of the chair.

So I was looking for an accent chair for my home office. And I happen to see this one on YouTube. The guy reviewing it reviews nothing but furniture from IKEA. During his review though something didn’t seem right and the way he was sitting and putting things together was keeping it from being sturdy and just wobbling and making noise. So I went against his review went to IKEA and purchased this chair and several other things. When I got home I put it together properly tighten everything properly and this chair is ROCK SOLID! It’s extremely comfortable. I highly recommend!

We had been looking for chairs for our living room for a few months and could not seem to find a style that we could agree on. When we were in Ikea to buy a kitchen table and chairs we saw the new Ekenaset chair on display. As soon as we saw it we both agreed that this was the one. A test sit confirmed the chair was comfortable and we wanted to buy them right away. Unfortunately it was not in stock so we had to reserve them online and make a second 140 km round trip visit to the store to pick them up a week later. For some reason these chairs were not available for delivery in our area.
I saw this chair at my local IKEA and was smitten. Very clean design and surprisingly comfortable. This chair must be in hot demand because it is often out of stock. Had to stalk the site to find when stores near me got their meagre restockings. The build was actually a little more complicated than usual for IKEA, not in the instructions, but in the fit. Some of the bolts require you to compress the foam to attach. Made me question whether or not I was doing something wrong. The final result looks great though and feels solid. These chairs need a similarly designed ottoman! Please consider it IKEA.If the upholstery/cover was able to be replaced, I would like it even more, but the fake leather seems durable. 10 year warranty!
This armchair looks great. The external chair frame is made with real wood, which isn't common for Ikea products. The cover fabric seems durable. You won't see any nuts and bolts unless you look underneath the seat. The comfort level of the seat and back cushion is good, but not great. I also purchased the Finnala loveseat sofa from Ikea. The removable seat inner cushion of the loveseat has a layer of pocket spring units, making the seats exceptionally comfortable—soft yet supportive due to the pocket spring units. I wish the seat inner cushion of this armchair also came with a layer of pocket spring units.
Bought this for our lounge. Easy to assemble. Looks more expensive than it is. Good quality. And comfortable too, giving good back support for reading etc.
I really like the look of this chair but unfortunately it is really uncomfortable after about half an hour of sitting. The base has a wooden strut right under your tailbone when you sit back in the chair with your back against the backrest. If you look at how the base is constructed it has a nice sprung section but you can't sit on this and receive back support at the same time. Poor design.
The chair is nice to look at, but if you use it occasionally (had this chair for about 8 months) for watching TV or laptopping, you'll see that the finish wears off where your arms rest. It'll quickly look like an antique this way. So if you are into this sort of aesthetic, or if you are the kind of person who buys chairs that are not meant to be sat on, this is for you. Everybody else might want to look elsewhere. I'd also say the arms are somewhat too thin to the point that they are actually uncomfortable to rest your arms on (I'm 6'0'' and slim). Overall "style over substance" comes to mind when thinking of this chair, as well as "harmful": I shudder thinking that this wood finish was likely absorbed through my skin.
I'd rate this chair 5 stars for style and comfort and price. BUT, the brown stain on the wooden arms of the chair came off in less a month. If you clean the arms gently with wet paper towel, the stain come off. So even though the rest of the chair looks brand new, the arms look like it's quite old. Very annoyed as the chair looks great otherwise. When I bought dark brown stained furniture from IKEA 5+ years ago, the stain have not come off even today. But this chair -- the arms were not properly stained. IKEA -- make sure to do your quality control on staining wood. Does IKEA sell brown stain paint anyone know?
