I was looking to upgrade my sound, gently 'retire' some older JBL arrays and also let go of some of the very heavy powered speakers and their setups.. Weight of equipment is more of a concern these days BUT without compromising sound at all. I did a considerable amount of research, but as always, faithfully return to JBL for the exquisite sound and build quality (sorry Bose).. Looked seriously at the JBL PRX which is fantastic BUT the tradeoffs are weight vs sound and in my view the MK II is a great all-around array, sound is, as expected, PERFECTLY CLEAN and customizable .... I bought 2 of these recently after lots of research (as usual) and having more than enough experience in the industry since the late 80's, this was a bit of a no brainer.In a nutshell this is one of those products that you'll be glad you bought now and even years from now. I love the quality, versatility, portability, features and parameter controls which are unmatched at this price point let alone even even higher.It does and performs as expected, with great sound quality and dispersion, even beyond which is nice.I can take it anywhere literally and be good to go on battery for more time than required. The wireless Pro Connect is great although it is still evolving I'm sure JBL will keep refining it further.Would've been nice to have a slip cover included ... Sub is nice and deep not too punchy but controlled at all times, no distortion heard even with the lowest notes or frequencies so far.I hope it is reliable like my older JBL EON 10's which have never let me down.I've owned basically every major brand sizes and systems, from DJ events to Live Rock band events and them some when it comes to powered PA and this is a STAND OUT product right now in 2022 particularly in its respective category.Get one or a couple while you can. I bought a pair of jbl eon one compacts at the beginning on 2020 and they did there job but definitely missed a fuller sound. The bass was pretty bad on those units. I was skeptical to give this a shot until I tried it out at me local GC and it has a great sound. The mixer was easy for me to jump onto since I was familiar with the 5 channel mixer on the compacts. The delayed output option gave new life to my jbl eon one compacts as well. I can set them up 50 to 60 feet out and good an even crisp sound for outdoor events especially speaking situations. But I got this for wedding ceremonies to ditch the tripods and have a single source for coverage. It's better than I thought and I'll be buying a 2nd one soon. JBL still needs to come out with a battery powered sub that is solo. Make it work with this and the eon one compacts. If it could work in cardioid mode with this setup it would be a game changer for battery powered setups. I have always kept a battery backup system for my wedding events anyways and have had to use it once when the town lost power. This takes that system to the next level.

This sounded very similar to the Bose but was louder, more channels, more EQ, more effects and the option to run on battery putting the Bose out of contention. The evolve 30m sounded good, maybe slightly better bass but was $300 more at the time and didn't have the battery option. The app, however, is another story. First the sliders were very sensitive and was impossible to make small incremental adjustments. They put out an update and helped that but then that caused the app to disconnect if you minimized it and would take 12 seconds to reconnect. I don't use the app ... Were I to know this I may have spent the extra on the evolve 30m but I really like the option to run on battery and how the poles and speaker store in the base. I'm cautiously optimistic that maybe the next update will get it right.

Out of the box it wouldn't power on so I had to send it cross country on my dime to get the power switch replaced under warranty. Once I got it back I discovered the Bluetooth was spotty at best to the point where I'm uncomfortable using it for any professional purposes. It has less coverage than my Bose s1 pro provides at the same price point and the mic or amps seem to be pretty cheap. If your running a weird speaker, plan on running it through an external mixer to get an appropriate volume out of it. This item is brand new so I figured I would write a review (I don't normally write reviews so sorry if this is too long).First off, The unit is smaller than the dimensions advertised on everyone's websites (which is a really good thing). If you take a look at the JBL user manual PDF online it will have the correct dimensions in the specs sheet. The base unit is about 13 inches wide, 17 inches deep, and 24 inches high. The handle is very comfortable making it easy enough to even carry up a flight of stairs. MoreThis item is brand new so I figured I would write a review (I don't normally write reviews so sorry if this is too long).First off, The unit is smaller than the dimensions advertised on everyone's websites (which is a really good thing). If you take a look at the JBL user manual PDF online it will have the correct dimensions in the specs sheet. The base unit is about 13 inches wide, 17 inches deep, and 24 inches high. The handle is very comfortable making it easy enough to even carry up a flight of stairs. It does weigh right about 42 pounds but the handle makes it "feel a little lighter/maneuverable" if that makes sense.Next, this sounds great. For acoustic solos and duos and yes even sounds great for my keyboard - mono, but handles all the nuances very well off a piano, synth sounds, etc. It's got the lows you'd expect from a 10" bottom, and plenty of mids and highs with a wide dispersion as advertised. I bought this for two purposes, to use for solo or duo acoustic guitar gigs, and to act as my keyboard monitor or main, depending on if with the band or solo.The mackie srm flex, yamaha stagepas, and turbosound equivalents (i1000? - which I think is a bit louder) all sound great and can be eq'd to get you what you need in this price range. The reason I chose the jbl was it's only 10 lbs heavier than the Mackie srm flex (the lightest of the bunch), the column elements store inside the unit like previous eon one units, (so you really can carry the whole thing in one hand) and the mixer - built in simultaneous effects by lexicon, bass/mid/treble per channel and master parametric eq. Huge bonus is battery power if you need it, and the ios app is fantastic. No issues yet for me.I was concerned about the ease of use with the mixer being menu driven and having the same knobs serving different channels, however it's really easy to use and very intuitive after playing with it for about five minutes: you press the channel 1 knob, channel 1 one lights up, all the knobs function as labeled. Need to adjust the mids on channel 2? Press channel 2 knob, turn the knob labeled mid, and so on.The app gives you the added bonus of being able to "see" all your settings at once, but it's not necessary to use the app in practice.The effects sound great and are very adjustable and have many tweakable parameters. And importantly all three effects can be used at once on each channel and each effect with its own send level. (Effects are not available on channel 5.)One gripe - I would love to be able to buy a JBL cover for this unit, without having to buy the whole wheeled "transporter and cover" package for $179 or so.(To JBL: I get 42 pounds isn't for everyone but you market this as a one-hand carry unit, so why not provide an option to buy just a carry cover?)All the comparable brands that I mentioned above are likely just as reliable and do sound great, but again I chose this because yeah I'm a little impartial to JBL (I had the eon 610s which I also loved and other products), it's a truly one-hand carry with the column segments fitting nicely into the cabinet, excellent sounding choruses, delays, and reverbs, (and all the DBX feedback suppression and ducking - neither of which I've used yet), 3-xlr/combo jacks, and the option to run on battery.There are probably some features on here I may not use all the time, but I really don't think this unit will have me wanting for more anytime soon. (if you've read this far you've probably said that before too :-)
I bought a used version from a music store. This thing can get nice and loud. However the experience of trying to use it via the mobile app can be a pain. On occasion it can disconnect or the app stops working. This is after I got it fully up to date with the new firmware.However, the biggest issue I have is with microphones, it seems like I'd be better off running a mixer with preamps into it. And on the note of mixing, why doesn't this have any kind of meters? It would be nice to have a visual indicator of input gain and mix levels.
When I got this product, I realized first it needed the app which is the JBL total control for it to work. However, I realized after that I didn't have to use the app since my presets were saved. After my second use at an outdoor event for cocktail hour, I noticed that after having it at 50 percent I was able to raise the DBs which is the volume and the red light never started which is the clipping of the amp. I also went back to the app and was able to EQ the speaker in which after 8 hours of use the batter still had over 70 percent left. Also depending in the room, outdoor environment or even in a house acoustics vary. For the most part it works, and I'll continue to use it as intended for ceremonies indoor and outdoor as well as cocktail hour.
