Single Barrel 100 Proof Tennessee Whiskey is bottled in bond. That means it’s produced under a certain set of standards: in one distillery season, by one distiller, in a federally bonded warehouse and bottled at 100 proof. Its smooth notes of caramel, vanilla and light spice give way to rich flavorful oak and a balanced depth on the finish. Perfect to buy as a gift on your travels or as a reward for yourself.

This Whiskey is my absolute favorite American so far. I have tried the likes of Old Forester 1920, Wild Turkey Rare Breed, Woodford Double Oak, and more. While the aforementioned are all fantastic pours, I’d say without hesitation that for me, this tops all them. This pour has a strong and delicious Banana note that I have never tasted in another American whiskey. It is entirely unique. Pair that with the high proof, and your mouth will warm up as if you were biting into a loaf of freshly baked banana bread. It is out of this world and well worth the price.10/10.

I can’t stand high proof whiskey as I can’t get past the bite of 100+ proof whiskey. 45-47% is right in my wheelhouse and this whiskey delivers in every way. The single barrel release helps refine the Jack flavors of vanilla and banana. Also has a good oily mouth feel. Don’t get tricked by Gentlemen Jack and Old 7. These guys no how to make an excellent sipper. Plus how could you not want a bottle design like this on your shelf. This bottle is a steal under $50 like it is at TW. This goes up to $60 at other retailers.

On the nose there is intense overripe stone fruit, strong oak, caramel, vanilla, rye bread, and baking chocolate. On the palate: Sweet caramel, strong well balanced oak, vanilla, freshly baked pastry, baking chocolate, very ripe stone fruit similar to dried apricot, with some dusty grain and baked pastry on the finish. Very nice sweetness up front, but not cloying. Thick mouth coating feel and just a bit oily . This benefits a lot from 20 or more minutes resting time in the glass to breathe. The layers of aroma and flavor really develop after an extended time in the glass. Great slow sipping bourbon.

I've never liked Jack Daniels, or Tennessee whiskey. I hate to admit it, but this is beautiful. There's a slight hint of something that always brings banana nut bread to mind. It doesn't taste exactly like that, but there's a hint of something in the background that reminds me of that.I'm not good at describing tasting notes, but this has all the qualities of a perfect bourbon, with none of the issues that make me dislike the entry-level Jack Daniels whiskey. If I didn't know better, I might even think this could be from Kentucky. It's that good. And look at that bottle. Just look at it.Buy some right now. Or leave more for me. I'm cool with either one.
1st time trying a Tennessee whiskey. I think bourbons & whiskeys taste best around the 92 to 104 proof. But that's me.So I had to try this single barrel 94 proof. All in all I have to give this a solid 3.5 star rating really. For less $$, Maker's 46 is a better drink & buy all day long !But back to the Jack...TotalWine says intense, it's not. They say Toast, there is that cereal-grain-toast lingering lightly. But it is not that complex, thin-ish viscosity mouth feel. There is the bright fruits & the basics of the Vanilla & Carmel. The woody oak barrel comes & goes quick. The whole sip doesn't stay long at all. But what does stay a little long is the Jack Daniel's charcoal filtering. It's ok, it's over priced & there is better stuff out there for less.
Although I don't have any credentials, trophies, or accolades, I feel fairly qualified when asked to provide my honest opinion about a beverage because I've been drinking spirits for 25 years.I know there might be some variation, especially given the nature of single barrel options, but I chose a JD SiB at a Kroger in Kentucky. However, I thought the prevailing notes of sweet corn, banana bread, and vanilla to be quite 1 dimensional and somewhat uninteresting for a $80 bottling. I thought my bottle was expertly constructed, balanced, and intriguing.Pleasant mouth feel.
Bought a mini to try.Nose: ethanol sweetness. kind of has a powdery sugar note. But, the primary note is a fruity "barrel oak" which hasn't yet transformed into a more defined flavor like oranges or cherries. It does have a fruity character but it's just undefined. some vanilla and some black pepper. Something earthy and herbal as well. For a moment I was getting a partially used cigarette, that combination of light ash with charred tobacco and the heavy oily smoke coating the unspent leaves in the paper.Taste: surprisingly thin for 47%, or easy drinking if we're to put a top spin on it. ethanol is still carrying the sweetness which does taste a bit like honeysuckle. again with the earthiness and herbal. fruit notes are pretty thin here. "primordial bourbon flavors" that haven't yet solidified into more recognizable flavors like cherry, honey, vanilla, peanuts (which I'd expect from a Jack Daniels). etc.The website calls 2-stars FAIR and 1-star POOR. I would indeed call this poor.
Great, fast delivery with high quality product!
After trying Gentleman Jack and the normal Jack Daniels No. 7, I wasn't sure what to anticipate, but the first sip really blew me away. It has the same banana-forward DNA as other Jack Daniel products, but it is MUCH more refined; it isn't as overwhelmingly sweet as Old No. 7, and it doesn't have the bitter aftertaste. It's just a shame that many look down on Jack Daniels because of Old No. 7. They have earned my respect with this specific expression. It is not an aggressive whiskey and is incredibly approachable for new whiskey consumers, particularly for those with a sweet palate.
I bought this bottle for something special for us for Christmas and it is amazing. I never thought such a high proof whiskey could be so smooth. I've bought more expensive whiskeys but, my opinion, this one blows them away. I wasn't much of a whiskey drinker, especially on the rocks, until Covid hit and I started experimenting different liquors. I found I like the specialty flavored whiskeys and rums but this one is my favorite regular whiskey by far. It has a great flavor, very smooth, and pleasing. Perfect for sipping on the rocks. I highly recommend this one.
