Disappointed

Desk took several hours to construct. After turning over fully built desk to move into place we noticed that there was damage all along one top edge with extensive scrape marks and chipped corner. Unfortunately this is the side on show. Gently cleaning the top surface with a slightly damp piece of paper towel left large smear marks on the black surface that can't be removed. Given that the desk is fully built, we are unable to take it back to Office Works to show the faults. Unfortunately our new desk looks like an old desk with the damage and scuff marks.

I decided to buy this desk as I am working from home full time and needed the extra surface space and it does that but everything else is a let down. The assembly is an absolute nightmare. The drill holes are not drilled properly. There are so many different parts that it took me over a week to build and when it was finally done IT DOESN'T FIT TOGETHER PROPERLY. Not at all what I expected given the price.I wouldn't be surprised if it fell apart tomorrow. This desk is not fit for purpose Office Works should not be selling this.

Convenient shape provides a computer space and z work area. The drawers do not pull out as far as I would prefer making access to the rear of the drawers a little difficult. The unit is very heavy. The black top tends to cause dust and other foreign material to stand out. It also scuffs when an item such as a keyboard is dragged on it.

Looks better than it really is,not worth the money

I bought this yesterday after reading and trusting the “ 1 “ review and as soon as I took it out the box I was disappointed. It took me around 2 hours to build, the pre drilled holes into the “ particle board “ Did not all line up. The white wood was already marked and did mark very easily during assembly and there was damage to the desk door, only a small chip but noticeable. Even when the components were assembled it felt very loose with too much flexibility. The locking cam style nuts were not firm when locked in, there was no true lock feeling to them. They feel like they could just unlock of their own free will. I’ve built many flat pack items in my life and this one is definitely the worst yet.I would say that had the desk been half the value then you got ... MoreI bought this yesterday after reading and trusting the “ 1 “ review and as soon as I took it out the box I was disappointed. It took me around 2 hours to build, the pre drilled holes into the “ particle board “ Did not all line up. Not Happy Jan
3 June 2020

Bought this a month ago. The runners in the top draw would not allow it to open and shut smoothly. Very stiff and when we had to really push hard to close, some ball bearings dropped out. A month on and still hard to open and close and every now and then a ball bearing drops out. Also put aside a good 3hrs to put together. On a side note my husband bought the same style at another furniture place with no issues and cost half the price. Unfortunately for me they were out of stock.

Solid Workstation
15 January 2022

The 3 boxes of flatpack was a little daunting but only took me about 3 hours to put together, the only thing that was unclear was which way the runners went on for the drawers - easily fixed though.Otherwise the build was straight forward and is a nice sturdy desk

Solid desk
18 September 2022

Very heavy when fully assembled - need 2-3 people to lift/move it if it is on carpet. The access opening for computer cables etc on the rear corner post gets hidden when the desk is in a corner.

What a stitch up this desk was. Looks nice on the box , then opened the boxes and there’s 1 million pieces. Took 2 people 4 hours to build , the drawers don’t slide properly the cupboard doesn’t open properly and I now have a headache and have no choice but to drown my sorrows with beer. Never again !

Very cheaply made and arrived damaged
31 August 2021

The desk arrived damaged and scratched up, not to mention that there was a solid boot print on the box and the drawers don't line up. The panels are shocking the quality really isn't there, if you can get an Ikea desk instead, definitely go down that route. We've already put ours together and it is one of the few desks with storage that fits the area we need it to, so we have opted to try to keep it as I can cover the panels with vinyl, but if you're not prepared to do that, save yourself the money and effort to assemble this thing! Just logged a request for a replacement drawer unit (here's hoping not to have to take the whole thing back to the store!).

Waste of money

The desk was a nightmare to put together it took 3+ hours. After getting it together some of the doors & draws were slightly out of alignment so it didn't close unless forced. The black surface shows every little speck of dusk and marks from your hands no matter how clean.A couple months after purchasing this I moved house, there was no easy way to take the desk apart to move, as soon as you apply the slightest amount of pressure the screws rip out of the fiberboard and leave a massive hole so they cannot be reinserted. You cannot move this desk unless you are telekinetic and can move it with your mind. The desk is now broken and ruined. If you enjoy torturing yourself during assembly and never want to relocate the desk once installed then maybe this is for ... MoreThe desk was a nightmare to put together it took 3+ hours. Would never buy again after this experience.
