Intex Auto Above Ground Pool Cleaner

This pool Vacuum is amazing. Has great suction. I suggest hard PVC Pipe from skimmer to pump. to handle the power.

Can't live without our Bruce, yup!

Great little tool, takes over all the hard lifting of keeping you pool bottom clean! No more manual vaccuming required. We named ours Bruce after the fake shark in Jaws as he will tend to biteyour ankles if he rams into them if you are in the pool with him while he's on. Easy price to pay for such a great maintenance convenience, yup.

Dang Good product For The Money!

Having had bad experiences with other Intex products I opted to give this one a try based soley on videos I had seen. I was surprised that it does exactly what it is supposed to do and does it very efficently! Each evening I set it up and in the morning just clean it out and it's ready to go again. I highly recommend this product.

Didnt Work Well At All For Me

Honestly, this was a big disappointment. The device kept getting hung up on tiny wrinkles in the bottom of the vinyl pool and the suction was not strong enough to pick up much of the debris. Not sure if something is just wrong with the one that I received, but it is pretty much a paper weight at this point. I cant say that I would recommend this product based on my experience.

Intex pool vacuum

I would love to recommend it, say it's good value and quality but I DON'T know. It has taken all summer to get the correct parts from Intex. First, the original pump went out twice, forcing me to purchase the correct size for the pool. Then, the hoses didn't properly match up and had to order 2 reducers, and only got one, and appropriate filters for the new pump and got the wrong ones sent. Went to a local pool supply houseand got one but they informed me they don't carry a lot of Intex products because they are inferior. So, would I purchase Intex pool products again, no.

Minor changes needed

You need a strong enough pump for this. Mine is barely strong enough even though it’s well within the listed requirements so if your pump is right there at the low range I’d pass on this. With it barely strong enough if there’s even a tiny bit of air in the hose it won’t work. I have the issue every time I take it out. I’ve finally resorted to never taking the hose out. When it’s working it is amazing though. It even picks up sand (we have Sandy soil and sand gets in the pool and our manual vacuum doesn’t).I love that it has its own filter that’s pretty much a screen so all the tiny things it picks up don’t clog up the pump so not as much backwashing is needed.The gears can get stuck with sand though because they’re pretty much open to where it sucks in ... MoreYou need a strong enough pump for this. Summer Fun!

I have to admit that I was nervous about this purchase but I desperately needed a vacuum for my pool. I have the Intex 16 x 48 pool and the smaller sand filter pump that it originally came with. I spent a lot of time looking for the correct vacuum for my pump size. The key is patience in making sure there are no air bubbles. Overall it worked well and I was able to use it by myself without assistance from my husband. Win win for everyone!

It took me a while to understand how it works. It keeps the particulate matter at the bottom of the pool suspended in the water so the pool filter can take it out. Very little is in the internal filter of the unit BUT it cleaned my algae problem (plus some chlorine) with out a lot of effort on my part. It got out all the sediment at the bottom of the pool. If you have a lot of leaves, net the leaves, it won't clean up a lot of leaves, none of these kinds of units will. It works just fine with the smallest pump filter unit listed unlike some posts I have read. You will have to clean the pool filter a lot until the pool is clean. I hope this helps.

Did not do the job. Ran back and forth in virtually a narrow path and failed to do the bulk of the pool. I gave it a week of use and intend to return. I wanted a unit that works on the input to the pump such as this. I have one that works on the exit from the pump (also made by intex) that required to often emptying and thought this unit would do the job but as stated it doesn't

vacuum cleaner for pool

Does not work unless you stand by it and hold the hose into the connector and constantly have to pull it out and put it back in and push it to get it moving. Pool is level, pump is exactly as required to have for this cleaner, hose was measured and cut per description and specifications. Really frustrated because I should be able to just hook it up and let it go and cannot. Have to stay out there with it the whole time.
