This 2 player game is a great game for strategy, of course some luck involved. But in order to be the Maharaja's greatest personal trader, you best be making some sound decisions, cause camels won't cut it. It took me several games to grasp it, but its super addictive.Their is a digital version to get you up to speed if you like: google play or app store.Of course its always better in person, and the layout is cool. Highly recommend this, as I am glad my experienced board gamer brother, did for me.

This is a great game that works not only for my partner and I, but the kids (7 and 9) enjoy and win games when playing against us.The game is a great length and set-up is straightforward as it is a deck of cards and tokens.I've also started looking at how others condense it down for travel.Perhaps Jaipur's only flaw is its feature - this is a 2-player game - and while I don't think it would work with more people, it would be neat to play with a few others.

One of the best two-player card games, it's easy to learn and engaging. The game play is not too short nor too long. It's aesthetically very pleasing, the cards are beautifully illustrated and vibrant. I played with someone who isn't big on games and we were addicted! Highly recommended- this game would appeal to a wide range of people, adults and children.

Jaipur is an excellent two-player game of trying to outdo your opponent in the marketplace. Try to hoard the higher-value goods to sell for the highest prices, but don't neglect the cheaper ones either, because you get a bonus for selling in bulk. You will also acquire camels along the way that can help you acquire lots of goods at one time, but collect them at the wrong time and it means a prime opportunity for your opponent to get first dibs on a selection of new goods. Overall it's a great game that has good tension and back and forth between two players, while not being overly complicated and just enough randomness in bonus points to keep the end tense without being stressful. Highly recommend!
What a great little game! The balance of card drafting versus strategic hand management is excellent. Couple that with the blind point values of set collection, the hidden scoring, and the variable impact of cashing in the camel cards and it's easy to see why it's considered one of the best 2-player games out there. It packs quite the punch for a small, easy to learn game. This game is easy to learn, very deep, and has high replay.
This is a really excellent two player game, the mechanics are simple to pick up, but provide good tactical depth. Be prepared to be frustrated by camels. It doesn't suffer from too much analysis paralysis and keeps a good pace throughout. Provides a good bit of conversation throughout. Personally, I enjoy the original artwork slightly more and the component quality is really nice. Really good replay value, randomness of deck shuffling seems to keep the game fresh enough.
Jaipur is a simple hand management game for 2 players, and it is a favorite of mine. It almost feels like a reverse Splendor. Instead of collecting tokens to trade for cards, you're collecting cards to trade for tokens. Setup is very fast, and the components are nice! The box will not fit sleeved cards unless you modify or remove the (very nice) insert, but after many plays with no sleeves, there's still no wear on my cards.
A really wonderful two player game! For me it ticks all the right boxes for this genre; complicated enough to be thought-provoking and engaging, simple enough to be quick, strategic enough to make you think you can try another plan next time, beautiful, portable, cheap and really well balanced. You can tell this has had a lot of playtesting - every game is tense, close and lots of fun! It's not one to play all night long, but if you have one other person and 30-60 minutes this is perfect. I don't know what the first edition was like, but the presentation of this version is immaculate. The cards and tiles are extremely high quality, the artwork is both beautiful and functional (no colourblindness issues here) and the rules are really clear and thoughtfully laid out.
I’ve been searching for a game for 2 people that we can easily play in a camper van. It’s a beautiful game, really nice graphics and colours. The rules are explained and illustrated well, the small booklet was a great help when we weren’t sure about something. The game itself is relatively easy, but you can approach it with different strategies so it’s always exciting and competitive. We loved the fact that everything can change in the second or third round, no matter who won the first one. We are adults, but enjoyed it a lot. I think also for kids it would be fun!
SO much game in this little box! Just outstanding. I bought this copy for my son so he doesn’t have to borrow it from the library. 🙂 He taught me to play with that copy and he and his 8 year old son are loving it. Highest POSSIBLE recommendation!
