Almost perfect briefcase backpack

Here's the list: 15" laptop, folder with A4 pad, gym kit (Tshirt, shorts, socks, small towel, Garmin watch and heartrate strap - no shoes, they are in my locker), laptop PSU, 350ml box of nuts and raisins, 0.5litre water bottle, ultralight Patagonia down jacket in 1l osprey sack, first aid/repair kit, compact umbrella, cotton sling bag, 2000mah battery pack, HDMI converter lead, wallet, coin purse, staff pass, gum, 2 snack bars, apple, banana, thermal gloves, VDU & sunglasses in cases, pen and pencil in case, magazine to read on the metro, waterproof cover, Tilley winter rain hat, business ... MoreThis is a brilliant organiser briefcase backpack. What would make it perfect is bigger hip pockets. I can squeeze in the iPhone 8plus IF I cut the interior lining, and DON'T put a case on the phones. I can then access them when on the move and tell if they are ringing as they vibrate through the shoulder straps. My working days involves moving between meetings on different floors in two separate buildings, so I never unpack, just live out of it all day. Making these pockets big enough for a big iPhone in a case would be a massive plus. I've never dropped a phone accessing it or putting it back when wearing the pack, but it means the phones never have a case on them. All round you wont be disappointed.

I no longer need to carry my laptop in a sleeve. The only criticism I have is that the zips don't go far enough down the sides of the bag, and given that it is quite narrow, I sometimes find it difficult to retrieve items toward the bottom, or peer in to see what I'm trying to find; because it simply doesn't open as wide as I'd have liked. Let me start off by saying i really do like this backpack with how amazing it looks and has alot(but not too many) compartments/pockets. Also the fuzzy fabric in the little pocket in the main compartment and in the laptop compartment were an unexpected by wonderful surprise. Unfortunately I underestimated the size of my laptop (asus g752 17" gaming laptop) and like most other backpacks ive tried it fits until you try to zip it up. Its tall and wide enough but the top edges curve in just enough at the top to where i cant fit the top corner with the fan vents. But again this is just my error. But even though it wont (completely) full-fill its purpose for my buying it originally it will be an incredible replacement for my now 10yr old swiss gear backpack. Had that thing from 6th-12th grade and a year of college and just this last year has started to flake on the bottom and the handle is tearing. If this pack holds up i will definitely come back to you guys for the impeccable style. (regardless of my oversized laptop

Great bag that fits everything you need and more
7 June 2016

Bought the bag on a Black Friday deal and so far I'm very impressed with it. Great quality and build construction. As far as faulty zippers go, only time will tell, but so far so good. Lots of organization and pockets, possibly even too much for my needs. As the saying goes though, "better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it." This bag is pretty large and able to accomodate more than enough for the daily commute and is an excellent bag for travel. It'd be a great companion to have on the plane next to your feet with easy access to all your essentials. All in all, I highly recommend this bag, especially if you can get it for a deal like I did, just keep in mind it's rather large . Great bag, beautiful design but lacks stuff from my old bag
7 June 2016

I bought this bag as a replacement for my old Incase Sling 17" which I've had for about 10 years now. The bag is great. It has all the pockets that I look for and expect from an Incase bag. I've used Incase bags over the last 12 years and found that their pocket organisation is my favourite part of their bags. A few problems which I found with the bag is that: 1) I'm currently using a Retina 15" Macbook Pro and I put it in a Incase Neoprene Sleeve when I travel. The slot for the laptop is quite tight for this to fit so I have to shove it in when I travel. 2) the side zip pockets under the straps where you small items can be a bit tight to put in items and sometimes quite hard to put things in. I put my Clipper card in there and it gets quite fiddly when I return it after getting off the BART. 3) I would've loved for it to have a more ran resistant outer cover like my old bag. Although I understand that this is because of the design, and the zips have a rain resistant zip covers to stop water seeping in but the front zip is not water resistant at all. 4) The straps provide great support and are comfortable and quite soft when carrying a full backpack. Would've loved to see this with a sternum strap, it sometimes tend to slip off my shoulders when I carry a full bag and wearing jacket. Another small issue I would love to see so that the Incase site is a bit more intuitive is the volume of the bags. When I was looking around for this bag the website only says .04 which is quite confusing. So as a result I had to look at other review websites to see the volume of the bag. Just in case you were wondering, this bag is 21L. TLDR;; Pros: Bag is great, lots of pockets. Great support, straps comfortable. Cons: Laptop compartment quite tight and hard to put in when your laptop has a sleeve. Side pockets can be quite hard to get to. Wish it had more rain resistant materials. Website didn't state the volume of the bag and had to research online to get info. No it had a sternum strap.

So much pockets and ideas for organization is virtually great and very surprise how much you can fit in the bag and still very light to carry around. I live in Hawaii and it works great for our conditions. Able to go to the beach and work with ease since I can fit all the stuff I need for the day. I loved when it came to traveling, able to get things packed into and organized all through the bag for my access and got a lot praise for the organization the bag provided from TSA (How funny is that). So if you want a backpack with a lot of pockets, this is the bag for you. I brought other brands, but Incase is the very best brand for me.

Hands Down.

I was looking for a new tech bag for my new macbook pro. Was deciding between the ICON or the CITY and ended up going with the CITY for multiple reasons. The CITY, to me, had much more logical pocket placement for organization. It had more pockets to actually organize small pouches compared to the ICON. I'd say that the ICON has more small & medium pockets, while the CITY has more medium & large pockets to work with. I like to compartmentalize all my gear into smaller pouches, and the mid section of the CITY bag with all its medium+large sized pockets allows me to do that. The mid section also has a hidden zipper pocket that carries my toiletries (eye drops, tissue, band-aids, mints, EDC blade). The front side of the pack has three large pockets; bottom pocket carrying my Macbook Pro charger + extension, middle pocket carrying my iPad Air 2 + pens + calculator+screen wipe+etc., top pocket carrying delicate valuables like my sunglasses+phone+keys+etc. The largest zip section carries the laptop in 360 padding along with books, notebooks, folders, papers, etc. The two small pockets located on the left and right back panel carries my earphones (left) and my battery pack (right). The zippers are smooth and the zipper pulls are quiet. They don't make any noise as I walk around town. As for cons, or rather thoughts/upgrades, I wished it had removable sternum straps...but maybe INCASE will add that on the next model. Also, I wished it had a handle strap at the bottom base, it would be nice to be able to grab the bag from the bottom, especially when loading and playing tetris with other bags in the trunk for a snowboarding trip. (That's kinda nitpicky though, cause I wish all bags had that LOL). I've had the pack now for almost 4 months, and it's held up well so far. Only time will tell I guess... God I hope this pack holds up, I really REALLY like my bag. A truly well thought out pack. Glad I took my time to research+watch videos/reviews and went with the CITY bag instead of the ICON. I've gotten plenty of compliments already!

Perfect work backpack
25 May 2018

I love this backpack so far. It is spacious enough for a change of clothing and shoes, actually fits my 15.6" laptop, and looks professional. I purchased the heather khaki, which I think is best for its neutrality. I particularly like the top front panel pocket. It is lined with soft fuzzy material -- it's a great place for stowing phones, wallets, sunglasses, etc. I also like the handle on top -- it's sturdy and wide, so doesn't cut into you when the backpack is filled with heavy items. I shopped incessantly for the right work backpack (I went through over 10 packs), and finally landed on this one as the one.

Really nice bag!Very spacious with a laptop area and tons of organization.Pros:-Very spacious, more so than the liter rating on the spec sheet would suggest.-Love the laptop area. Has a very soft lining in the dedicated laptop sleeve and that pocket opens nice and wide and has tons of room for folders, notebooks, tablets or even another computer. The protection seems to be very good.-The Main compartment is also spacious and has tons of organization pockets and even a zippered pocket. My only gripe about this pocket is that your folders or notebooks can get caught on the pockets when trying to put them into the space.-The top quick access pocket is huge and lined with soft material-The organization pocket on the front is very nice and well laid ... MoreReally nice bag!Very spacious with a laptop area and tons of organization.Pros:-Very spacious, more so than the liter rating on the spec sheet would suggest.-Love the laptop area. Makes you have to fumble around to get things.-No water bottle holders.-Tiny side pockets that seem worthless to me. They should have made these into water bottle holders.-Wish the bottom were made of a tougher water proof material. Would be a nice touch.-Not sure about the quality of the materials. I do not think the zippers are YKK and the heathered grey material looks nice. I will be curious to see how it holds up over time.-No chest clip. usually this is not a big deal, but if I am wearing a slippery jacket the straps can tend to moveOverall a very nice bag that I like way more that the Icon.
