Then I had to reset my laptop for it to appear as a folder. Now my laptop doesn't even recognise it or pick it up. Pay a little more and get a good one.

This is a terrific little product that is exceptionally easy to use. Need some photos off my old digital camera so I could share them to family and friends and this made it super easy.
Been using successfully for 5 or 6 weeks. Does the job of instantly allowing the reading of the SD and Micro SD cards we use fairly frequently. Maybe we struck a good one??
I bought this a few months back when I upgraded to a computer that did not have in build SD Card Readers. Quickly tested it and all seemed ok...Until today. When a full size SD card is inserted it comes up as write protected. Makes the device pretty much useless if you want to use it for updating maps on built in car navigation systems... Had to pull out my old computer. Don't buy if you want to write to full size SD cards... BTW - it does write to micro SD cards - go figureBuild quality is very low as well
Bought this a few months ago, couldn't get it to work on my old laptop. Thought it was a problem with the laptop. Didn't worry too much until I bought a brand new laptop, and it doesn't work on that one either. Totally useless, cheap build (but not cheap to buy!), badly designed product. Taking it back for a refund.
This is my second one thinking the first time around was just unlucky but no. This one is falling apart and just like the past one, the wires came out and will no longer read my SDXC card. Do not buy this product
Was going through some old USB sticks while moving recently and stumbled upon some old SD cards!! This USB attachment was perfect as I had MicroSD and SD cards and there was no need to buy another reader for each card. Found some great memories on there too!
1st one I bought lasted about 1 year of moderate use before it got so sensitive that if it is bumped when plugged in at all, it ejects it straight away. Bought a 2nd one recently -absolute waste of money. Worked properly about 2 times. Now very unstable to use - nothing wrong with my USB port... Will be investing in a better one this time - I recommend you do the same!
