I usually brew the medium roast Classico but occasionally get the Intenso to change things up. Sometimes I mix the two. Like the Classico, the Intenso roast produces a non-oily bean, somewhat deeper in color (but not a French roast), with a bolder flavor. Also like the Classico, it's delicious. Illy's coffees are the most reliably excellent coffees available and my favorite to use in my espresso machine for shots, cappucino or lattes.

I used to drink Illy coffee when I lived in Italy and I was happy to find it here too. The convenience of having a subscription and not having to worry about running out of coffee is perfect for me. I started with ground coffee and now that I have a new coffee machine that uses both ground coffee and beans, I tried it with beans and the quality and flavor are just as outstanding. The best feature of this coffee is that it is never bitter.

I typically but several types - both ground and whole bean - which keeps for EVER! This way I always have it on hand and reorder before I'm into the last container. So easy and with the specials - I get to try something new each order - great service all around.

Every year at the holidays I purchase these and as expected within 1 grind my machine jammed and I had to tear it apart to clean out the oily bean mess.Support did assist me in selecting and replacing with Medium Roast - it's good but noticeably different taste and smell from what I used to purchase before.I know you use many suppliers but that's your job to help customers sleect the best Illy product for an application. This coffee and a few Spanish coffees sold only to cafes are the best. My wife prefers the Illy darker roast; I prefer the medium roast. Both roast are very well balanced without even a hint of burnt taste or acidity. I realize that people raised on filtered coffee may think that Illy is very strong and will put their body (and mind) in gear. In this case, start with American and continue your education through Latte Macchiato, then Italian style Cappucino (volume less than 6 oz) and finally to espresso. Try ristretto with a bit of cold water on the side to become a Roman.
I don’t know why I can’t buy Intenso Whole Bean coffee at the grocery store. I have been using the pre ground and recently bought a machine that grinds and tamps. Now I have to order the beans. It’s the best coffee, it’s just not convenient to have to order all the time.
I have a subscription for illy Intenso whole bean coffee, dark roast. We are on a 6 week interval which is often too long a time frame. At those times we click "send now" and within 4 days the coffee is at our door.I might add that we often stay at the M Resort in Las Vegas. The Baby Cakes coffee restaurant serves illy starting our day as we would if we were home.
Hi, I would consider myself a regular drinker of fresh coffee. I usually buy whole bean coffee whenever possible.I have tried 8 O'clock, Folgers 1850, Dunkin Doughnuts, Tim Hortons. and different organic brands.I would like to state for the record that Illy Dark Roast coffee beans are a waste of money. They charge twice as much as other brands and the taste is not that great.I was expecting to be thrilled by a great coffee taste but instead, it was weak and not very noticeable as far as coffee taste goes. I have had better cups of Maxwell House ground coffee as compared to Illy. Save your money. The only redeeming quality about Illy is the metal can it comes in. You can use it to store other brands of cheaper coffee beans when it's empty.
