Good quality for the price. 2 of the tuning knobs are either really stiff or really lose, and those strings go out of tune after 5-10 mins of play. Hopefully it settles in and goes away, otherwise i will have to replace them. Other than that, great guitar, perfect fit for my 7yr Son. He has no problem playing chords thanks to the short/thin neck.

Purchased guitar for granddaughter to practice on (and me as I have small hands). Instrument finish is good, no rough fret ends, one tiny blemish on bodywork finish. Neck finish is different from other guitars I am used to, but feels ok. Hardware all looks good and works ok. Action not bad and strings stretched out after a couple of days. Sound is really good - I thought I might have to swap humbuckers for premium brand but at the moment I am more than happy with tones. Recommend for anyone wanting small(er) guitar. Chose in favour of Ibanez Mikro because colour (white) was more easily available in Jackson range, and ÂŁ30 cheaper too.

This thing is worse than a toy. I bought it for my son for his ninth birthday. He was excited ... for about 15 minutes. First off, it's impossible to tune -- never mind staying in tune. It was literally impossible to get this thing tuned. Second, the frets buzz. Badly. Third, the frets are painfully rough. Sliding my hand up and down the neck literally tore skin off my palm -- so, not rough as in a little bumpy; rough as in OSHA health hazard. Finally, about 15 minutes into playing with it, my son went to put it in its stand and it tipped over. That's all it took for the nut to come unglued. I have literally bought toy acoustic guitars -- and toy ukes, for that matter -- that were higher quality than this piece of garbage. Do not buy.

Everything is great except for two things: First, the tuners need to be upgraded. It isn't terrible, but I'm finding I'm tuning it way too often. I can feel the tuners give a little when tuning. They simply aren't as solid as more premium tuners. Secondly, if you are an adult, the upper 4 frets are extremely difficult to play quickly. Everything else is buttery smooth, but the upper 4 frets, while playable, are extremely hard to play fast on. I play mandolin too, so I didn't think it would be a problem, but it's enough of an issue that I'm considering upgrading to the JS32 Rhoads over this.
This is a fun little guitar. The price is right, and for what you pay, you get a decently built guitar. The short scale neck is comfortable, with no sharp frets (even for me with my large hands too). The pickups are decent enough, and the switch gives a very solid click when you move it. That said, there were some big issues with my particular unit: the nut slots were cut way huge/sloppily, especially on the 3rd string; the 6th string tuner was installed crooked, making it hard to turn without hitting the 5th string tuner [pic]; the tuners also do not turn well or hold tune (I am replacing these); and worst of all, the guitar was producing a loud electronic buzz from lack of grounding. I believe this problem will be present on all units of this model, because I ... MoreThis is a fun little guitar. The price is right, and for what you pay, you get a decently built guitar. I believe this problem will be present on all units of this model, because I determined it to be due to the black paint used on the bridge plate--it is non-conductive. In order to fix this, I dremeled an area under the bridge for the ground wire to contact [pic] and dremeled the string holes on the side closest to the neck where the strings would touch. This solved the problem. For anyone attempting this fix, I had trouble removing the bridge even after removing the 5 screws, because it was seemingly glued onto the body. I made a heat shield out of cardboard with a hole the size of the bridge and used a hair dryer to heat the bridge up, and after about 5 minutes, I took a guitar pick and pushed it very hard under the curled up side of the bridge, which caused it to pop off of the body finally. You may or may not have this problem and may or may not have to do what I did. There didn't actually seem to be glue on it, so I think maybe the paints just bonded a little. The bridge will come off though eventually. I expected to have to work with this guitar a little, and for the price, I was willing to see what I got. All in all, I've been playing it a lot and it's a fun guitar, and once I tweak the parts that aren't so good, it will be even more fun!
I bought this guitar "used" for my son. It got here really quickly and it has to be the least used, used guitar I've ever seen. The pickups and rear plate still had the clear protective film on them. I appreciate that it had been used long enough for them to not consider it "new" but, it is certainly in new condition. They could have easily called it new and nobody would have known. Kudos for the integrity. Also, it's the nicest kid-sized guitar I've handled. Good job Jackson.
I've always wanted a jackson guitar even though I didn't know if I can play like a pro, I love having the addition to my little collection. I Also have a Jackson Dinky and a Jackson (amplified) acoustic that I constructed from an IBANEZ acoustic guitar body. I just used my old set of jackson pickups that originally came from my Dinky that I replaced with the original high output pickups. It sounds pretty good. Thanks Ebay and co. for everything. I still have a few things but I'd better take it easy for a bit because I also have a train fetish now. Lol.
This was a present to me as I had a Stroke. It's also since being Customized by me as a therapeutic thing as well/ It's a Beautiful Dinky to begin with I've changed the hardware to Vintage Charvel Jackson 750XL Pickups aka the Les PaulKiller. J50n and J50B pickups. Serymour Duncan YJM Frictionless 500K pots Vintage Fender Switch Craft 3 Way Switch, and Jack. Emerson .47 Oil Can Filter Cap for better Tone. The Tuners, are Vintage Charvel Logo Gold Gotohs. . Gold Knobs with Blck Pearl centers Gold Tune /O Matic Bridge, Custom Designed Neck Plate. Laser Etched I designed and more tweaks. Once I get Physical Therapy for my Stroke i'll be playing again. I love this guitar
So itâs a very cheap guitar - itâs a small body, itâs frets are scaled down to match the short scale neck - itâs tremendous fun. Wonât use this all the time but great for practicing tricky new solos as the necks so fast it feels like itâs playing itself. Hopefully will pass to my daughter when sheâs a bit older đ- surprisingly decent pickups - good attack and sustain- very lightweight- short body - will need to adjust your playing style if youâre an adult as your right hand position needs to be a bit closer to the neck than usual- hardware is pretty good - some initial problems keeping in tune but has done well once itâs settled into regular humidity- bends are ridiculously easy so keep an eye - if youâre used to bending up a full tone and apply the usual ... MoreSo itâs a very cheap guitar - itâs a small body, itâs frets are scaled down to match the short scale neck - itâs tremendous fun. I have been buying, playing, repairing, setting up and maintaining electric guitars for over 40 years.Based on that and the price:This little beauty is great. It plays extraordinarily well and sounds just as good.Intonation was almost perfect, up to the 24th fret, right out of the box. Amazing.I also purchased a fantastic and fun Ibanez Gio Mikro that I recently reviewed. The two guitars are similar and yet quite different from each other and, upon arrival, each had their own unique set of problems. The Jackson also needed to be set-up properly and tweaked but that's not all...The ground wire from the bridge was not connected and that was causing a huge buzz. The pickups are not straight in their mounting rings and the neck pickup is wobbly.I don't know ... MoreI have been buying, playing, repairing, setting up and maintaining electric guitars for over 40 years.Based on that and the price:This little beauty is great. Gorgeous.) is flawless, the neck is superb except for an over-tightened truss rod causing a back bow (Which I fixed.), upper fret access in unlimited, the hardware is solid (Tuning machines are very nice. Better than the Ibanez.), the controls are smooth and solid and the pickups sound quite good to me. It is definitely not neck-heavy.This guitar is not perfect, but for the price, I think I got a great little axe that I can easily modify if I want.In fact, I am having more fun playing these 2/3 size guitars than my ridiculously expensive standard size ones. They are not that much smaller and I am getting some awesome tone. After adjusting the truss rod and tuning and leaving everything else as it was, I played it for over an hour and wow, it's great! In my younger days, I would have returned this guitar as defective. However, this is a super little axe and tweaking guitars to perfection is what I like to do and I do enjoy the results of my efforts.Bottom line: If you want a great little guitar, super for high gain metal and shredding but not limited to that, don't wait...
