Iwata Eclipse Series airbrushes are known for their all-star versatility. Eclipse's high flow allows it to atomize a wider variety of liquids with less need for reducing or thinning. Eclipse Series offers a broad spray range, as compared to other airbrushes, where it is possible to achieve a controlled fine line to controlled wide spray. The Iwata Eclipse BS Gravity-Feed Dual-Action Airbrush has a 0.05oz 1.5ml fluid cup and is ideal when using small amounts of spray medium. Iwata Eclipse Series airbrushes feature an exclusive compression fit nozzle that is easy to clean and assemble. The quick-flush cutaway cutaway handle allows easy access to the needle so that you can quickly empty the paint reservoir for cleaning. Iwata's spring-steel needle resists breakage and the PTFE needle packings are solvent resistant for longevity. Iwata Eclipse airbrushes come with a head cap spanner that is used to remove the head cap when accessing the nozzle. Also included is Iwata Lube, which is used to lubricate the needle and main lever mechanism. Hugely popular, Iwata Eclipse Series airbrushes offer all-star versatility.

After being away from Airbrushing for more than 20 years I spent a lot of time researching which product to purchase. I am blown away by the quality of this tool. It has the right weight, travel, and nuance. It feels more like a work of art than a tool. It's easy to use, consistent, and very easy to clean. I highly recommend this airbrush!

Great airbrush, easy to use. You will most likely require an adapter for this airbrush if you are using a generic compressor as opposed to an Iwata one, so be aware of that. Beyond that, perfect.

This is the first airbrush I own and I'm very happy with it. Of course, I can't compare with anything else and it is a bit pricey, but all the research I've done suggested I should NOT go with a cheap option. I'm very glad I got this airbrush - I've already painted with it several times (specifically miniatures). I can definitely recommend it. The included paint and airbrush cleaner were a great way to get started right away.

I was a graphic designer for 40 years and used an airbrush a lot of that time when painting with gouche and Dr. Martin's Transparent Inks.I've tried a couple Paasche brushes and some Badgers but the Iwata has always been the sweetestand the one I used most often. Now since I'm retired I use the HP-B on scale models of Formula One cars.I just got and HP-CS and it is as terrific as the B.Maybe one of the more significant aspects of these brushes is mine never got clogged up!!!!That may be hard to believe but if you establish good working and cleaning techniques you'll never have to take them apart.
I am getting serious about my airbrushing for my die-cast car restoration and customization hobby. I have been using a HF compressor and airbrush for several months now and its been great but parts and support is almost non-existent. I have had some Paasche VL's in the past but Iwata has always been highly regarded. I looked on DickBlick.com and found this kit. It was on backorder but was promptly shipped after getting into stock. The airbrush is BEAUTIFUL, its like driving a fine automobile after driving and owning economy cars my whole life. The actions are smooth and the parts are all very well refined. I can not be more impressed. Now I just need to save up for a much better compressor.
Ya know, I have had 2 eclipses, I absolutely love Iwata. It’s just a really well engineered tool. I love the drop in nozzle. I don’t have to worry about messing threads up with the screw in type. The thing is a work horse. It will spray whatever you want just as long as it’s properly cleaned and thinned. You just can’t beat it.
After looking for this airbrush through many sites, this was a great price! As far as airbrushes go, this is one of the nicest I've held in my hands.Taking it out of the box, I found it very comfortable in my hands and solid. The trigger is very smooth with no drag of any kind to be felt.Prior to use, I set it up and cleaned it out as recommended.I loaded it with paint and started spraying a cardboard blank. The Iwata performed flawlessy from flooding areas to just smaller than a pencil line with no overspray, spitting or splatter. The Iwata performed as advertised. It is a great tool that has just become my go to brush! This thing is a trooper! From brushing portraits, scenery, cars, and even firearms, the Iwata hp-cs will do what you want it to! I already have the Eclipse HP-CS and it's perfect for the "BIG" paint jobs that I get working on some models especially where I must use a larger amount of Paint. But, with the Eclipse HP-BS I can utilize the smaller gravity feed cup for more jobs where a large amount of paint is not required. The ease at cleaning the HP-BS is a big thing for me, and it's very well built just like its brother it's easy to work with and a comfort in the hand, I love it!! I truly believe that I will be getting a Whole Lot of use out of this Airbrush. Donna I called her to ask some some questions and she was a fountain of information. The best thing I asked about a higher end Airbrush, and she said that I didn't need that, but that the Eclipse HP-BS and it's brother Eclipse HP-CS were ... MoreI already have the Eclipse HP-CS and it's perfect for the "BIG" paint jobs that I get working on some models especially where I must use a larger amount of Paint. She Didn't want to Upsell me anything that she did not think I would definitely need, she did advise to keep a few extra needles on hand which I ordered with the Airbrush... The order arrived ahead of schedule and was packed professionally and with an added bonus "MapleLeaf shaped Candies" very nice touch, Will I recommend Maple Airbrush? Oh Heck YES-YES!!! You'd be silly not to check out the site and find what you're looking for, and don't be afraid to call Donna if you have any questions, she's more than happy to help you out... Honestly if you're looking for something Airbrush Related, you'd be crazy not to check out Maple Airbrush!!
Been using the SBS for about 17 years. That alone speaks volumes. If you use old paint, you will periodically have to poke a clog out of the nozzle, but that's no big deal. However, whoever designed these side feed bottles has no clue what it's like to clean these things. It's built with a 90 degree angle which means that when you get a clog, all you can do is blast it with air and windex and wear it away literally one molecule at a time! The cutaway handle serves no discernible purpose. Otherwise excellent airbrush. Always have a spare needle and nozzle when you're troubleshooting.
I bought the HP-BCS Eclipse Ready-To-Go Set. The air canister froze (literraly) after I used it for a few minutes, so don't get this because the air source is phony and you still have to buy an air compressor... even at the start. The stencil set is a toy... that you can make yourself. It comes with some tape that I don't know what to use for. And I think the paper is for making custom stencils. This set, if you are going to get it, will get you familiarized with how an airbrush works. After that, you will quickly outgrow it, leaving you wanting for more.As far as the airbrush goes, what it really is, is for people who are only going to do high-volume uses; i.e stencils such as for t-shirts, or painting airplane models, varnishing, etc. For any other use that is ... MoreI bought the HP-BCS Eclipse Ready-To-Go Set. I've tried to check as many variables as I can, and the only advantage I see in bottom siphon feeding is that it doesn't block your view and it can hold a ton of paint... that's it.Bottomline - this is a very basic airbrush with an Iwata brand name.
