Inkjoy Pen - Papermate - Gel - Medium 0.7mm - Black

Might have gotten a faulty product, but…This wasn’t one of my favourite InkJoy pens. For one, the ink would start to fade the moment you didn’t invert the pen. I often keep my pen in my pocket for easy access while I work, and unless I had stored it upright, I couldn’t expect the ink to flow boldly when I started writing. When the ink does flow, however, it has a decent writing feel on most paper types. The grip of the pen is not comfortable for long writing sessions, but for small hands it offers a secure hold. Two stars for ink flow and design.

Newell Brands, a pioneer in mediocre pen design, has fully embraced its disregard of quality control and attention to detail with this product. The inkjoy skips, smears, leaks, and dries up before it’s competition. The plastic clip feels cheap and snaps with a slight exertion of pressure, and, most aggravatingly, the click mechanism completely falls out of the pen when you attempt to unscrew it. These would be serviceable if they costed around $1 per unit, but in November 2022, the standard price sits at around $1.70. At this price, poor design and quality cannot be ignored. The pen I recently tried out exceeded my expectations. Its smooth ink flow made writing effortless, and the fine tip allowed for precise lines and neat handwriting. The comfortable grip made long writing sessions a breeze, without any hand fatigue. Additionally, the pen's sleek design added a touch of sophistication. Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed with this pen and would highly recommend it to anyone in need of a reliable writing instrument.

I first bought the 10 pack at Walmart then after falling in love with the pens, I purchased the 14 pack on amazon with extra blue and black pens. This is my new holy grail pen (till I find another one to replace it).It comes in 14 colors, I love how bold the colors are, so bold that even the yellow shows very well and does not fade. I got the 0.7mm medium point, and the 0.5mm fine point. and 1mm bold point in black (for daily bullet journal use). But I honestly prefer the medium and bold point. I feel like they both glide on paper much better than the fine point. I love them because I write a lot for school and while I'm studying, and it was very comfortable even through 8-12 hours of studying.These pens remind me of my first love of gels, the Zebra Sarasa pens which are medium point has a nice variety of colors and dries fast as well. The only difference I noticed with the Zebra Sarasa was that the colors are not as bright and bold as Papermate. I also compared it to the Pilot G2 as they have claimed that it is better (I only had 3 G2s from a very old purchase) and Yes as a former user of G2 it glides better, dries faster, it is bold and not streaky (that's one thing I hate about G2s they write streaky) It is not more comfortable than the other 2 brands though they all have a comfortable grip.Overall, I give these pens a 9/10 they do bleed a bit (i tested on my Leuchtturm1917 Medium A5), they do not leak or write streaky. They have a significant amount of ink and are refillable (although I cannot find refills on Amazon).

Better than expected

I am a flair pen fanatic. However, when I saw the back to school sale for these I just had to try them. I’m so glad I did!!! I’m using them more frequently than my flair pens. They don’t bleed through my planner. I can see through the pages on my moleskin notebook tho. It’s not terrible, and doesn’t completely ruin the page. I sometimes write on both sides, but sometimes I choose not to. It doesn’t bleed through completely. I’d say they show through the paper just a tad more than flair pens do. If writing on both sides of your pages is must have, then think twice before taking this leap. It’s still good quality and vibrant colors. I won’t turn back. These a great!

Fun to use, great design

I waited until I had rewards and a coupon in my wallet when I bought these, and am for the most part happy about the pen pack. After swatching, I saw that the light green, light magenta, and grape-purple colors are identical to inks found in Pilot B2P and BIC Gel-ocity gel pens, so if you've invested in those, you're getting repeat colors but in a finer nib. Everything else is a great selection of colors. I did get some trouble with the darker magenta where I had to do a bunch of scribbling before it wrote smoothly. And even then, you're going to get a bit of feedback because of the nib size. The design of the pen is smooth and smart-looking, definitely the more attractive additions to my gel pen pouch. Good pens for the money

Reasonable price for the number of pens although color shades of some pens were very similar. There was no red included, and black and brown could easily be left out.The pens write smoothly, and the point is relatively fine although it could be even finer. Since I just got the pens, I don’t know how long the ink will last.Overall, a good pen for the money, especially since the package was on sale.Based on only having the pens a short time, I would recommend them for anyone who likes to have a little fun writing with different colors of ink.

Great Pens… As long as you don’t get a bad batch

I’ve bought 3 sets of these at this point. They are GREAT for note taking/documentation for charts after emergency calls. The first two packs lasted much longer than expected considering they are used for 12 hours 5 days a week for work. The first two packs lasted a good 6 months with that much usage. Naturally, when the 2nd pack started to go, I bought a 3rd cause I love how these pens write.I must have received a pack from a bad batch this time because at least 1/3 of the pens won’t write after about 2 hours of intermittent note taking/documentation for my charts. It’s like the ink is dry because I can clearly see the ink in the tube. Paper Mate Ink Joy 0.7 Medium Point Pens

I am a proofreader who still does a lot of marking the old-fashioned way, and after experimenting with a lot of different pens, I have settled on these as my favorites. They are smooth and effortless to move on paper. You don't have to exert any pressure to get the ink on the page. They are almost always Ink Joy. There often is a clinker in the bunch, though, which is not as joyous and is scratchy and requires more pressure. But for the most part these are very enjoyable writing implements to work with.

Papermate Inkjoy .7 mm

I liked the colors. Would have been nice if they provided a black pen in place of one of the 2 purple pens they have in the pack but other wise nice selection. However, they don’t write. The ink doesn’t flow well at all unless you are writing on super thick paper. Also, unlike the major attention grabbing claim on the front says, they do fry very quickly at all. They actually smudge pretty bad. Will not be purchasing again.
