Mankind was born on Earth. It was never meant to die here. In the near future, Earth has been devastated by drought and famine, causing a scarcity in food and extreme changes in climate. A group of explorers must travel beyond our solar system in search of a planet that can sustain life. The crew of the Endurance are required to think bigger and go further than any human in history as they embark on an interstellar voyage into the unknown. Coop, the pilot of the Endurance, must decide between seeing his children again and the future of the human race.

Christopher Nolan has done it again, this time a sci Fi thriller which he never touched on before but like wise with all his previous films he has created a stunning movie. There a lot of themes in this movie, a lot physiological aspects to it and I especially love the contrast and the connection between love and gravity. A stunning experience exploring the unknowns of space.

I have mixed feelings, always had since I saw it at the cinema. In terms of spectacle, scale and overall visual execution: unprecedented, without a doubt some of the finest work ever shot for sci-fi. The atmosphere alone still makes me feel like it was a nightmare. There are some scenes that feel too surreal, or too hauntingly alien, it's hard to describe. I would recommend it to anyone. It was also the first digital soundtrack I ever bought, the music can stand by itself.Just be aware it can be very sentimental. And I had no lack of invested emotion, but I was still disappointed by the ending, by some of the dialogue and the cliché message that love conquers all. I don't hate the message, I just don't like how it was forced. I thought it was under-appreciated by local critics the year it was out, and I still think it's overrated by the average viewer now. It's a good film, and I'm pickier about such sentiment than most. With that said, I'm interested in many kinds of movies. Nolan's style even appeals to me, but I think I'm being fair headed in saying that he goes over-the-top with this one. I was not remotely bored by the length, I didn't have a problem with the technical explanation, I was not confused by the concepts (except for when it was intentional), in fact I love how this was the first time an accurate depiction of a black hole was ever rendered, even in the scientific field. I'm not even troubled by the sound mixing, I say that as a foley mixer myself. It's unusual but not a mistake. The symbiosis between the realms of science, faith and humanities is explored enticingly. It's a very ambitious and challenging movie, so I'm still glad Nolan tried with it. I appreciate all these qualities, it's painfully close to being a masterpiece, but I don't want you getting high hopes for the writing, and I can't praise it without censuring the conclusion. Perhaps my aspirations for it were too great... This was supposed to be a quick review."Makes you aspire for it a lot" There we go.
Another absolute masterpiece by Christopher Nolan. Interstellar has some of the most breathtaking scenes captured in a sci-fi film. The story is about how love conquers all, it sounds cheesy but it is executed so well that you will feel eternally satisfied at the conclusion. An definite must watch for any type of fan. 10/10
I bought this about a month ago and I was really happy with the product. This is one of those films that I have always loved despite its flaws. Taking obvious inspiration from films such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, Christopher Nolan has created an extraordinary sci-fi experience with great performances and great cinematography that culminates in a very satisfying conclusion. This has got to be one of the most beautiful looking films I have ever seen. The practical effects with minimal CGI adds up to a more realistic tone. The special features were plentiful as well.
From the Director of The Dark Knight Trilogy and Inception comes his most ambitious and most human story yet. I bought this product as soon as it was realeased as I couldn't wait to experience this emotional powerhouse of a film in my home. The film boasts incredible acting all round, an incredibly immersive score, an emotionally charged story of humanity, discovery and the power of love and is ultimately a message from the director to reach for the stars and explore of vast universe. Experience an incredibly powerful film from one of the best filmmakers of this generation.
Terrific sci fi with amazing thought and creativity. Compelling and thought provoking, as well as stunning. Didn't know anything before watching it and it may seem confusing at times, but that just creates compelling reasons to watch again and again. Wonderfull.
This movie is based on current scientific knowledge and has some great CGI. The downside is that the lead actor whispers throughout the movie which gets old pretty quickly. Some second-rate actors think it is cool not to move their lips while on camera but I find it annoying in the extreme.
Why I like it:1. The robots. Tars and Case are superb, get all the best dialogue lines, and are some of the most interesting animation examples in movies.2. The theme. I like the idea of humans being explorers again, hitting a higher purpose, and doing cool stuff in space.3. Acting. It's actually pretty decent, and uses its cast well. The only person I don't rate in this is Hathaway, and I think that's mostly because she's given limited room to move. The bad-1. The scene at the end explaining the inside of a black hole and gravity / time distortion. The SFX are great, the acting is over the top and misses its mark.2. Inconsistent approach to take-off. Space ship leaves Earth on booster rockets at the start but then for every other planet can do orbital flights ... MoreWhy I like it:1. The robots. Good acting, nice story, a shade long but doesn't skimp on detail or visual spectacle.
