I have been waiting for a company to bring out an electric multi cooker that is capable of doing canning for years in UK. Canning and preserving has been a lost art form in uk and fortunately it's making a comeback, I didn't really need a multi cooker as I own a large ninja already however I am so pleased with the instant pot that I am going to give my ninja to my daughter and just keep the instant pot, several reasons for this- 1 it's fantastic for small batch canning. 2 it has more features, 3 a great size for me, 4 easy to use. I would highly recommend it to anyone from solo to family size it fits nicely on the worktop without taking up too much space. Very simple to use and clean, my only issue is I wish it had come with instructions book as not everyone would ... The Instant Pot is great; however I purchased it under the belief I could control the pot’s functions over WiFi via Instant Pot’s app. Sadly, this is not really true unless you are using one of their app’s recipes.Having owned an Instant Pot from nearly the very beginning, I’ve created lots of great recipes my family loves. (This isn’t very easy because I have a staunch vegan, a bodybuilder, and a diabetic comfort food junkie I’m chef a la Momma for, lol!) I hoped to be able to remotely control my Instant Pot via WiFi for all my recipes if I should want. What I was ultimately hoping for was to be able to upload my favorite recipes to the app and take advantage of both the recipe storage/search feature and the WiFi control over my new Instant Pot. I primarily just use the pressure function—how hard is it to have a “remote control” in the app to basically toggle “on/off” functions?Although there are some really nice improvements to this instant pot, really disappointed as the description glossed over what it’s true capabilities with the app over Wi-Fi are.

Absolutely dislike this machine. I have had it about 10 months. It refuses to work as advertised. I have the Duo with the Ultimate lid. Whatever is supposed to detect the lid ... apparently doesn't work. I have stuck with it and tried to follow all instruction exactly. To Airfry , you have to remove the lid insert. I removed it. The instructions for a full chicken said to pre-heat to 360. I set it and it worked just fine... now it is time to put the chicken breast down in the wire basket and airfry for 25 minutes -- then turn and air fry for another 25 minutes. So I put the chicken in and tapped airfry and it will do nothing but tell me to remove the pressure lid which was still in the same place on the counter it had been from the start. NOTHING I did would help. I ... MoreAbsolutely dislike this machine. I have had it about 10 months. It refuses to work as advertised. I have the Duo with the Ultimate lid. My impression was that this would HELP... but it doesn't. I wasted $150 PLUS accessories that I purchased. It doesn't release when pressure cooking... book says approximately xx number of minutes and 30 minutes later it releases ... meanwhile everything else is overcooked or cold. I am sick of it. I've given it all the attention it is going to get from me. I suggest you spend your money on a nice meal because you will waste a lot of time trying to make one with this.

I have a few suggestions to Instant Pot. Please put all components we need to access on the front, i.e. overflow cup., valve to shut or release. We can't see the overflow cup overflowing when it is on the back of the device. The valve to shut or release would be easier to access on the front. Could you please incorporate a small rotatable directional port for the steam release and a hard plastic handle near the bottom of the Pot for stacking the lid? The handles near the top are great for stacking the lid but most cabinets are too low to provide enough space to make use of them. Do you have a device such as a pot lifter to get the inner liner out?In your terms and conditions, it would be nice if you would include that you will not sell our information - i.e. email ... Took the instant pot to a pot luck function with cold soup. Put it on slow cooker mode and after an hour it was still cold. Tried pressure cooker and walked away. When I came back 30mins later it was hot but the whole thing was flashing. The soup had started to catch on the bottom. The instant pot recognised this and turned off. The soup was not burned at all and the instant pot saved my soup. The other win from me is that the pot was knocked over in the car and not a drop spilled because the lid was locked on and the seal means no spillage. I was very impressed in these unexpected features. The only down side is the warm up before the pressure cooking starts is really long and there’s no estimated time on it. If you are in a hurry it’s best to heat it on the stove ... MoreTook the instant pot to a pot luck function with cold soup. Put it on slow cooker mode and after an hour it was still cold. I’ve been an Instant Pot user for ten years, and absolutely love how much faster I can prepare meals that once took hours. But a month ago, I decided to upgrade my Duo Plus with this amazing machine and I’m so glad I took the plunge.Setting up the WiFi was a breeze . . .and having the ability to control the entire process from my phone is game changing. I absolutely love not having to go near the machine to release the pressure. The one thing all pressure cooker users dread, releasing steam, has become amazingly effortless. But lastly, I love the ease with which I can can. If doing a small batch, I don’t have to lug out the giant scary pot that Lois more like a bomb than a pressure canner . . .my new Instant Pot Pro plus tackles the job with ease.Thank you, ... I purchased predominantly to use the canning function. So far this has been excellent. I have never pressure cooked since mother scared us pressure cooking when we were children food often dripping from the ceiling. Instant pot is so less scary and I have enjoyed cooking rice which is does so well. Yoghurt is easy and tastes amazing. I am trying to do more and have made mashed potatoes in 8 mins so easy. Looking forward to expanding my cooking. The only thing I find annoying is all instructions on my iPad no cookery book. No instructions for single ingredients like just plain pasta, veg only full meals. It's feels very good quality and I would certainly recommend it but does require a little research.
We got this and enjoyed the pressure cooker function, which is what we mostly used. However, after a year of use the pressure release valve on the lid wouldn't seal anymore. That was the end of our pressure cooking.Just a couple times we tried the slow cooker function and it was totally unusable. For example, put oats in at night to do overnight slow cooker oatmeal. Woke up in the morning and the pot is still "preheating" and the water in the pot was just slightly warm. That happened on both the "high" and "low" slow cooker settings.I reached out to support. They had me upload pictures and videos for them. They said, "sure enough looks like it is broken, you will have to order a new part." But then they never told me where to get the part. I have been a long time lover of Instant Pot. I have owned several pressure cookers from them. I always have at least 2 of them in my kitchen. I have gotten years of trouble free use out of them I have turned many friends on to buying them. I upgraded to the Pro Plus because of the canning feature. I have had issues with this one from the start but it at least functioned, until it didn't. It gets stuck on pre-heat and never starts the countdown even after it comes up to pressure. I reached out to customer service and they had me do some tests. They asked me to send a pic of my heating element (which has had nothing spilled on it but has some discoloration from basic use). They said it's my fault that it doesn't function properly because of the discoloration on the heating element (again nothing was ever spilled on the element ever and in no way has it been mistreated or abused). They refused to do anything about it. So now my most expensive instant pot is trash after barely a year of light use. I am disappointed and saddened that after such loyalty as a customer that there is none from customer service.
I love my new Instant Pot Pro 8 qt Multi-use Pressure Cooker. The settings take some getting used to as they are a bit different from the Original 8 qt Multi-use Pressure Cooker, but all of my favorite Instant Pot meals cook a little faster & come out with the right consistency every time. My biggest need now is a non-stick inner pot for this edition. One of my recipes tends to get the "food burn" warning. On the Original one, this was corrected with a non-stick inner pan, but there isn't one with handles that would fit my new one, yet. The start & cancel buttons are hard to see, but after you set the cooking parameters be sure to hit the start button or it just turns off. It would be nice if it started beeping or something before turning off, but ultimately it's ... MoreI love my new Instant Pot Pro 8 qt Multi-use Pressure Cooker.
