So far the frying pan seems good, it did loose its good look after original seasoning, as expected though. But what I didn't expect is that it would become more concave and not completely flat. The handle also makes it difficult to lift since the pan is heavy. But beside that - it does what it's supposed to, easy to clean, relatively non-stick, quick to heat up.

I bought it and tested it for over 3 months now and I can say I love using this pan! I'd suggest if you buy it to watch some videos on how cast iron works and how it needs to be cleaned (avoid soap, make sure the pan is sealed with oil etc).Price/quality for this pan is just great. I'm a fan!

We needed to replace a cast-iron pan that had cracked. Really like this one. Not as heavy as our old one which is far better. Being black there won't be any staining either. Washing nicely. Bought the lid too which is light, fits great and is clear so you can see the food when it is cooking. Overall, super happy with our purchase. Worth the money.

This is thinner than our Lodge and Cuisinart skillets, but thicker than our enameled Le Creuset dutch ovens. Smoother finish than our Lodge. Works great on our induction cooktop. I didn't think I'd use this so often but have owned it a couple years now and it's on regular rotation. It's the best size for cast iron/broiler pizza (no need to buy a pizza pan now), fried rice for a crowd, shaking beef, pancakes (I stopped shopping for a separate griddle). Wonderful sear and char on high heat, or lower heat nonstick cooking.
Seasons well. Cooks well. Is weighty. Love everything about it. It’s beautiful and works just as well as my more expensive cast iron. IKEA - PLEASE MAKE THIA IN A 9”!!!! Please please please!!!
Despite following to the letter the instruction to prepare the pan (4h in total in the oven!), it got rusty every time we used it. I returned it after 1 month and was told that rust is not a reason for claim, so no refund. I left the pan at the counter. SEK500 wasted. This was the second pan I bought from IKEA (previous had a teflon coating that felt appart), it was the last. I will from now on invest in real quality.
I bought this pan to replace/addition to my cast iron pan. I bought the 9.5 inch pan which is not offered now. I had to leave a review here. I was pleasantly surprised, this even heats up faster than my cast iron. Food is cooked evenly and tastes better. Thank you IKEA for the best carbon steel pan.
I have prepared the frying pan exactly according to the description, but the first time we tried to fry an egg all the egg stuck to the pan and we couldn’t even remove the traces by hot water as it was recommended to use only hot water. Then we used soap, again didn’t work. We tried to contact the ikea service to make a return since it was only 5 days from purchase but they tried their best to bring up a condition to be able to make an excuse. After talking for a while we got tired of this and said ok it doesn’t matter do not bother yourself to find a way to get away with the return policy. The ikea guy answered yes because it is difficult to accept a return for this special pan!!! That’s it! We got back home with a useless pan which was not even cheap! I get it, you may not be used to cooking with a carbon steel pan, but they are wonderful once you know how to use them.1) rather than doing the oven method alone, I recommend using the potato peel method. Fry potato peels, plenty of kosher salt and plenty of grape seed oil over medium heat until the peels are very crispy. Let cool down, wash this hot water, dry and coat with a drop of oil. These will become VERY non-stick. The oven method is good for seasoning the outside of the pan, but doesn’t make the intior as non-stick.2) When cleaning, don’t wait to clean, don’t soak. If something is stuck, scrub with kosher salt and a paper towel. Rub with a drop of oil before putting away.3) if you get a little rust, don’t worry. I was initially drawn to this cast iron pan due to its appealing design. Following Ikea's seasoning instructions, I took care to season it three times. However, I've encountered persistent issues with food sticking to the surface. Despite careful cleaning, I've noticed lingering iron oxidation stains. Moreover, wiping it with a cloth results in noticeable discoloration. Regrettably, I must say the quality of this pan falls short when compared to other reputable cast iron brands.
