I love my new sewing machine - it’s really simple to use while having so many helpful features. I particularly love that the bobbin is visible so you can see how much thread is left on it, and not having to pull the thread through is a real bonus. One is that the hard case that comes with it doesn’t actually fasten - it just sits loosely over the top of the machine. I guess this is fine if you have a sewing room and can leave it out all the time, but it doesn’t work for someone like me who needs to store the machine in the loft when not in use. After my old machine was 20+ yrs old I decided to treat myself to a new computerised sewing machine and so far I have not been disappointed with my choice in this Janome 5060QDC. I just love the automatic needle threader and the automatic thread cutter. It has many stitch options and I feel it is ideal for craft work, soft furnishings as well dress making.

I have really enjoyed getting to know this machine. It's easy to use - I'm sure a beginner would quickly get to grips with it.I'll be using it mainly for patchwork piecing and have found it stitches well through multiple seams as well as producing a perfect scant 1/4" seam.The extras on this machine (including the stop/start facility, the push button thread cutter, and the patchwork-quilting kit) make it great value for money.

I had been using a vintage machine and in contrast this machine is so easy to use. I’m still a relative beginner but it has been very easy to set it up - the manual is very clear and I have been able to use it for a couple of projects already. I have gone from using the machine (vintage one) being a challenge, to the project being a challenge with the machine being a helpful tool to aid with the challenge. So far, I have used the machine for quilting projects and it has done everything I want, easily and with accuracy/precision. The quilting pack has been a very useful addition. I am very happy with the machine and would recommend it to others.
I am truly amazed by the difference this machine has made to my sewing. No threads to cut off, being able to sew without using a foot pedal and the automatic buttonhole foot alone have been game changers. I love being able to slow the machine down for those awkward corners to get perfect accuracy. It's actually relaxing to sew now knowing that I can trust my machine to perform exceptionally.
I have not been able to use my machine yet as it has to wait for my birthday. But everything about it , is wonderful. Brilliant sewing machine. I am fairly new to sewing and this sewing machine is fabulous. It is easy to use has all the functionality and all the feet I need. Also has extension table. I had an old vintage sewing machine before and this is so much easier. I can concentrate on learning techniques rather than having to worry about how to work the sewing machine
I hit a point where I had 1) run my old machine into the ground and 2) reached the limit of what my old machine could do so upgraded to this-- bang for buck it's above and beyond what I expected! Super easy to set up and I've already seen a dramatic improvement in the finish of my garments, used it to sew set dressing for a museum exhibition, and expanded what I can actually make confidently with stretch fabrics etc. Frankly worth the sticker price for the multiple one step buttonholes alone, although one of the black strips fell off my buttonhole foot after the first use and I need to reattach it. A GREAT machine.
This is a very good machine, I have other Janome machines and I bought this one as an upgrade to take to quilt classes. I have always been very satisfied with Janome for price and reliability. I bought this machine to replace my old second hand basic brother machine. I had made a quilt top and was keen to use this Janome to free hand quilt and it is not a disappointment. It comes with all the feet I could possibly need which makes it real value for money.The machine sews really well through multiple layers with the walking foot and it was easy to drop the feet. It is a really excellent machine and such a joy to sew without the foot peddle.It really is a great machine!
