It Cosmetics Lash Blowout Mascara

I got this mascara in the IT cosmetics Mascara ClosIT kit, which includes three mascaras: Superhero Mascara, Lash Blowout, and Hello Lashes+. The packaging and name are cute. Superhero Mascara is my favorite of the three, by far. It gives an almost-falsies look. It lengthens, volumizes, and separates. My lashes look dramatic, and I love it! Lash Blowout curls and lifts and looks natural on me. I absolutely love the packaging of this one. It would be ok for every day, but I do wish it were more dramatic looking. Paired with an eyelash curler, this helped a little.Here’s my main issue with all three mascaras though – each one leaves my lashes feel dry by the end of the day, and all three I found moderately difficult to remove (even with eye makeup remover that historically removes even waterproof mascaras). Lastly, I experienced flaking with Lash Blowout and Superhero, as well as lash loss when removing. Hello Lashes+ was the easiest to remove (likely because it’s a tubing mascara). I expected to find three vastly different brushes, but honestly, I didn’t find the three brushes terribly different. As a whole, the set is a good deal, especially for people to test out new mascaras. Superhero is a great mascara (the other two are okay). I plan to try Superhero with a primer to see if that helps with removal, flaking, and lash loss.

I’m using the deluxe version but the full size has super cute packaging and it’s great for gift giving. It’s very good at giving my lashes volume, lift and length. It goes on very clean and doesn’t get clumpy even after three coats (which is how many I used). The brush is straight and on the thicker side so it’s perfect for those of us that have very sparse, unnoticeable lashes. If you see my before and after pic (swipe ⬅️), there is definitely a noticeable difference. While I really like this mascara and love this brand, I feel there are other drugstore mascara’s that work just as well or even better for a lot less money. Contains carmine, unfortunately

I received a sample of this a while back, sojust a little tube and no box. I should have looked up the ingredients first! This mascara has carmine in it, which is a red pigment commonly found in makeup, made from powdered cochineal beetles. I am highly allergic to it around my eyes, so now my eyes are red and goopy.The mascara itself did make my lashes look pretty. However, it smudged to my lower lash line throughout the day. (I was wearing an ULTA tubing mascara on the bottom lashes.) I would only recommend this maybe if it's on sale and you have no issues with carmine.

Great volume and comfortable wear

Really great volume, goes on smooth mostly. I do find that it can start to get a little more clumpy with application about halfway through the tube. It also tends to run out a little sooner than I’d care for at this price point but! The benefits outweigh the negatives of those. This mascara is so comfortable! Even if I accidentally sleep in it, it doesn’t irritate my eyes and my lashes don’t get crunchy. It never makes me lose lashes and comes off easily enough. It doesn’t transfer to my upper brow and only minimally under my eyes and that’s actually saying a lot because almost all mascaras do that to me unless they’re waterproof. And this one doesn’t do it until a full day of wear and much less than any big name brands I’ve tried. I love how full it makes my lashes ... MoreReally great volume, goes on smooth mostly. In response to all that email asking for a review

I wasn’t going to give a mediocre review, but frankly I tire of the repetitive emails imploring me to do so. So here it is: Meh.I was excited to find ItStyle mascara online. Back in 2012, I stumbled across a little shop in Rome, selling these cosmetics. Without question, it was the best makeup I owned, including the mascara. This wasn’t even close. My grocery store purchases have a more effective brush and smoother product. Such a shame.

I loved the ease of application and how easily this brush grabs every single hair, but despite the claim that this mascara is clump-free and separates the lashes for an amazing look, I noticed that this wasn't true. The mascara does clump and make my lashes stick together (towards the outer edges of my upper lash line) due to the really close bristle design. I try to do only one quick layer now every time I use it to avoid this issue and this gives me somewhat better results. Also, using a lash brush afterwards helps a little bit to separate the lashes. Overall, I have to say I really love the look this mascara gives my lashes! They are much more defined and noticeable, long and full, with a natural curved appearance. I really hope the texture will be improved to be non-sticky, and this would definitely become my new go to mascara! I also love that the formula is infused with biotin, jojoba oil, Vitamin E and collagen to help strengthen and condition lashes! I recommend you give this mascara a try for yourself! Definitely much better than drugstore brands!

My absolute favorite mascara!

I absolutely LOVE this mascara!! I hate wearing fake eyelashes, even though that seems to be the trend now-a-days 😒, but with this mascara, I definitely don't need to!! It really grabs on to each lash and makes them look long AND full. Most mascaras from the store I've noticed give you longer lashes, but make them look skinny and sparse. I love the thickness this mascara provides!! Would give it 5 stars, but the only downside is clumping. It can be avoided but you need to constantly wipe the brush and really take your time when applying. But the results are sooo worth it!!!

After 2 coats my lashes do not look thicker or fuller - so, not a volumizing formula. I'm very picky when it comes to mascara. It can't be clumpy, stick eyelashes together, have a brush that is too soft, blah, blah, blah. You know. It's all that stuff that does not make you happy in the morning as you finish with your eye routine.I am happy to report that this mascara hit all my check points for what makes a great mascara. I actually smiled, a lot, the first time I used it. It goes on so easily with no clumps or globs even with the first use. Impressive! The best part is how my lashes look when I'm done. They look natural, but long and thick, and that is just with one application. Truth. Even as the mascara is getting down to its last few uses it continues to need just one application.I LOVE this product and will never use another mascara again.

dramatically clumpy

This mascara is a terrible mascara for people like me who want to just apply, maybe comb through once, and be done. It comes out of the tube in globs on the wand, and of course applying it leaves clumps that are nearly impossible to comb out. I’ve used it for about two weeks and there’s been no improvement.I know many reviews rave about how long and dramatic this makes their lashes, but pay attention to the ones with pictures that show the lashes gunked together. I thought that this was user-error—maybe people just didn’t notice and thought their lashes looked good still? But it isn’t. It’s the mascara.If you like long and dramatic and don’t kind clumps. This is for you!
