Jean Paul Gaultier has been experimenting with Le Male flankers for quite some time now, so one shouldn't be surprised to find out the general public was rather skeptical of this release, coming off the heels of Le Male Terrible and Le Beau Male. Both of those offered something different than the original, sort of, Terrible being a permanent release of a limited summer formula with a little tinkering; and Beau being a rather soft and weak green spring juice with the lavender, wormwood and musk dominating but not impressing the average consumer. Both were widely panned at the time of their release. Gaultier's staff finally seem to have been paying attention to the target market of 30 and under consumers with the release of Ultra. This is 1 Million and L'Homme Intense in its heavy reliance on spicy sweetness and powerful radiance meant for the club circuit. The pear in this makes Ultra rather unique, despite sticking to a rather commercial and standard formula. This pear note is rather shocking in its balance with the rest of the heavier accords, Kurkdijan deserves a good deal of recognition and credit for balancing the whole accord and not taking it in uglier directions after the top notes dissipate like in One Million. Instead you get a very steady, rather linear club and night scent that knows its bounds but remains a top performer and projection monster without really being a monster at all. The longevity here is outstanding, at 10-12 hours with just 2-3 sprays and sillage is top-flight, but not overbearing like so many other releases born of the same blood. The sillage on Ultra can best be described as a restrained powerhouse, the balance so brilliantly executed by Kurkdijan that this lacks the imposing qualities of the original vintage Le Male potion. The vanilla is still there, the lavender, mint and cinnamon as well, but Ultra takes something very familiar here and injects a major innovation with the pear note, a note that lasts well into the heart of Ultra Male. A great alternative for those of you looking for something for the winter that could work as a club, date or work scent as long as you are conservative on the trigger. Scent: 5 Longevity: 4.75 Sillage: 5 Originality: 4.5 Overall Quality: 5 An outstanding flanker and improvement on previous false starts by the Gaultier house. Not as original or innovative as Kokoriko, but by playing it safer here and focusing their energies on composition and balance, they've found something original and familiar at once that performs outstandingly, especially in the context of its mid 2010's contemporaries.

This Product is amazing! Hands down my favorite scent of all time! The fruitiness and the freshness of the pear are wonderful. Very sweet vanilla and amber, almost like bubblegum! A few sprays will go so far as well, so it'll last you a while. People can smell you from the other room, this stuff is so strong. It will give you a headache if you over spray it, however, so be careful not to suffocate a whole room. Great for nights out, anytime of the year really. Partying, dates, you name it. My favorite thing has to be the bottle design, however. One of the most unique and cool looking bottles out there. JPG has created a masterpiece.

The scent is an amazing kinda bubblegummy sweet and you can also sense the pear, it is great for teens and it's great especially for the club. It's definetily one of the best clubbing scents. When we talk about the performance... pff it's a beast definetily, it projects crazy good for a very long time, and the longjevity is amazing. I get around 10h longjevity on skin, pretty much the whole day. But on clothes it's like eternal, i could still smell it on my jacket after a whole week. The packaging design is beautiful, the high quality feel can and the bottle are both very unique and stylish. But the issues is the projection is too weak, I need to put my nose onto my clothes to smell it, looking at the fragrantika reviews it says it has godly projection performance, but this one, I sat next to my sister she says she doesn't smell anything lol... Disappointing.UPDATE : Sometimes when I sprayed, the nozzle sprays stream instead of mist. Wth is this shittt bruv??? 😭

Ultra Male gets a lot of hype as a clubbing fragrance, but it’s much more versatile than that. It’s sweet—but not as over-the-top bubblegummy or juvenile as it’s made out to be. The lavender and spices add depth and darkness to the fruity top and creamy vanilla. Given some of its more gourmand my notes, it’s surprisingly fresh. And good. Outside of funerals or really serious business deals, this could be a daily for fall through spring, and even summer evening with light sprays. Performance is good—both in terms of projection and longetivity. Good for a night out or a full workday.

After not being able to get my hands on the product anywhere, I settled for 9pm and signed up for the wait list. As soon as I seen available i pounced on that bad boy!.. The team at FS and the products i have purchased in the past have always been a hit. Never any issues.. This one is just not it. After opening the box, everything seemed 100%. Opened the can and sprayed on the product. Smelled awesome and I was so happy!. 1 hr later, not so much. For what is deemed a "powerhouse/beast" it did nothing on my skin after an hour. Then i went checking, looked all over and found that their is a sticker on the bottom of the can (QR code) that is covering up an etched out QR code. Can't comment on if this is a fake, but why would this be? The pear, Lavender, and Mint make a great combination in the opening. In the mid, the cinnamon is the prominent note followed by the vanilla which becomes the prominent note in the full dry down. Patchouli and Amber are there but more in the background.
