Able to get 5 Ghz on 6 of the cores stable

With this 10940x, I've been able to use specific core overclocking. I run 6 cores at 5 Ghz, 1 core at 4.9 Ghz, and the rest at 4.8 Ghz. That was worth it. I'm happy with this purchase. It was nice that I could stay with the same motherboard I had so the only thing I had to purchase was the new CPU. Be warned that you may get an open box product with no indication anywhere on the listing. The Intel factory seal sticker was cut upon arrival. Box was also clearly handled, I didn't notice until I went to open the box. Product does work just fine as of writing this but who knows what will happen. The CPU cooler was without the pre-applied thermal paste which unless you have some can push your completed build a few days back. Although seller problems aside, it's a great value processer for less than $90. You can't beat the gaming or even desktop performance with anything in the same price bracket. Would highly recommend if you're on a tight budget.

This processor is a monster in this price range you cannot get any better at 80 euros the performance is spectacular and there is nothing in comparison with AMD. The processor came in a very well small box package. It runs at appropriate speeds with an ASRock motherboard. The performance is same or better or as a 7700 non K.For esports titles with a budget build its simply the best you can get at this moment in this price segment. If you are in a tight budget there is absolutely no reason to consider the 10400 for example. The CPU works along a GTX 1060 -3 gigabytes and its smooth as butter in games like battlefield 5 Overwatch CS go and rainbow 6.Pair this with a 510 motherboard and you are good to go for at least two three years with a discrete graphics card.

Does not support booting legacy drives
23 August 2022

The processor performs well, and comes with an easy-to-install cooler (with thermal paste already in place). I would have given it 5 stars except for one critical issue. According to Intel tech support, like all Intel processors launched since 2020, it does not support CSM (legacy booting), something not disclosed. At some point, this won't be important, but for the application I bought this for, it's critical. Looks like at some future time, when the issue becomes irrelevant, I may buy Intel CPUs again, but not in the near future.

Great for everyday computing

Runs everything I use very quickly: photo editing, trading, some video transcoding, bike power file analytics, office, web browser. The included fan is more than adequate, some comments here were negative but I ran the AIDA64 stress test using it on the i3 and temps only reached mid 60s, which are 30 degrees below the cpu's thermal max, no throttling at those temps of course. If you're into games you might need faster, but faster may be a waste if you're not.

I was taken back by the price of this processor. Did a build on pcpartpicker, and saw this was $92. I wanted an i5 but due to demand right now it just seemed that an i5 was priced as an i7. I’ll eventually upgrade, but this thing plays Diablo 2 resurrected, Warzone, and some of my classics like Arma3 pretty well. For what it was, I didn’t expect much. It does better than I expected. No on board graphics though, but I had a GTX 1050 ti. Fresh build, and it installed windows fine, runs everything great.

This Intel Core i3 (10th Gen) i3-10105 Quad-core replaces a i7-4790 Quad-core, (different MB). You might ask why I chose an i3 over an i7, well if you check the comparison reviews, the i3-10105 surpasses the i7-4790. Now in real-life use, I have to say I have not seen any less performance in Video Editing and Rendering. I didn't need a super gamer cpu, just a good reasonably priced work-horse. I believe this processor might be as fast as my Lenovo laptop with an i7-1050H in similar rendering. The price/performance index is great for me, no regrets.

This is the best low cost, electricity efficient general purpose cpu with onboard GPU out there for the Dollar
12 December 2021

Its fast, very stable on Z590 and can still drive modern GPUs adequately. There is no need to spend $100's on a cpu when Microcenter has been selling this for $89-99. I presently use mine for cryptomining in an open air setup on Windows 10 but I've also gamed with these. I do use an aftermarket cooler because I like them to run quietly but the included cooler is adequate. This is the equivalent cpu of intel's former flagship i7 of just a few years ago with new AVX2 and AES extensions, faster speeds and lower watt requirements. This is one of my favorite cpus.

get the latest kernel
26 November 2021

intel graphics driver i915 has a nasty bug that causes the screen to go blank and the monitor to turn off. it is present in all LTS kernels as of november 2021, including the 5.10 series. had to get the latest 5.15 branch to make it work. works like a charm after that, with hardware direct rendering and video acceleration right out of the box with no twiddling. that's pretty lame on intel's part considering the graphics core UHD Graphics 630 is a few years old (launched in 2017).
