Intel Core I7 14700F Processor

It's a decently rapid CPU for gaming, and is excellent at productivity tasks.I'd still recommend steering clear though. This is my second 14700K purchase, after the first one decided to succumb to the issues with degredation after ~6 months of occasional use.Self destructing aside, these CPUs are HOT. I tried using a quality air cooled dual tower air cooler at first, and whilst it did the job, during any gaming sessions the CPU fans were usually at ~70% of their speed (~1300 RPM) and struggling to keep the CPU below 75⁰C. I have run a few benchmarks and the system seems to be scoring at or above where it should be. The Intel Extreme Tuning Utility has shown up no issues during stress testing and the 64GB (2x32GB) Corsair Vengeance 6600MT/s RAM is all working error free. During gaming the CPU usage is generally in the single digits working alongside an RTX4070 Super GPU. I have a 360 AIO cooler on it and tweaked the fan and pump speeds and don't get any thermal throttling with the package running up to 250W. I have swapped the stock retaining bracket on the motherboard for a contact frame based on reviews and recommendations. Overall I'm very happy and would stick with this CPU if I had to get another.

I bought an Intel i7-14700k on Feb 10. I put this CPU on three different motherboards, none of the three attemps successfully boot the BIOS system. I then spend tons of time debugging the whole pc system and finally brought the cpu to professional tech guys, the results are consistent - this is a dead CPU. I brought the CPU to BEST BUY today (March 8) and asked for a refund or replacement. They rejected it since it has pasted the 2-week due.I understand that this is BEST BUY's after-service policy, but this policy is not very reasonable and should be more flexible. Debugging a pc system is very time-consuming, since there are many aspects that need to be checked and every step requires carefulness. Policies are set by human and can be changed. I've run Intel exclusively since replacing a Phenom II in what had to be 2010/2011.After I had purchased it articles on stability issues started popping up. They didn't really worry me especially as they were mainly surrounding the 13900/14900 i9s..But that was until I started having random crashes that have ultimately been pinpointed to the CPU.What makes it worse is..I'm stuck with it. I spent $900 on the CPU, a motherboard obviously for this specific chipset, and less importantly - RAM. There's no fix from Intel. RMA? Sure, for the same CPU with an inherent design flaw and an apparent 100% failure rate (that percentage is based on 3rd party investigators, not made up.)If I switch to an AMD CPU I'm basically out another $700. I was debating to buy an i9-14900K, Then i9-13900K, reading and comparing and i couldn’t understand why the difference is knlg a few dollars, looked like another gimmick from Intel. So i said let me check if i7-12700K upgrade to i7-14700K and the answer is short, Save over $200 by not upgrading to i9-12900K, i9-13900K and i9-14900K, Why? I7-14th gen is the newest gimmick from Intel. i5 looks so much appealing then looks like a gimmick that makes i7 is the best middle rangne that beats the i9 by not having much oerformance difference cause it’s unoticable but money wise. Even with 8 fans and a 280mm nzxt AIO, it instantly thermal throttles during cinebench. Compared to my 12900k that doesn’t thermal throttle during a 10 minute run. If you plan on only gaming, i would get a 7800x3d over this all day for the better power efficiency and less power draw. But if you’re gonna be doing any kind of productivity work, the 14700k is the clear winner while only being around 3-4% slower in 1440p and 4k gaming. I got this for $380 so not much more than 7800x3d. Hits mid 50s during gaming and idles in the 30s. Actually runs surprisingly hotter than my 12900k which already ran hot.
