Installed this myself as a replacement for the instant hot + cold faucet in our Kitchen that finally gave out. At first I was intimidated by the maze of hoses and water lines connecting it to the tank, but the installation instructions were so clear and easy to understand that the DIY job went smoothly, and we were back in business in no time. I just trust the Insinkerator brand. All of their products I’ve ever owned, from disposals to instant hot systems, are well-made with solid metal components (not plastic), and they’ve performed reliably/as expected for years without issue. I like that there are parts available if you need a repair, and the DIY installation instructions are easy to follow. Have loved this faucet since we built our home 5 years ago. It has worked perfectly until recently when it has begun to drip slightly. I would not complain about that, just the fact that I am now told it is unrepairable!! It has cartridges that are easily removable but insinkerator does not offer the cartridges! Unbelievable that their answer should be replace it with a new unit at over $500. Five years ago I paid around $300.It is simply unconscionable that any company would charge that kind of money for a faucet that is a one time use and throw away.

This is the 3rd time I've purchased this product and it seems to fail every 2 years. I can't deny the convenience of having instant hot water at the sink and how good it looks, but even with general care and maintenance every month, a water filter attachment from Insinkerator, it STILL manages to break somehow in a way that the manufacturer has no suggestions to fix. The problem always seems to be a constant leaking, so I'm guessing an inner rubber o-ring is finally worn out? There is no replacing that part either. The manufacturer gives no instructions on how to open it up safely and to replace the part.

We've used this brand of hot/cold faucet for about 8 years. We recently bought a replacement hot/cold faucet because we refreshed our kitchen and selected a different finish for our fixtures. The faucet we ordered developed a problem with the cold handle so Insinkerator offered to replace it. The replacement faucet arrived within the week. Their customer service department was very responsive to the issue and made it right. Unfortunately, neither my husband nor I are adept at handling plumbing issues so we incurred additional expense to have a plumber de-install the one faucet in order to install the replacement.
Unfortunately, I’m hooked on this product. “Unfortunately” because a replacement faucet costs $400+. I paid less than that for the entire system, admittedly, several years ago. The construction of the faucets render them unrepairable. For example, gaskets, etc. cannot be replaced to fix common leaking. Most distributors were quoting $500+ for the hot and cold faucet but I was finally able to find one on Amazon for $429, including tax.Unless you want to throw away the operational hot water heater and filter system installed under your counter, you have no choice except faucet replacement after about five years.
We had a professional install the new faucet due to the nearly impossible access under our sink. For him it was easy. It was not the faucets fault for being difficult to install. We replaced our previous Insinkerator Hot/Cold Faucet after 22 years of excellent service. (The valves simply wore out and the parts are not replaceable- we definitely got our money's worth).Great product, well made, and a game changer for the kitchen.
We like having the hot water for tea and other beverages needing hot water. So much nicer not having an extra appliance on the counter or stove top.The filter works great, eliminating the chlorine smell from our water. I had just the hot water faucet after we moved and missed the cold tap - having both is my favorite. We had the countertop people drill the hole in the quartz. The rest of the installation went smoothly. It isn't comfortable working under a sink and inside a cabinet but the end product is worth it.
I love the looks and functionality of this product however the unit started periodically dripping water after less than two years in service. I wrote to insinkerator about the problem and received a set of kind of difficult troubleshooting instructions that could point to either the faucet or tank as the problem. after trying to follow the troubleshooting and finding no conclusive result I just ordered a new faucet and had it installed.Problem solved. But Now I guess I need to keep a spare unit on hand for the next time it fails. There are no repair parts or repair procedures available for this faucet. Furthermore, it is quite expensive for such a short service life. What a shame it doesn't perform better
In the last seven years I have had three insinkerator units in my kitchen. The first two leaked in the same spot, at the seal between the two metals cups that create the inner HW tank. I took the first one apart and placed a gasket between the two but the metal eventually corroded and leaked. Second one, I just threw away after determining root cause. The third time I mounted it over a drain pan. However the cord comes out of the bottom instead of the side causing it to sit in the water if it should leak.Advice, They need to replace the inner tank with non corrodable SS type, using better fasteners or just a single tank rather than two pieces. Additionally have, a better plastic housing and insulation, not just styrofoam to reduce standby energy loss.Another issue is the length of the tubing on the faucet; it is too short restricting my mounting options.Additional problem is that the faucet leaks and it is not apparant how to fix it.We recently plumbed my private office with water but at that location I selected a true instant hot water heater connected to the buildings hot water (so it superheats)and just added a faucet for the boiling hot water from that one. The nice thing about that is that I have a digital dial that lets me select the perfect temperature at will. There is no perfect solution but I would not reccommend Insinkerator as it is presently built.
I really liked the idea of on-demand hot water and filtered cold water. We installed this unit about 5 years ago and has worked flawlessly for over 4 of those years. About 6 months ago, the unit started to develop a knocking in the cold water only (hot water works great still). I added a water hammer arrestor to the cold water supply line, which did nothing to fix this issue.I spoke with Insinkerator's customer service and was told I need a new faucet, which is annoying that it cannot be repaired. The bigger problem is the faucet alone costs as much as the whole kit does that includes the water heater. For the $425+ we paid for this five years ago, you would think that either the warranty would be better (1 year), the faucet replacement cost would not be ... MoreI really liked the idea of on-demand hot water and filtered cold water. For the $425+ we paid for this five years ago, you would think that either the warranty would be better (1 year), the faucet replacement cost would not be egregiously expensive (it is), or you could actually repair the faucet (you can't). I'm basically stuck now having to replace the faucet or throw the whole system away and get another companies product.I'm really bummed as I do like the system quite a bit; the filters are easy to change and the system is easy to hook up, just wish the quality of the product was better.
