This is an instrument that anyone who takes tire maintenance seriously should consider buying. Appears to be well made and ruggedly protected. Readings were easily obtained, but you do need to put a good amount of 'PUSH' when you connect to the tire's schrader valve or it will leak off air. Not a defect but something to know to use this gauge correctly. All readings were compared to 2 other known accurate gauges and were "spot on". This package is exactly what you want if you are replacing an older digital or perhaps going from your older analog standby to a new digital readout! Been working on cars for over 50 years and this is in my opinion a reasonably priced, well made, highly accurate and lifetime warranted product that will probably be passed down to my ... MoreThis is an instrument that anyone who takes tire maintenance seriously should consider buying. This tire pressure gauge ticks all the feature boxes. Good size, back lit display with readings shown to 0.1 PSI resolution. Easily changed standard AAA batteries. Integrated bleeder valve. Durable rubberized case protector. A rotating chuck on a flexible hose making awkward valve locations a snap to reach. It's a well made and well thought out product. Also, the chuck connects to the air hose using standard 1/4" NPT threading -- so it's possible to swap to a different style chuck if desired.

My collection of JACO tire pressure gauges includes several. Couldn’t resist the digital edition of this gauge. Simple to use. Batteries included. Setup is merely removing the battery preventer and turning on requires merely pressing a button. I have the short stem, brass gauge in digital. This version allows me to change the chuck and I did removing the original chuck and replacing it with the Lightning S2 chuck which I prefer for obvious reasons. This quake is well designed, manufactured with quality materials. It fits within the medium pouch sold by JACO So I have the best of an assortment of gauges. Highly recommended

I'm impressed with your digital tire gauge. It's easy to use, read and attach (and it would be even better if it had one of your lightning chucks). It has good precision and is accurate enough for my needs. However, its rubberized HypridFlex™ air hose has a bad smell and its odor lingered on my fingers for hours after using it. I might try rubbing it down with Murphy's Oil soap to see if that helps. I now think, to avoid the smell, the Elite® version of the meter, although not as convenient to use, might have been a better choice.
Easy to use, compact, and dead-nuts reliable. I have no idea where that phrase comes from but I know what it means and that is infalliable.Plus the price is killer!!!! I would be nice if the hose was removale to maybe connect this to something like a small 12v Milwaukee inflator, but whatevs. The small pressure release button seems flimsy, but works a-ok in practice.Would buy again and already got two as a gift!
I bought the Elite Pro Digital Pressure gauge after some basic research on the internet. I ordered directly from JACO website and opted for the free delivery option on regular mail. The item was delivered to me the following day via amazon. Thank you. I only had it for a couple of weeks and considering its price I did not expect a product of this high a quality. I am very satisfied with the product. Operating on AAA batteries is a big plus for me. It is easy to use and store, very well built and gets that 'built to last for ever' feel which reminds me of the quality expected of a product that has 'Made In The USA' stamp on it.
11 months ago, I bought a competitors 100psi digital tire pressure gauge. Same exact head, bleeder, and fittings, just not brass, like the JACO Elite Pro I discovered a few months ago, and ordered and received last week.CONSTRUCTION:Build quality matches that of the competitor's version of this gauge, but JACO's brass connections and fittings do feel more substantial to me.FUNCTIONALITY:The two are identical in every way, except in how they read pressure as you bleed it from a tire: The other gauge takes much longer than the JACO to return a reading after you release the bleeder button. No need, as some reviewers have stated, to remove and reseat the gauge chuck on the tire valve. No need, as some reviewers have stated, to remove and reseat the gauge chuck on the tire valve. Both feature the same bright blue display, and the ability to select from different pressure scales: PSI, kPa, Bar, etc.The model I picked from JACO, the 100psi digital gauge, more than satisfies what I need a gauge to service: everything from 1960s bias-ply tire equipped cars with pressures as low as 20psi, up to temporary spare tires and light truck tires specifying 60-80psi.My only suggestion: As other reviewers have mentioned, add another 1-2 inches to the length of the hose between the gauge head and valve chuck, and you've got a winner.ACCURACY & RESOLUTION:It does read about 0.3-0.4psi higher than my Longacre Deluxe analog dial-face gauge - within JACO's own tolerance, but it can lead to slightly under-inflated tires, if you bleed tires down to exactly specified cold pressures. I really think this is an inherant flaw with digital/electronic pressure gauges, the reading high thing. My Longacre digital gauge reads up to 1psi higher than my mechanics Astro AI filler/gauge - my local reference piece. My suggestion: If your car B-pillar tire sticker specifies, IE, 33psi cold, then adjust the pressure to read 34psi with this gauge. That way, you'll really have 33.5-33.8psi in the tires. A reasonable compromise, in my estimation.Everyone, on automotive forums, and in person car repair, says that a tire gauge that resolves down to one-tenth PSI is "overkill" away from the race track, or outside of the military. I don't care. I enjoy the satisfaction of knowing I can dial in precisely 33.0 psi on a tire, vs 32 & 3/4 or 33 & 1/3psi on even the easisest to read precision dial-type gauge. And I can feel the difference, on local streets and on the highways. Thanks JACO - For a quality gauge under U.S. $40, and for shipping it out to me in under three days!
Have had this pressure gauge for about a month and have used it four times. Seems to be repeatable and constant psi readings. Mind you,I have had this gauge for a short time so I cannot report on longevity. I am happy with the build quality and functionality so far I like that it runs on AAA batteries. I bought the storage case also and would recommend buying one as it fits well, helps protect the gauge, and helps keep it clean. Gave four stars because I haven't had it very long..
On the good side, I like the thumb rest on the nozzle. It’s easy to get a good reading on rubber valve stems. I also like the auto off feature and resetting pressure with the “On” button. The display is easy to read and the gauge seems to be well made. On the down side, the gauge arrived in a paper envelope with no padding. Additionally, the upper and lower flaps on the JACO box were both partially open inside the envelope. While there was some bubble wrap around the gauge, it was not secured. Considering this a precision instrument, a little more care should’ve been taken prior to shipment. For example, there are envelopes lined with bubble wrap available at the Post Office, and the JACO box tabs should’ve had factory seals to prevent inadvertent opening in ... MoreOn the good side, I like the thumb rest on the nozzle. I purchased this to replace my existing digital pressure gauge that would turn off after one reading and not turn on again until I messed with the batteries. This gauge works perfectly. I like the fact that it takes AAA batteries and not button batteries like my previous gauge. The pressure gauge is easy to use and adjust the tire pressure when taking a reading. I like the fact that the reading holds until I reset it.I purchased two gauges, one for me and one for a gift. I tried both of them and they both read the same pressure reading. That makes me feel good about the accuracy of the gauge since they both read the same. I compared it to the one I am replacing and the pressure of my old one was 0.2 psi higher. Which one is the correct reading? I was shocked and impressed that it arrived as fast as it did. Will definitely come back to Jaco for future needs and will tell others in the market for a quality pressure gauge.
