I received these Tune Buds as a gift from a my workplace and I was very excited to use them. My current/ancient computer speakers are JBL and I am in love with them. I've had since about '98 and they are very well designed, sturdy and they have a wonderful, rich fullness to the sound they produce. I hope they last forever. Because of this, I've been on the fence and curious about purchasing a bluetooth speaker or more from JBL, so I thought this gift would be a perfect, risk-free dabble into more of their products. To start, I am unable to get these to stay in my ear, which seems like a basic, "first thing" when it comes to ear buds. Despite being marketed as "in-ear", these actually rest more on the inner ear cartilage, which causes a great deal of discomfort ... MoreI received these Tune Buds as a gift from a my workplace and I was very excited to use them. Despite being marketed as "in-ear", these actually rest more on the inner ear cartilage, which causes a great deal of discomfort after a short period of time while using them. They are very lightweight, which would be ideal, but this just adds to the problem when a slight head shift sends them flying. The design also lacks any "ridges" or anything conducive to a "button", so the smooth touch features are very, very sensitive. I find I am fiddling more with this product than I am concentrating on any task, so they're more of an annoyance and a chore to use, than anything. When they are in, they sound quite abysmal. It's a very cheap and tinny sound. Even when listening to audiobooks or someone simply speaking, say, a speech for example, they are very "airy" and metallic. One of the modules controls a sound mode that makes it seem as if TV static is constantly on in the background. I find even though I always turn this feature off, my hair must be brushing against it, because there's constantly noise playing over whatever I choose to use them for. There's always something fuzzing up any silence. I can't stress enough that it has very sensitive controls, and for something that's constantly moving, shifting or falling out, it makes them almost unusable. I have a pair of Sony bluetooth headphones, they don't sound very good, but at least they function as ear buds should, just pop in, push a button and listen. There are so many cons with this product, I am very happy I did not pay for these. This was very disappointing and will likely be my last foray into any new JBL products. It's sad, seems as if there has been a definite decline in product quality. I still love my old computer speakers, though.

Bought these on sale, despite a few negative reviews, and wanted so badly to love them. I hate to admit it, but the negative reviews were spot on. I tried for days to get them to comfortably fit in my ears, but nothing ever worked. I tried all 3 different sizes — none would keep them in my ears. No matter what I tried, the earbuds would fall out constantly. Annoying. The left earbud’s connection was spotty at best. The earbuds connect to your device as soon as you open the case (annoying, but not a deal breaker). I kept noticing that the right one would turn on, but 9/10 times the left one wouldn’t do anything. No light, no sound, nothing. I’m not even sure it was charging. I would have to toggle Bluetooth off and on again, forget the headphones, then re-pair. ... MoreBought these on sale, despite a few negative reviews, and wanted so badly to love them. Sometimes the left one would turn on after this, but most of the time it wouldn’t. When I realized I was watching YouTube tutorials trying to figure out how to make these work properly, I finally decided to just return them. Nothing should require this much effort and frustration, BRAND NEW, straight out of the box. Thankfully, Target customer service is great and the return was a breeze.

It helps to google what the specs means to understand what you are getting. The only thing that surprised me was the size (comp corded in-ear)... I purchased online, but I'm still really happy with them. Purchased in white :-) Purple would have rocked my world :-D

I bought these to replace/upgrade from a prior model, mainly due to waining battery life of my older jbls. These seemed like a basic and logical next step, as I rather enjoy jbl products.Upon receiving, I immediately noticed they changed the shape of the piece that rests inside the ear canal from circular to oval, so there’s never a sound proof seal or snug fit, regardless of earpeice attachment, they loosely just kind of dangle. Also, this piece is now designed so shallow, these are constantly falling out or just letting in all the noise outside. This completely defeats the purpose of the earbuds, and renders to sound utterly garbage. Not to mention there’s also white noise feature? To add to all the sound and mess that isnt music or an audio book. I bought these ... MoreI bought these to replace/upgrade from a prior model, mainly due to waining battery life of my older jbls. To add to all the sound and mess that isnt music or an audio book. I bought these headphones block out sound and listen to things, now they not only let tons of outside noise in and fall out, but they let in background sounds and produce their own, as well? Who designed these? I avoid apple’s pods because that functionality really seems counter productive to the point of headphones. Now jbl has caught that trend and is just as worthless.A cheap random pair from some dollar store will have the same sound and anti-user friendly design, so save your moneyThese are a really bad, bad product.
The pros:• The sound quality for these earbuds is impressive, especially considering their form factor. The overall range is what I would expect for much larger devices (such as over the ear headphones), as well as the warmth and tone of sound. The mic is pretty good too—people I called said that the sound was clear and not an issue at all.• The app adds a lot of additional features, and my favorite is the equalizer. Once the app is installed, you can choose from among several pre-set equalizer modes (jazz, vocal, bass, club, studio, or extreme bass) or can create your own custom settings. Depending on what type of music I’m listening to (or whether it’s an audiobook, phone call, or video conference), I find myself adjusting the equalizer to enhance the sound… and ... MoreThe pros:• The sound quality for these earbuds is impressive, especially considering their form factor. Depending on what type of music I’m listening to (or whether it’s an audiobook, phone call, or video conference), I find myself adjusting the equalizer to enhance the sound… and love that I can clearly distinguish the differences and that the visuals help me better understand what I’m adjusting and why it’s making a difference.• I have small ears and usually struggle with earbuds like these, but this set is super lightweight and comfortable and stays in pretty well. I can leave these in for a couple of hours while walking around without having to constantly adjust them back into place, which is a huge plus, but I doubt they’d stay in if I was heading out for a run or anything that would bumps them out.• The active noise cancelling is fine, but not amazing. There’s a clear difference between ANC, ambient aware, and talk through. The ANC blocks most noise, but not everything—maybe 80% effectiveness or so. It’s better than you can generally find with this type of earbud, so I don’t think this is unreasonable at all… and I probably need to test out different eartips for a while to see if that helps.• I love that the app allows you to decide what gestures on each earbud control. I also appreciate that there’s a max volume limiter to help protect your hearing… something I’m Increasingly thinking about. The cons:• I wish the case and a little loop or something that would make it easy to use a mini carabiner to attach it to a keychain to make it easy to carry all of the time. I know I could buy a silicone cover with a carabiner, but I wish it were possible to just attach a mini carabiner to the original case since it seems plenty sturdy without additional protection.• The first time I used these for a phone call, it’s almost as if the earbuds were slightly out of sync. I could still engage in the conversation just fine, but the slight delay was a bit distracting. I’m hoping this was just a first-use fluke since it hasn’t been a problem since then (after 3 days of use with several hours each day).
I bought this model 2 weeks ago for a trip. Figured I'd give in-ear headphones a try for the flight. Bought it on a hunch since I wasn't able to try them. Such a bad move. As many others have stated they just did not stay on. I kept having to re-adjust (aka out them back into my ear) them every few minutes. Even with all the different sizes...none were able to stay on. Then during the flight one side dropped out. I along with two flight attendants were unable to find it - even after everyone disembarked from the plane (Note: I filed a lost and found with the airline and theu have yet to find it) So as it stands I'm out of luck. I contacted JBL Canada and they don't offer replacements. On top of that I also got the extended warranty through Staples and they won't ... MoreI bought this model 2 weeks ago for a trip. So very disappointing to hear you don't offer that. So I'm out the amount I paid for the buds plus the extra insurance. I wish I did a bit more research on these in-ear buds. Really poor product here JBL. I definitely do not recommend this product and I won't be buying another JBL again.
The earbuds have amazing sound quality and a very long battery life. The base is strong, especially for a pair of earbuds. Unfortunately, these are the only positive things I can say about these earbuds. My first and biggest complaint is that these earbuds are very fragile. I accidentally dropped the right earbud once from a height of approximately 4 feet while returning it to the charging case and it now barely plays any sound. Maybe I was unlucky, but either way the right earbud is now virtually unusable. Furthermore, the earbuds do not fit very well in my ears, especially while walking around. The weight distribution is not great and they always feel like they are about to fall out while I walk. This is not a problem while stationary. I could recommend these earbuds only if you plan to use earbuds while working at a desk and have an abundance of caution, but that almost defeats the purpose of having bluetooth earbuds. Overall, I would purchase a different pair because these are certainly not worth the asking price.
I dropped these bad boys into a fresh hot cup of tea by accident, case and all, fully submerged. After letting them dry they still work perfectly fine! They also sound great, the noise cancelling is perfect for my loud work environment (we're allowed to listen to music where I work) and the battery life lasts me all week.I've had these about 2 years now and they work as good as the day I bought them.I'm always listening to music or YouTube videos at work, home, and to help me sleep. Because of that I had to get more comfortable ear buds than the ones with sticks, since they'd make my earlobes hurt. But these don't hurt at all! They stay in my ears pretty well too. They're not impossible to come loose, don't get me wrong, but I don't feel like I'm constantly ... MoreI dropped these bad boys into a fresh hot cup of tea by accident, case and all, fully submerged. All while being relatively cheap in comparison to some of their more high-end products too, which mostly feature that annoying stick or a shorter battery life. These are definitely worth their money, so much so I'd have bought a new pair if I'd have lost mine to that fateful cup of tea. Lucky for my clumsy self, they're water resistant!
