Amazing Sound Quality!

Picked this up on sale after I picked up the 7 Pro earbuds and loved those! It's been over a week of fairly steady use (not continuous and I haven't had to charge them!)Battery life is amazing, sound quality is amazing, the case is a great addition!Overall I recommend this 100% the pairing is easy and has no connectivity issues. The design with the folding and power on/off swivel is nice as well and feels luxurious.I picked them up to have over ear headphones with ANC so people can see when I have headphones on as opposed to earbuds to quit talking to me and it works well! I plugged the cord into my shockwave CD player and the sound quality with these plus an actual CD as opposed to mp3s... mind blowing. The perfect headphones!

I started the return process in January 2022 and I sent this pair in as well. This time the return process took 5 weeks total and I had to contact Jabra after my headphones were sitting at the return warehouse for a week.In March I finally received my third, new in packaging, replacement pair. These had the same charging issues out of the box! They would not charge above 60%. When I charged them with a 5v block the charging LED was solid green after a few seconds regardless of what the battery readout said when I turn them on. When I charged them with higher rated blocks the LED light pulsed like it was charging but after being plugged in overnight they still wouldn’t charge over 60%Instead of exchanging my headphones AGAIN, Jabra refunded me for my full purchase. I had these less than 1 year and I only had functioning 85h headphones for 8 out of the 11 months.Totally unacceptable for MSRP $250 and a company that wants to be taken seriously with the big guys in sound quality. Buyer beware. TL/DR: You may save some money when the Jabra 85h go on sale from time to time, but that difference in cost when compared to other high end ANC headphones is not worth the hassle/reliability issues.

Sound quality is second to none, easily comparable to my AKG K550's, bass is deep and can be tuned to your taste via Sound+ while the treble levels are precise and don't become distorted.Adjusting the volume is done via the buttons on the right earpiece, they aren't labelled which is smart and stealthy, you can also pair them to more than one device at a time - ideal for listening to an MP3 player while not missing a call.Battery life is great; over the course of a month I've only managed to use 40% from a full charge, that's listening to a podcast every other day with a few relaxing music sessions thrown in. I haven't tried calling on them as that's not what I use my headphones for, nor have I used the voice assistant functions.Overall, I Highly rate the Jabra 85h, well built, excellent sound quality and incredible noise cancellation. They only lose a star due to not supporting older devices.

Excellent Comfort and Sound
21 March 2020

I've been using these headphones for the last few weeks and have to say I'm very impressed. The headphones arrive in a nice carry case and come with a USB-C charging cable and a 3.5mm headphone cable, this means that these can be used wireless or wired which is a bonus. I found the headphones to be very comfortable and the sound quality to be excellent. This is my first experience with over ear headphones and I must say I've been missing out. These headphones have 3 settings for noise cancellation. These are Active, HearThrough and off. With the noise cancellation fully active you are literally isolated from any outside sounds, I've used these in very crowded areas and I couldn't hear a thing apart from what I was listening to so I was very impressed. With the noise cancellation fully active you are literally isolated from any outside sounds, I've used these in very crowded areas and I couldn't hear a thing apart from what I was listening to so I was very impressed. The HearThrough option is also a fantastic addition as it's ideal for times when you need some outside sounds to get through for safety reasons and it works very well. Whilst the Sound+ App is recommended, a lot of the functions can be controlled via the various buttons on the headphones. You can adjust volume, play and pause and control the level of noise cancellation quickly and easily using this method. They even have Google assistant and Alexa integration so can be controlled via your voice. One last mention for the battery life on these, I've been using them for about an hour a day for 2 weeks on high volume and I've only had to charge them once after the initial charge. I have no other wireless headphones to compare this to but I'm more than happy with the battery life I'm getting. So to summarize, I highly recommend the Jabra Elite 85h if you're looking for a stylish and premium pair of headphones with excellent sound quality, fantastic noise cancellation and decent battery life.

Great headphone experience

The Jabra Elite 85h is a great headset that was easy to setup thanks to the useful phone app and provides really good sound quality. The Moments and Sound Modes are useful, allowing you to set different modes for different environments, giving control over what you hear. These features are usually easy to change via the headset once setup in the app. ANC is very effective and blocks out most background noise, whilst HearThrough allows you to easily hear conversations, providing great control over the headset. Soundscapes are cool, giving you background noises that make you feel like you are elsewhere. Personal favourites are Perfect Storm and Ocean Waves! Soundscapes are cool, giving you background noises that make you feel like you are elsewhere. Personal favourites are Perfect Storm and Ocean Waves! Firmware is easy to update via the app. The voice assistant took a while to get the hang of, but it's a very useful feature that's easy to use. On-ear detection works well, pausing the audio just after the headset is taken off. There are a couple of issue. Charging is a bit annoying as the cable is short and there's no quick way to see when it's fully charged. Being USB C though, it is easy enough to get an alternate charge cable, and with it's fast charge capability, it's got a good amount of listening time with only 15 minutes of charging! It's also a shame you need to download something to your PC for control when connected to one - sometimes companies don't allow staff to download things to their devices, so unfortunately Moments and Sound Modes are difficult to control. When connected to a PC and phone at the same time, the headset sometimes gets confused, again making Moments and Sound Modes difficult to control. The HearThrough mode amplifies some unwanted sounds, such as air-con machines, which is annoying and can cause a distraction.

I'm a prolific buyer of headphone and earphones, as I tend to use particular products for particular activities, gaming, work outs, commuting, general listening etc. So I was interested to see how the Jabra Elite 85h would fare. The Jabra Sound+ app is not essential but helps you to get a better experience with these headphones. You can use the app to control the level of noise cancellation depending on your varying environment and surroundings. It can also help you choose a sound profile and to display the battery level, its definitely an interesting and novel way to listen. In terms of comfort, they really are a super snug fit and this really assists in the already pretty good sound quality. I've had a few over the head earphones and I have to say these come out pretty far at the top! Going back to the noise cancelling function, it would be remiss of me to not go ointo a little bit more detail. These headphones come with three core settings; Active, HearThrough and off. The HearThrough setting is perfect for times when you want to still be able to hear some if the noise around you, with a little toddler to keep an eye on, this is useful! I should also add that I have been super impressed by the battery life on these headphones, requiring minimum recharging and a voice reminder to recharge! Similarly the Bluetooth function is brilliant, allowing me to go quite far distances without being affected. The sound is crisp.

So here's the skinny on these. Easy set up. Connects to Bluetooth seemlessly. The app is solid and you can customize and create your own "moment" and then save it. Sound quality is crystal but to a person with relatively poor hearing I'd suggest maximum volume is a little low. Noise cancelling is decent: I used these on 2 Porter Air flights and they were prop planes and these did a good job. The only beef (as mentioned by others) is that on occasion, there is a sudden, unexpected "pop" sound that can present and you never know when it might come up and it's startling when it does as you are never expecting it. I find that weird. On sale, these remain a great buy.

Noise cancelling smarts in a stylish package

Wireless headphones with noise-cancelling smarts have traditionally not come cheap. And if they have come cheap, they've been found severely lacking. Here the 85h provides a much better experience than my last set of headphones. Even in a busy office (before lockdown!) these provide an amazing level of privacy and seclusion and on the commute (again, before lockdown) the Hear Through mode allows important announcements to pierce your auditory bubble and Smart Sound mode makes adjustments in response to the sounds picked up from your environment. It's smart stuff and it works more than the price tag would lead you to suspect. The music stops when you remove the 'phones from your head and picks right back up as the speakers swivel back into their listening position. My only complaint? The lack of on-device controls to nudge to the next track but that's a minor quibble when you consider the technological smarts packed into this stylish package, making Jabra a name well worth considering if you're in the market for noise-cancelling cans that actually work!

I tried various genres of music including jazz , funk , electronic , classical music , reggae and the headphones sounded excellent on most types of music with a clear undistorted accurate sound which personally prefer over long listening periods ..stereo imagery was precise and midrange very revealing .. also noise cancelling was excellent and cancelled out background noise very effectively , I also tried voice calling on my iPhone which was crystal-clear during conversation ..The volume and play pause buttons are discretely located on the side of the headphones behind the mesh which is very neat..Battery life and wirelessBattery life was excellent as I used them continually for around 3 hours a day for about 5 days and still plenty of battery life left .. to test wireless connectivity I used the headphones downstairs whilst my iPad Pro was in the upstairs bedroom with no dropouts at all even though we live in a thick walled house, also tried them in the back garden and no dropouts which was fantasticConclusionIf you are looking for very comfortable noise cancelling high quality sounding wireless headphones with excellent battery life these are a must buy ..Improvement Points: Bass could be a little stronger ..
