This is the only vice I have other than the occasional Islay single malt whisky. Unlike with the whisky, using this vice maintains a solid grip on reality. It can rotate horizontally and vertically for versatility and I like the small, flat anvil section behind the various choices of jaws (depending on orientation).

I received the vice in clean working fashion but unfortunately was already broken in box. The swivel base part was broken and there is no replacement part made for these products. Examination of broken part showed me also the metal is a pot metal and wasn't going to last long anyways. I recommend just buying the harbor freight vise instead.

WOW!!! What a Vise. By reading some of the reviews some of the people talking about it said that top clamp was loose and also a little crooked when they came together. I found none of these problems on mine. And, I didn’t check for those things until after my first job which was bending 1/2” X 2” four times with a small sledgehammer. What a job that was. Thank You Lowes for selling such a Great Tool.

I initially purchased a 4” vice and even though I don’t need a vice regularly the 4” was like a child’s toy. The 6” seemed a bit too much and I settled on this. I will say this is still a substantial vice in size and weight. It is definitely a full size vise and operates in a way that makes me feel it will be tough and dependable.Smooth operation although the swivel base seems a bit cheap in that you have to loosen the retaining bolts almost all the way but how often do you swivel a vise? It also can rotate and that works well.Overall this is a tool you most likely will have for longer than you need it.
For years I had a cheap Pittsburgh vice that finally decided to break in half. This thing is sooooooo much nicer.
Junk, do not buy, does not swivel nicely, have to near undo the 2 locks and dissemble it to spin it, the head rotation has stopped working aswell. Disappointing product from what I thought was a great brand.
Having a bench vice makes your workbench official. Without a vice, it's just a table. Once you slap one of these babies on it, it's legit.This one is reasonably priced, and does the job well. I only have 3 bolts securing it, but it's more than sufficient to hold it in place. If I shake the vice, the workbench shakes along with it, coupled well. As soon as you have one, you are always using it. It's the 3rd and 4th hand you never knew you needed until you have it.Would recommend
It is a cheap vise. Cheaply made, and obviously so. Bad castings, bad finishing, very poor precision, poor tolerances, rough operation on all fronts. Will it work as a vise? Probably. However if the initial build quality is any indicator, I'm not optimistic it will hold up over use and time. We will see.
Device seems to be well built. I like the tilt option on it. I did lube it up good. It was in good shape. I inspected it prior to purchase it replaced a 40-year-old craftsman vise that finally broke.
far nicer and better built by far than my old vice. IRWIN delivers. I have used it a number of times and it does a great job with projects and with Pipe handling down below the main part of the vice.
