Poor piece of equipment. This is my 3rd and final purchase of this product. After the second use, the side brush stopped working. I have reordered this part and will replace it because I am a handyman and because I would like to get more than 180 minutes for $200. I was under the impression that these devices had, by now, been programmed to GPS technology or some kind of memory for running and remembering a room. Mine is connected to Wi-Fi. My Roomba went 3 times to the same spot on my stairwell and stopped functioning. My floor space is 1,000 sq. ft. and the stairwell is 3 feet. I am surprise that any retailer still sells this type of really poorly constructed equipment.

Does not do rooms with area rugs...supposedly dark in color like brown. All it does is either sit and spin or just stops. Worked fine in other apartment and was gray wall to wall and didn't fall down steps. But 2 phone calls and at least 5 emails back and forth being told to remove area rugs to clean floor to resolve the issue. Are we Serious?!! Asked next email to go to supervisor, which took week and a half for responseWas basically told the same thing, it doesn't do area rugs because sensors think it's falling. This dimwitt told me to clean sensors. Now all along I asked for a credit or percentage off a different model...this they never addressed.....just remove rugs! My last email to supposed supervisor I told him I would Now put negative reviews out on this ... MoreDoes not do rooms with area rugs...supposedly dark in color like brown. Pack it up and return for a refund!!! How about That!! No more roombas here! Got the Shark....great unit!! So even though it's out of stock...save your $$. The first thing I noticed when I plugged it in was that the battery was completely dead. This means that the battery would go out quick and it sure did. It takes forever to charge and it drains quickly. As far as performance, I put the station in the area were I want it to pick up the random little my cats leave when getting out of their box, it completely has missed the whole area in the 30 minute loud running time. I even checked the bin to see what it had picked up and there was almost nothing in it.Not worth the price for something that misses the mess and runs around aimlessly and is noisy. Returning this next week.

This product is amazing! However it keeps crashing into corners. Once it got stuck on the front door and once it went into my room and ate all my stuff. However i've read other reviews about other roombas and this one is the best. I thought irobot was good but when i read the reviews i was so surprised because i finally knew how terrible the other robots were. I have a 380t and some issues. But the 692 had no issues.
Purchased 2 of these (1 for me, 1 for a friend). Neither of them work well leaving a great deal of material on the floor that the worst traditional vacuum would have lifted. Paid $196 for each of them and consider this item a total waste of money. Neither Sam's or the manufacturer was willing to do anything even though I contacted both within 2 weeks of purchase. Save your money. Stick to buying paper towels and toilet paper from Sam's.
I have three relatively low pile area rugs with simple borders. No tassels or bumps to be climbed by the machine.I am now in my third week of using my new Roomba and have to say that I am underwhelmed at the difficulty it has with the area rugs. It is extremely inconsistent in how it treats the rugs. Sometimes it treats the edge as an obstacle and changes course. Sometimes it treats it like ordinary flooring and cleans a little of it with no problems. But usually it gets stopped for many imaginary reasons once it is cleaning one of the rugs. On average it gets stuck 10 to 12 times per 90 minute battery charge. And, to add insult, when I move the stopped machine to a completely different room it often finds its way back to where it got stuck,… and you guessed it - ... I primarily use my Roomba to vacuum my large hardwood area. It does a great job. You have to make sure small objects (dogs/kids toys) are picked up, as well as small scatter rugs. It does a great job of running right up on your large area rugs and vacuuming them as well. It runs well along base boards. It picks up a lot of dirt, I would give it a five except that it cannot get into every area because of it’s size. Definitely glad I purchased!!
Love this fabulous little machine .Not so good on carpet , gets stuck. Also moderately noisey . ...but you can programme it to clean when your out.Great on my dusty polished boards and low profile sisal/wool mat.DO empty cassette for each round and you will see how much dust/hair/ "stuff" it picks up .The ultimate lazy housekeepers possession .
Does not work for larger, active homes. Might be good for office or small apartment. Seriously, why does a modern robot vac not have mapping?! It goes over same spots multiple times while missing others. Also, unlike the advertising, it WILL NOT go over shag rugs, it turns right around!! Frequently wedges itself under kitchen cabinets and arm chairs. I dont know why it can't sense when it is wedging itself under a ledge. Why, iRobot? WHY?! Seriously, needs a smart update to its programming and the addition of a mapping function. Otherwise works ok but have to run it while we are away since it is LOUD, about as loud as our Shark upright vacuum cleaner. They must be able to make a quiter version!
I received this as a Christmas gift. What Irobot does not tell you as the product can't be updated unless you have the app on a smartphone or tablet. Worse, the app does not tell you what it is doing so all you get is that the Roomba is connecting to your network but you have no idea whether it is doing anything or not. After 10 minutes, it just kept showing the same screen. So I have no idea what revision it is or whether it needed to or actually did update itself to the latest revision.Tech no-support was useless. They couldn't even tell me why, when logging in, I would go to some useless page that just said "error" with no explanation even though I had successfully logged in. If they don't know why their site is not working right or have to get help from others ... MoreI received this as a Christmas gift. If they don't know why their site is not working right or have to get help from others as to avoid using the app to update the device, how are they going to help you with difficult questions? As to the Roomba itself, for those hard of hearing, the voice sounds garbled so you have no idea what it is telling you and since the app doesn't do anything, you can't see what the Roomba told you. It does run around the room but can't climb on some rugs, gets stuck for no apparent reason and needs to be moved at times. It gets under some furniture without a problem but then can't get out because it is too high even though it went in without a problem. It repeatedly goes over some areas but totally ignores others. It sometimes can't even get on it's base even on a flat floor. The base can't be under anything even if the object is a foot off the floor so it has to sit out in the open where someone can trip on it or on its cord. When it bumps into walls or other objects, it should remember that but it doesn't so a few minutes later, it is back bumping into that same place over and over. All in all, it makes a good, but high priced, conversation piece where humans can discuss the stupidity of robots and robot manufacturers and why we stupid humans, to avoid a five minute vacuuming job, will spend all day trying to make a dumb poorly designed robot do the same work in an hour.
