I chose this floor lamp because it's taller than most and features a reading/task light. FYI, only the uplight is dimmable. The reading light doesn't dim but I find it adequate. As other reviewers have mentioned, the light color is more yellow than bright white. Not a deal breaker for me but something to keep in mind. The electrical cord is black(wish it were clear or white). The reading light pivots on a ball joint AND swivels to face up towards ceiling or down for reading . Finally, the swing arm is adjustable from right to left. I set this next to my favorite reading chair and love it so far. I havent experienced any flickering or other issues so far. In my opinion this would fit most decor. Highly recommend!!!

This lamp was fantastic for a few months. Then, like most of the one star reviews, the main top lamp stopped working. There is no replacement for it which is insane because it just screws on easily. Please IKEA, make a replacement. Not very environmentally friendly. I still use it for the small reading lamp because I don’t want to throw it away. Otherwise it’s a great design and could be a lifetime lamp if you could replace the top. It’s not cheap like some of the other lamps sold here and it’s esthetically pleasing. I’d be more than willing to pay for a lamp replacement repeatedly (it definitely didn’t last as long as they claim it should) if that was an option. Please listen to your customers and fix this! Thank you!!

I bought this lamp even though I had read some reviews saying that it becomes obsolete quite fast: I wanted to believe IKEA has better concern for the environment (as if). But indeed, after around 6 months of life, the main lamp starts to just flicker like we're on Stranger Things. The reading lamp isn't ajustable so that just won't save the mood. But hey, if you're into surprises this might be the lamp for you: "what kind of lighting might I get now?" And you can't replace any bulbs. I'm appalled, and writing this to the everlasting flickering light of my *not so cheap* ikea lamp.

Nice design with good lighting ~ the top light bounces of your ceiling and is dimable. This is also great with the lower lamp as the head is adjustable. Perfect for evenings if one wishes to read whilst the other prefers viewing the tell-a-vision. Do put it together as directed and do not over tighten the tubular connecting parts! If it were built a little hardier that would be great. Naturally, the product would cost more. But I get it! It's all about the balance affordability and quality. And as always ... Kudos IKEA on another winner! I'm still giving this lamp FIVE STARS all the way!
For starters, this lamp looks amazing, it really does. However sadly in a few year's time these are likely to die and be destined for the landfill. Ikea rates the bulbs at 25,000 hours, but at full strength, used for 5-6 hours a day it's not going to last you more than a couple of years.. if something doesn't short before the bulb actually dies. Not having a replacement LED module (or even entire top piece) is extremely negligent towards the environment on Ikea's part. This will absolutely not last 20+ years and I hate the fact that I have a lamp that literally dies every time I turn it on. I already had 1 die but fortunately was within my return period.This is basically the fast fashion of furniture accessories. Ikea, do better.
So this is a great lamp. I bought it twice and have had no issues with it. I was literally here to buy two more lamps and some replacement bulbs because at some point it will be needed — only to find that ikea doesn’t have a way to replace the bulb. What?? Who thought that was a good idea for a lamp? So I won’t be buying more of these lamps even though I genuinely love them. They don’t take up a lot of real estate, give off plenty of light when needed, and are very adjustable if you want something directed or dimmer. Please make the bulb replaceable IKEA, thank you.
The lamp looks very nice. Very pleasant and bright light. It lit up half of the room! As other reviews have noted, the base isn't wide enough for the lamp to be stable. Could live with that but the dimmable switch/upper light developed a fault within two weeks and the light would flicker before becoming stable. Sometimes, needed to press the dimmable switch to stop the flickering. Had to return the lamp. If Ikea fixes the quality issue, would buy it again.

The base is not very wide and so it is a bit unstable and I would not recommend putting it in a high traffic area or to have it in your mind that it should be moved at all once it’s placed. I wish the reading light was also dimmable - it’s not. It’s quite bright and disrupts my husband when I stay up to read. The adjustability (angle) of the reading light could also be better. Two months into ownership and we’ve not had any wiring issues reported in other reviews and hope it remains that way. The top light has a dimmer and gives a very soft light for an entire room. The space our lamp is in is a kitchen, dining, living and extra space. Huge. This soft upper light is great for dark winters or having on but don't wanna disturb a movie. The reading light is one solid light. It is plenty bright enough to read with. It rotates/moves. It's a different kind of moving arm/rotation, took a bit of getting use to but nonetheless, great. It looks modern, slick and blends well. we had bought this lamp and within a few months the top main light faulted. We returned and exchanged for a new one. Again the same thing happened. We still have the lamp as the mini reader lamp still works however it does not light up enough to cover the living room like what we wanted out of with the top light.For the price I would expect better. And clearly it’s an issue with the product quality control and not a one-off since we got an exchange for a new one with the same issue.
