Really disappointed by the quality of this product. I’ve owned my fair share of Ikea products, but this might be the last. Panels splitted open while hammering the back nails on multiple occasion even using the Ikea “tool” for positioning. Nails were dead center and no way near an edge. Cardboard would have made a better wardrobe. Really can’t think about where the 300$ went with product quality being so low.

When unboxing this item, there were panels that were already scratched and damaged. Instead of returning, we chose to put the item together, as most damage/scratches were inside and wouldn’t affect the function. During assembly, more pieces of the particleboard broke off with little to no force. This was unfortunate. If assembling, treat it like glass.

Sliding doors seemed like a great idea but one track groove was narrower than the other and the slide wheel therefore doesn't run smooth and sticks. Have tried to stretch the track open but it still sticks and the door doesn't close at exact right angles. I checked the level on the wardrobe frame but it's perfect so the alignment to raise and lower the doors is what is affecting a perfect closure - leaving an annoying opening when it's closed. Will try to re-align but the sliding door is flimsy and with the track sticking it's just dodge on dodge.

I order this online because IKEA is 3 hours away and I don’t have a car to be able to get the product. For the price it’s worth it even plus the 49$ shipping it was still worth it compare other same size product online. The shipping was smooth and no damages because IKEA use private Delivering companies. I love this Rakkestad cabinet/closet. It’s really pretty. I wish they would get the extra shelves I need in stock. They should always keep those in stock as I need three of them. It will be a perfect closet as soon as I get the shelves. We have relatives that come to visit for weeks at a time. We have it upstairs in our bonus room with a fold out couch bed. When I get the extra shelves it will be able to hold more clothes, shoes and blankets all hidden away. I would really recommend this product.
Love the look of the wardrobe, but it's not meeting my needs. This is because I bought it for added storage, intending to use it with the extra shelves you can buy. However, those shelves have been unavailable for over a year just about everywhere in Canada (except Calgary and Coquitlam) and are unavailable online. I expected that they'd be restocked since they were advertised along with this product, and continue to be advertised. However, they haven't been restocked. Which means this wardrobe, which takes up a lot of space, is less than useful for me. Very frustrating. Disappointed with Ikea!
Just the right size for my needs, and decent quality. The dark colour makes it hard to see what's inside, but adding an IKEA cabinet light with door sensor solved that. I do wish it came in a paler wood colour, not just white, black, and essentially-black.The optional extra shelf was not available at the time I bought this.
I purchased the Rakkestad online and had it put together by an expert level task master from task rabbit. While putting it together the installer told me the holes weren't aligned properly on the main inside piece. He mentioned he had been seeing this quite a but as ikea shifted and added suppliers to deal with supply chain issues. He drilled some new holes and the wood splintered in 3 places. I figured it was an easy fix for ikea - boy was I surprised! First I went to the store and spoke to customer service. From there I was referred to the in store resolution team (gone for the day). I left 5 messages for this team - not a single call returned. I called ikea corporate customer service and was told task rabbit should have stopped assembling and had a replacement ... Now- regardless of what task rabbit did or did not do - ikea still has the same problem, a defective unit with the same solutions. The only thing the customer service team and the customer service supervisor would do was offer to pick up the entire, completely assembled, defective unit and deliver a new one - in the box. I could then assemble it myself. Exactly how is that good customer service? I expected so much more from ikea. This was their problem to own and task rabbit has the same parent company. I will think twice before purchasing from ikea again.
Recap: Deep enough to hang big sweatshirts. Mounts securely to studs in the wall. Hinged Doors work well and look good. Material is pressed particle board.I bought this to move my clothes from the guest room closet to my bedroom. I was afraid this would not be enough on its own so I also bought the 2 door version and together side by side they do the job nicely. The packaging the wardrobe came in was minimal and I was concerned I would find damage but mine was in good condition. Assembly went smoothly however I did give myself plenty of time to put it together.
This is a very basic and relatively flimsy wardrobe from Ikea. I was hoping for a bit more of a solid build. I also ordered the Komplement hanging bar to go inside of it and the metal bar is too short (?!?). This is thoroughly annoying because only wanted this wardrobe to hang my clothes, and it can't even do that. The sizes of Komplement hanging bar are all too short or too long for this wardrobe. Very odd.
