I bought this bed 2 years ago, I did not know that the screws will loosen up because I put it together twice in the two years. I finally settled into my current home and let me tell you… yes, it starts off sturdy, but after a while it gets so squeaky you’ll get the worst sleep of your life. Every movement makes a a creek. SO BE AWARE you will have to tighten the screws every year. Of course ikea is quality and I’ve definitely had an old fashioned sleep over where 4 of us hop on the bed to watch movies and play video games.Style wise: omg it’s gorgeous, classic, timeless even. The white is off, not bright or dull, just a warm white. Doable, but kinda frustrating.

Got this in a queen size for our guest bedroom. We have not had anyone use it yet so I can’t speak to the squeakiness of it. But I love it! I got a 4inch wood box spring off Amazon and a 12inch mattress (that inflated to 11inches). The height of everything worked out perfectly. The mattress comes under the foot board and headboard’s horizontal bar maybe 2inches or so. I didn’t want the mattress being higher than the footboard, but I didn’t want it too low either because we have taller nightstands. The 4inch box spring is perfect, I did not want the box spring showing. The measurements was about 4.5inches so I’m glad I went with 4 instead of 5inch box spring. It was easy to put together with 2 people and the quality of the metal is very nice and came intact. Great ... MoreGot this in a queen size for our guest bedroom. I bought this bed and absolutely loved it. I think it looks absolutely wonderful in my room. It was pretty easy to put together myself, and is very sturdy. I’m a large woman, I took extra care to tighten all the bolts, and I never heard a squeak out of the frame for the 3 weeks I slept on it. Unfortunately, the frame is too narrow for my my non-ikea memory foam mattress. I used all might to squeeze it in, but that made my firm mattress unbearably hard. The mattress sits down in the frame about 6-8 inches, and the amount of work required to pull my mattress out and stuff it back in to change the sheets was too much. I have a high quality mattress that I don’t want to replace, which unfortunately means I will be returning the bed.

I've had this bed for a few weeks, and it's been great. Easy to put together, sturdy, and doesn't squeak. I had one of the wooden storage beds before and even a light breeze would make that squeak, but not this one, which is hard to find these days in this price point. I use a 6in box spring that lifts the base of my mattress about even to the top of the side metal slats, and a 9in mattress puts it just under the horizontal bar of the headboard, and the footboard still sticks up about 2-3in. I personally prefer the height and look of the box spring. No need for the wooden slats, box spring fits perfectly on the little ledges. 9in clearance under bed for storage. Wish there was more, but this was the best bed for all my needs. Should be easy to dismantle and move. ... MoreI've had this bed for a few weeks, and it's been great. I am in love with this bed. I bought it in a Queen, the white version. It is beautiful and sturdy. Seriously love the bed itself. But be warned that the instructions to put it together are a joke. If I knew how stupidly hard it was going to be to put together I would have paid the extra $ to have it put together for me. It would not have been nearly so hard to do if the instructions were not complete garbage. They make no sense at all. I have never been so frustrated trying to put together a piece of furniture.
I own 11 vacation condos containing a total of 34 beds. I wanted to move to a platform bed design to avoid having to purchase both a mattress and box spring for every bed. Also, the box spring was visually exposed without a bed skirt. I first tried the Leirvik design from IKEA. They looked great but had a design flaw. The headboard and footboard were a two piece design stablized with two small screws. There was no way to get the bed stable and not to squeak. I then came across the Sagstua design. While the physical appearance of the Leirvik was more attractive, the Sagstua did not have the design flaw. The footboard and the base of the headboard are a single piece and extremely sturdy. While the physical appearance of the Leirvik was more attractive, the Sagstua did not have the design flaw. The footboard and the base of the headboard are a single piece and extremely sturdy. The sole problem I have ever experience is that I had some teenagers piling on the bed and bent a support beam but these and the slats can be kept as extra replacement parts. I give the Sagstua a solid 5.
I ordered this product because I needed a new bed frame and I loved this style and price. I ordered and made plans to remove my old bed frame based on the timing of my delivery. When delivered I discovered I never received the support beam piece. I reached out to customer service who said they'd said me a replacement piece but that shipping would 7-10 days. This means I have to sleep on a mattress on the floor until it arrives. I want to leave this bed a good review but I'm very dissatisfied with my current situation. I will come back and update my review after I receive the piece I need to actually be able to use the bed.
Sturdy, beautiful bed!! Cheaper than similar beds I looked at while shopping and probably sturdier, too, based on reviews I read of others. Relatively easy to put together. I did it myself, but I have also put together many Ikea pieces over the years. I was really happy to find something my daughter loved and I could afford!! I used the option to pick up in my city as we don’t have Ikea here. It worked like a charm.
Beautiful bed, looks even better in person too! It’s a timeless look. After tightening all the screws (though avoiding stripping), the bed squeaks at the tiniest TINIEST movement. I once had hiccups and I couldn’t get any sleep because the bed would vigorously squeak. Additionally support beams sit on the head/foot board and are not secured - so when I slid a box under, it rose the beam and the head/foot board collapsed onto me grateful that my cat wasn’t underneath. Because the bed was so pretty and assumed mine was defective, I recommended it to my sister who is also small build. Since she got it, her bedframe has also been non-stop squeaking. When reading reviews how the bed is sturdy and quiet, I’m genuinely curious how people were able to achieve this. Love the ... MoreBeautiful bed, looks even better in person too! Assembly can be easy. No need for instructions if you watch on YouTube.Does not squeek at all. In fact, I'm very impressed on how sturdy the frame is - and it is Squeekless.Make sure the rails are fully over the screws and the rails are pushed fully down (attached to the head and foot boards - two screws in each corner). You must the tighten the screws snugly with the allen tool. This can be tedious (not much room in the slot opening) but must be done to have a squeek free frame. There you have it. VarsĂĄgod (You're Welcome)... EdS
