I love this bed! It is very stable and you can put the matrass high up (I purchased the firm Anneland matrass which is also amazing). The bed has empty space below which you can use to store boxes- very practical. I am a petite female and managed to assemble the bed by myself so its not very difficult :) There was one point where it would be better for two people to hold it simultaneously, but it is also manageable solo :) Overall I absolutely love this bed and sleep like a princess in it.

I just set this up today. It looks beautiful but it only comes with 2 thin metal braces that attach from the center to the sides of the frame but nothing to hold the frame square and keep the head and foot board from flexing. My old queen bed had 4 to form a diamond. Bracing all directions together. This bed only holds side to side. I would love it if I could get more braces and screws to do this. The side rails and head and foot board brackets already have predrilled holes for them.

My sister bought this bed to put in the guest room at our new house, and it's been a nightmare to deal with. We pulled both boxes 1 and 2 from the aisle/bin that was listed for the queen-sized frame, but discovered after putting it together that we'd gotten the full-size frame instead.Rather than disassembling the bed, we simply exchanged the queen-size slats for the full-size slats and bought a full-size mattress instead. Guess what? The slats don't reach all the way to the bottom of the bed, and the mattress is too short. All we can figure is that we ended up with a full-size headboard and footboard and queen-size side rails. To top it all off, the very thick mattress won't even fit inside the frame completely...so it's both five inches too short and about two ... This is a great bed frame! I purchased this in a queen size with the Lonset slats instead of the Luroy slats. Take it from me - it makes a HUGE difference! The problem? The bed frame assembly can be difficult, but the slats are very, very frustrating! It took 2 people about 1 hour to assemble the bed frame - not too bad. But it took about 2.5 hours to do the slats! It's not challenging so much as it is FRUSTRATING and very, very tedious. But in the end, it's well worth it for the wonderful bed frame! It looks great and I sleep better than I have in years.
Got this for a toddler. Took about 4 hours to put together. Originally used the Lonset slatted base but as others had mentioned, it pushes the mattress up too high. We ended up using the included base instead. With a 12.5” mattress it’s about the height of an average bed. There are two height setting for the mattress. The storage underneath is perfect, and I liked how you could choose which side of the bed to put it on. Can’t speak for longevity, but it’s exactly what we were looking for.
I didn't know until the bed was laboriously assembled that IKEA beds are made to be shorter than standard US mattress sizes. When I put the queen mattress I already had in, it barely squeezed in. There was no room to put a fitted sheet on it or otherwise make the bed. I had no choice but to have a custom mattress made, which then is slightly smaller than a standard sheet set. In the end I am happy with it because it is a beautiful bed and I don't need the 3.5 inches I lost from the new mattress, but IKEA should make it very clear before purchase that their beds will not fit a standard US length.
The Idanas bed was easy to put together, solid when finished and very good looking. All the hardware was included as well as and special tool required. One note, be careful to match the support rail settings to the mattress being used. I originally installed everything in the middle set of holes and had to lower everything to the bottom set of holes because the mattress height plus the slats used made the overall mattress height too tall.
DO NOT BUY. This was the worst bed I’ve ever bought. The slats that hold the mattress up fall out DAILY when my husband and I even sit on it. We feel that we can even turn in our sleep without the thing falling apart. The footboards and headboard fall off constantly as well. I would rather place my mattress straight on the floor than on this piece of garbage. I bought it before I moved into a new place that had space for a bigger king size bed so now it is way past the return date and I’m out $500 on the worst product I’ve ever bought. I am now putting this piece of garbage at the street and will be buying a $50 metal frame off Amazon instead.
This is a sturdy bed and we are happy with it. However it took a long time to assemble and I really dread the day we might have to take it apart to move it out.We bought this about 3 months ago. The one drawer on my husbands side of the bed always rattled and today I could not close it all the way. When I inspected there was this little ball point pen sized small shock absorber. I do not think the instructions will tell me where to put this back. Could Ikea tell me where this goes so that when I get someone to take off the mattress and slats that I can reinstall it ?
Was excited to get this bed and it looks very nice. But, there was some kind of defect near the right corner at the end of the bed. It looked like someone patched it up but not with the original color/paint, but rather with some kind of shiny acrylic/plastic paint hurriedly done. For a brand new bed, it was already damaged upon arrival. Very disappointed with IKEA's quality control. Should not sell bed with defect to customers!
