Purchase certified refurbished direct from Jabra. Earbuds were in like new condition and included all accessories. It came packaged in a small zip-lock bag. Sound is very good for this price range with some EQ applied. I find that I need to apply some amount of EQ to all earbuds in this price range before I can fully appreciate them. IMO, the Jabra Elite 85T is about equal to the JBL Club Pro+ and Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro. All three of these earbuds sound best after EQ'ing and although they sound a little different from one another, they are about equal in overall sound quality. If I had to pick one of the three for sound quality, I would choose the JBL Club Pro+. The Club Pro+ is also my pick for best fitting but my last pick for ease of control. The Jabra Elite 85T is my first pick for ease of control because it uses hardware switches rather than a touch surface like the Club Pro+ and Galaxy Buds Pro. The 85T is my 2nd choice for fit and sound quality. Don't get me wrong, all three earbuds sound quite good after applying EQ to suit my taste. The Galaxy Buds Pro is my 3rd choice for fit because I cannot get a good seal with the factory ear tips. I was able to get a good seal with the Jabra Elite 85T and JBL Club Pro+ using the factory ear tips. I detect no appreciable difference in the ANC between the Club Pro+, Galaxy Buds Pro and Elite 85T. All are good but are surpassed by the Sony WF-1000XM3 and XM4. The Talk-through feature of the Elite 85T and Club Pro+ worked really well and made communicating with others very easy The Jabra Elite 85T is a good choice in the $200 price range but some consideration should be given to the JBL Club Pro+ and the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro. All 3 of these earbuds are quite good but none can compete with high end earbuds like the Sony WF-1000XM4 and Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 in terms of sound quality.

These are some excellent headphones that I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking to have a flexible set of earbuds that they can pair with every device they own, from their phone to the home or work PC. The earbuds come in a very compact case that it's very easy to carry around , even in a small pocket. Once you open the case, you will see some small, sleek earbuds that will fit your ear without sticking out much. Do some tests to figure out which rubber tip works best for your ear and you are ready to go. For the first use, you want to download the Sound + app to your phone and connect your earbuds. It will run some sound optimization specific to your hear and help you select the best equalizer for your use. You will also learn how to use the earbuds tap commands, which provide some great click feedback. No need to guess if you have sent the wrong command. Sound is clean and clear across the entire spectrum, no heavy basses or chirpy highs. I've found the sound neutral enough to be good for all uses, from music, to video and phone calling. The mic is pretty good, and you will be heard loud and clear on any call. Furthermore, there is support for two devices paired at the same time, which means you can use the earbuds on your laptop and answer your phone without touching anything. Battery is solid, and you will be able to use the earbuds for 6 hours or so without recharging. Plenty of time for most activities, and the charging case will quickly help you if you need more. The weakest point is probably the active noise cancellation. While it will reduce ambient noise, you can forget about erasing the noise of a trafficked street. The effect is closer to hearing the sounds from a distance. Nevertheless, it will help with some of the background office noise. Overall, I would recommend these to anyone, unless you are looking for some strong noise cancellation. If that is the case, you likely need to look at much bulkier over-ear headphones.

When they arrived, I could tell from the box that they are a quality product and a lot of thought had gone into the product and the packaging. The set up was simple and they connected to my phone really quickly.I love the fit feature, which through the app allows you to find the best size buds to use. The Noise cancellation is good and gets better the longer you wear them. I like that taking one out causes the audio to pause and it continues playing as you put it back in. The smart feature though is hear through, it does affect battery life, however it's great when out walking and you want to be more aware of traffic etc. Or if you're just nosey like me and want to be able to hear what people are ... MoreI have been using the 85t headphones for just over a week now. I've been using them for roughly 2-3 hours a day as a guide. In terms of using them out and about I have taken them on a few walks and never felt like I need to adjust them or they were falling out. I haven't used them when out on my bike yet, as I wanted to make sure they felt secure first.I have used the find my jabra feature in the app already, as I couldn't find them one morning. The case had fallen out of my pocket and they had gone down the sofa. It was a great relief to know they were in the house. They are a definite upgrade on the 75t, which were great but lacked wireless charging and a few other little features. The touch controls still take a little getting used to. I would definitely recommend them though, if you're looking for your first pair of wireless ear buds or looking to upgrade from an older pair.

These earbuds are simply incredible. As an upgrade from a set of pretty impressive Jabra Elite 65T true wireless earbuds, these are so much neater, more comfortable and feature-packed. Starting with the fit, the 85Ts are a pleasure to wear as they’re so discrete and compact and I often forget I’ve got them in. This is a huge step up from the comparatively bulky 65Ts. The next thing I noticed was the clarity and balance of sound, whether listening to my preferred bass-heavy tracks, old-school jazz or something more classical, the sound stage is simply phenomenal. Films and TV viewing are so much more immersive and the fullness of the sound is little short of wizardry given how the diminutive size of these little wonders. Films and TV viewing are so much more immersive and the fullness of the sound is little short of wizardry given how the diminutive size of these little wonders. I can also attest to the active noise cancellation, evidenced by a rather frustrated family member who was struggling to get my attention until I realised he’d been calling loudly to me for a few minutes and yet I was blissfully unaware. The battery life is really very good, especially for the size of these units and the ability to wirelessly charge the case is a really nice extra feature. Another bonus is the ability to customise the controls to suit personal preferences and the Jabra Sound+ app is, in my opinion, one of the best headphone interfaces out there. In fairness, I should mention that initial set-up was slightly less smooth than I’d have preferred, particularly as I needed to factory’s reset the units when one earbud was repeatedly ‘popping’ on first use. After starting again and running a rather slow firmware update, it’s been happy listening ever since. All in all, these are the best true wireless earbuds I’ve had the pleasure of using and I can’t wait to pop them back in and listen some more.

When I ordered the Jabra Elite 85t I was worried about the performance and quality that they would give compared to my high end over the ear headphones I use regularly while commuting. Right from the get go these have blown that worry away. They are great in all areas! Right out of the box they look and feel like a high end device. They are extremely easy to use, comfortable and have enough tech in them to keep even a avid tech enthusiast like myself happy. Set up was simple by using the smart phone app, although you do not need to use the app if you do not want to. They can be linked via your devices Bluetooth menu. Set up was simple by using the smart phone app, although you do not need to use the app if you do not want to. They can be linked via your devices Bluetooth menu. Using the app was easy though and unlocked a whole load of added extras which makes these earbuds brilliant. The app first takes you through a series of set up tutorials including testing fitting, then it even gives you a hearing test which then allows for the best frequencies to be used to hear your music/calls better. The app also gives the ability to change the eq set up and the extra functions of noise cancellation and hear through. The noise cancellation is great for loud areas, it really works well by countering the outside noise with added sounds. There is another feature called hear through. I like this one especially while I am commuting as I can still hearthe announcements on the train or cars going along the road for safety. Using them day to day is easy. Each earbud has different controls that you access by tapping them or via device. Another great feature is the wireless charging case. This is the first pair of ear buds I have tried and the added comfort knowing that they are always fully charged is great. Pull them out of the case and the turn on and pair. Then after pop them in and they turn off and charge back up. The case can be placed on a wireless charging pad or via the cable. The size of the case and buds is also great as I hardly notice the case in my pockets, unlike my large over ear headphones case that takes up a lot of room. Not only are these a good earbud for commuting they have been excellent for exercising as well. I usually use a pair that wrap around my ears to stay in. Was worried that these would fall out while running but they stayed in like a dream and where very comfortable. Overall a great pair of earbuds. I think they will easily replace the two separate devices I have been using up to this point. Pros Design Features Comfort Ease of use Size Mobile charging case Cons Maybe a little expensive for some

Also, excellent and solid quality. The titanium color actually feels like its a metal. The negative:The earbuds have a kinda wierd shape, they feel okay in the ears but they are not perfect, JBL did a better job on that. The use or the case is confusing, altought its pretty cool to have many colors for battery level (green yellow, orange, red). The earbuds are a pain in the a$$ to pair (in my experience). The case battery seems very poor. Earbuds battery seems pretty good. Finally, i would ABSOLUTELY recommend these earbuds !!

I chose a gold pair of these stylish compact Jabra 85t earbuds - mentally challenging them to live up to the online hype and positive reviews I'd read online. I am pleasantly surprised, and they continue to live up to expectations. They have a compact case, with power cable (USB connector) and can be wirelessly charged. They come fitted with medium sized soft plastic ear inserts to help them fit snugly yet comfortably in your inner ear (also supplied with two other sizes, small and large). Having initially downloaded the Jabra Sound+ App, within which you can change settings and functionality, i selected a basic run through of how to set them up and use them. Having initially downloaded the Jabra Sound+ App, within which you can change settings and functionality, i selected a basic run through of how to set them up and use them. There is a fairly comprehensive info and help guide you can access, as well as ability to contact the Jabra tech team for assistance which I did at one point to do with Alexa pairing. The response was quite quick and comprehensive. So far I have been using these earbuds in basic ways that make my life easier, more convenient and life enhancing. When in the car I can ask my phone's google assistant to call someone for me. The call comes through quickly and clearly, whether using the 'hear through' option when I'm driving, or using the seriously good ANC function (Automatic Noise cancelling) when walking next to a road, or doing boring jobs in the garden and noisily cooking and washing up in the kitchen. Both myself and the other person can hear each other clearly and it is a pleasing experience (plus I get pesky jobs and errands done). Music listening wise, I am impressed with the quality of sound when I listen to Viking FM (using their app). Easily comparable to listening via Twin Alexa speakers. I haven't needed to modify any of the settings available to me yet, via the Sound+ App - yet it's comforting to know i can easily tweak things if i wish. This includes Earbud functionality: i can change which earpiece i press and how to control volume, ANC, play, pause and so on. Used to Earbuds, these are easy!

Mixed bag

I bought these on the back of a lot of positive reviews, here and elsewhere, after an older pair of fairly cheap SkullCandy earbuds died.I'll start with the positives because there's a fair few, the battery life is great, the sound quality is good, the noise cancelling was a very pleasant surprise, and the app offers a surprising amount of customisation. All great features, all backing up the choice to spend more for quality. The downsides, though... It's bizarre that a pair of earbuds this expensive don't work without the right earbud. I usually wear both or just the left one, this is just not possible with the 85t. Aside from any personal preference for single-bud use, it limits your battery life as you're beholden to the battery in the right earbud. Then ... MoreI bought these on the back of a lot of positive reviews, here and elsewhere, after an older pair of fairly cheap SkullCandy earbuds died.I'll start with the positives because there's a fair few, the battery life is great, the sound quality is good, the noise cancelling was a very pleasant surprise, and the app offers a surprising amount of customisation. Aside from any personal preference for single-bud use, it limits your battery life as you're beholden to the battery in the right earbud. Then there's the fact that the left earbud is disrupted anytime you walk into a shop with scanners at the door, it's only a second or so, but losing audio in one ear is a pretty jarring experience and not something I'd expect. They also stop playing music if you remove an earbud during playback, which could be nice as an optional, but the option to disable it in the app doesn't seem to work.Lastly, the speed of the bluetooth connection with a pre-paired device has been surprisingly slow, slow enough that I've ended up with the speaker playing music and podcasts multiple times because I've been too fast for the headphones. Given connnection speed was one of the main reasons for ditching the cheap Skullcandys, I'm not impressed with that failing!Ultimately, these are pretty good, but there are some really disappointing issues and feature choices given the price. I couldn't recommend them in good faith without some hefty reservations.

Solid set of ear phones without spending the earth
26 March 2021

I have now fully tested the Elite 85t and overall, I would rate these a 7.5/10. The packaging is very sleek, and the setup guides are very simple to follow. I would advise setting them up on your phone first with the easy to use app. They will connect to other devices without the full setup but I feel that the auto adaption to you personally really helps improve the experience. For the first week my ear were in a little bit of discomfort over long periods of use but I have not been feeling anything for the last couple of weeks. I would advise not jumping to the conclusion on comfort because now I am well adapted. They do feel secure in my ears but there has been the odd occasion they have jumped out. I am avoiding running with them for this reason. The battery life ... MoreI have now fully tested the Elite 85t and overall, I would rate these a 7.5/10. I would advise not jumping to the conclusion on comfort because now I am well adapted. They do feel secure in my ears but there has been the odd occasion they have jumped out. I am avoiding running with them for this reason. The battery life is a little contentious for me as I feel I get about 3 hours of use before they start to run out but that will be impacted because I am connected to both my phone and laptop at all times. If you are on all day calls then I would not recommend these because they don't last as long as I expected. Overall, I was impressed with the ANC functionality against my over ear high end branded headphones. I would say the cancellation scores highly for me in this area and was surprised based on some reviews I have seen. I also rate the experience of someone else on the other end of the video call. I always ask if they can hear the noise coming from the background and no one can. I would like to see an improvement in the distance before cut-off. I walk about 6 meters through a glass door and they end. I am probably expecting a little too much of the technology though. All in all, I am very pleased with the Elite 85t and would recommend it to some who is looking to now splash out more than other more expensive brands but wants quality.

This is not an upgrade of 75t
25 July 2023

If you like me love your jabra 75t and looking for an upgrade, don't get this one. It's horribly uncomfortable in the ears - i need to fix their position all the time, as I constantly feel they are about to fall down. The previous model was so so confortable, I don't know why would Jabra change the shape of the tips to oval... I don't know who they tested them on, but I can't even exercise in them, as they keep moving in my ears. The case is bulkier too, which is not a big issue but again why? I have not noticed any improvements in the sound quality or anything else. I called John Lewis support, but they refused to take it back as I already opened the case, so will need to live with this. If you are thinking about buying it, if possible try them in the store before ... MoreIf you like me love your jabra 75t and looking for an upgrade, don't get this one.
