STAGE A130 can be referred as epitome of " Bang for your Buck".I feel it was destiny that i had to own a pair of these Beasts.Yes, Beasts are what they are after break in ( Minimum 100 hrs of use is when these bloom & shine) Yet, out of the box they sound heavenly and for the 26k price these can't be beat . The sound reproduced is exactly how the creator wanted you to hear it, they do not colour the music in any way ( by adding artificial extra bass or shrill highs) Though lots of people like it that way. These deliver on all fronts and will shock you with the amount of low frequency ( bass) pumped out from a Bookshelf , it's really tight and punchy .The midrange and highs are crisp & clear and you can go on for hours without any sign of ear fatigue. Overall this is one speaker that's going to stay with me no matter how many other brands i add in future as these can be used as surrounds even then. I also own a pair of Diamond 225 Wharfs bought from HifiMart and would have never bought JBL as i considered them too commercial and not a brand for Audiophiles untill I read a review on AudioScienceResearch by Amir that got me interested.Incidentally at an office party i was gobsmacked hearing the smaller A120 create havoc,That was the day i pulled the trigger and it's been sheer pleasure ever since. However this pleasure has got me itching to try the A170/180/190 ( FloorStanders, which i consciously resist due to fear of pulling the trigger again 😁 )NOTE- Since these are back ported you need to work with correct placement to get the best SQ or use foam bungs.

For the $179.95 sale price, there is nothing comparable. They have a slight upper mid bump in the frequency response, but other than that, near perfect. Distortion numbers are insanely low even compared to speakers 3x their price!Excellent imaging, tonality, and sound staging. Highly recommend for the price!

The directions for using the binding posts as provided in the included owner's manual are not possible for using banana plugs. The plastic nut cannot be removed from the post and yet the directions have this removal as the 1st step before removing the plastic plug that blocks the banana jack's socket. It is possible using a knife edge to remove the plastic plug without removing the plastic nut. The manual does not inspire great confidence.

If youre looking for very high quality sound in a small package, this is the ideal pair of speakers. They have great highs and mids, and very responsive bass even without a subwoofer. I have them connected to an old Onkyo receiver and fill the room with sound with the volume knob barely turned up. You really cant beat these at the price theyre offered in. I highly recommend these.
The Stage A130 is seriously good, even at the full price of $299. I just set up a nearfield 2.1 desktop system with these paired to an Aiyima A07 mini integrated amp, an Elac 1010 sub, and a Fosi Audio DAC-Q4, all for about $500. It's amazing how good a cheap system like this can sound! If I were doing it again on the same budget, I'd change nothing.
I just bought my new stereo that sounds awesome and it's the Denon CEOL RCD-N10 mini stereo network. The speakers that came with it are admittedly very good however I wanted something that had some more Ummmphhh to it and that's where these JBL's came in and saved the day in every aspect. These Stage A130 JBL speakers are crisp clear true to form with excellent bass and tweeter response as well as perfect crossover sounds phasing from left to right were very accurate too. I also bought the JBL Stage A120 12" Subwoofer and it's a perfect combo that you will love for years to come. All these put together and I have a awesome sounding system to rock too with impeccable clarity at any volume. This is why JBL Monitor Speaker's are still the most used in 3/4 of Recording ... B&H delivered these JBL stage 130s quickly after order was placed. Hooked up to an old Onkyo TX4500 receiver, great sounding in my small office. A bit strong in the midrange, but with some eq adjustments on the amp, was able to flatten out the response. Strong bass for such a small cabinet. Would buy again.
Cracker of a speaker. Imaging is fantastic where ever you position them and bass reproduction is amazing. Top end is crisp but smooth. Theses speakers really rock and go pretty loud considering there size. Honestly these JBL A130 blew me away.
Already got the massive JBL A190 Stage speaker in one part of the room and wanted a little bit of surround sound to the other side and these little babies are great and match my others. When playing them as a pair they are just as good and would be perfect for a bookshelf or bedroom system. I highly rate JBL.
I bought these blind with a hunch that the JBL name and the lightweight cones plus aluminium tweeters might deliver a 'fast' and articulate sound. I am not disappointed. They take a few hours to bed in, and initially sound a bit 'stiff'. Like many speakers they need to loosen up. But they convey music really well, especially at the price. They are not over 'polite' and neither are they blatantly aggressive or bright in delivery. They come together as a system and given sympathetic placement their shortcomings and colourations are of no great concern. I'd highly recommend them.
