DO NOT BUY! Set up is impossible!!!

Deserves negative stars!!! This bed is IMPOSSIBLE to install. Parts are defective. In Step 7 they give you Tubular metal pieces to hammer into holes that are too small so you could be the incredible hult and still not be able to hammer the pieces in. If by chance you do manage to hammer one of the pieces, the chance that they will go in straight are 0.0001%. Garbage product with defective parts. In the end, had to install the bed skipping step 7. No doubt the bed will likely collapse in a few months since it doesn't have the proper stability. IKEA could give me the bed for free and pay me and I would not go through the 6 hours of frustration I went through trying to install this ! IKEA you can do better!!!

Do not recommend for larger couples

My partner and I have slept on a Tarva bed for a few years. The first one lasted about 1.5 years until the bottom part of the headboard split. The second one (sent to us on warranty) is on its last legs, about to split in the same spot. The slats are also always slipping around, and I was never able to get the metal cross frames to hold to the bed - the screws didn't fit well on either model I purchased. So, I wouldn't recommend for larger folks (we are between 200 and 250 lbs each), but tbh I don't know if I would recommend it to smaller folks either. Maybe good as a spare bed that doesn't get much use. We're probably going to shop elsewhere since Ikea doesn't publish weight capacities on their beds - it's hard to make an informed choice.

Good bed - but people need to read descriptions

Happy with this bed. Especially for the price. Anyone thinking that the metal slats are meant to support the mattress haven’t read the description or followed assembly instructions. You have to buy the slatted bed base LUROY. That said, I,m not sure why IKEA doesn’t just include it, but they seem to do this with several beds I’ve bought from them.Decent cheap bed. I like the plain wood and ultra simple styling.

Horrible purchase
20 August 2022

Have had the bed for 3 months and it is completely broken. It broke under my pregnant wife and ikea is going to charge us $129 just to return it. Did you hear that?! Sent a pregnant lady a faulty bed and are going to charge her to come get their trash!!! Don’t buy this frame if you plan on sleeping on it. Don’t even buy it as a dog bed, your dog might get severely injured. Straight up the worst purchase of my life. I will tell anyone that will listen that IKEA is selling garbage furniture just so they can gather as many $129 pickup charges as they can. Did I mention my cat sleeps under my bed? IKEA almost killed my cat… worst company ever.

I've had this frame for 5 years!
14 March 2023

I originally bought this bed frame in late 2018. It is 2023 and 5 years later and this frame is still alive and kicking. It's survived 2 disassembly's and assemblies from 2 moves and is still holding up. I've had to order spare parts due to my own negligence on part of the assembly, but other than that, this product is still serving me well. I plan to get the same bed frame when I upgrade my mattress. Would recommend 10/10! Just follow the instructions and ensure you tighten all the parts correctly and you will be fine!

Looks nice but you have to buy your own support
12 August 2022

The bed looks nice and was fairly easy to assemble. Though when I was at IKEA I asked the employee if all I needed was the bed and the support frame and he told me yes, that is all I needed. However, once I built the bed there was zero support other than the beam and 4 flimsy, 1 inch wide rods that snapped immediately when I got into the bed the first time.... So you will need to buy your own slacks (aka support) to hold the mattress up.***My (cheaper and more efficient) solution:**** just go to your local home depot, lowes, lumber yard, whatever... get 8 thick pieces of lumber, have the worker cut them down to 6.25 feet (for queen), and use those as the support beams. They are WAY stronger, no risk of getting the wrong size (as you'll see many store bought slacks ... MoreThe bed looks nice and was fairly easy to assemble. Cost me $25 for all the lumber and cuts, compared to $50 slacks on amazon, or the IKEA slacks that are always out of stock and break easily.

Please do not buy this
6 March 2023

Please don’t buy this bed just because it’s a cheaper option. When the bed was fixed, middle bar is not at the same level with the two sides. Because of this middle of the slatted base is become lower than the other two sides. It sags in the middle. You can see in the picture that the support boards are beveled which leads to the middle sagging. Until today I thought its a problem with my mattress. When i changed the mattress i notice its the problem of the bed. Very disappointed. When designing a bed please think about the quality not just the appearance.

THE worst

Bought this being hopeful that it wouldnt be to bad to put together. Boy was i wrong. I followed the instructions as best as i could i had to go back a few times to fix what i did and when i got to the point of the silver hollow tubes i was like are you sure they go here so i started hammering the tubes in and i slightly missed and hit my thumb it was so bad that the nail separated from my finger and there was a lot of blood. That could have been avoided if the instructions were more clear and i would have put the tubes on the other side of the wood instead the page did not show to flip the head board around. a week of not being able to use my hand and the bed sat unfinished also because the tag at the store did not say there were more pieces to grab the beam and ... MoreBought this being hopeful that it wouldnt be to bad to put together. Very attractive
24 November 2022

We just put this bed frame together for our Kindergartener. It has a very tidy and attractive look. I love that it is actual wood and unfinished; it doesn't have much smell to it except a real wood smell, which is very nice in a world of MDF and particle board furniture! This frame is such a good value and our daughter loves it. It did take some time to put together, but was not overly complex. Reasonably sturdy. I definitely recommend.
