Jim Beam Devil's Cut Bourbon 700ml

To be upfront I have never been much of a whiskey drinker so I don't know if if it is really good or not. This 5 ⭐ is more for what I believe the intention was. For me it's had usually been beer or gin. That's not because I didn't like other types of alcohol it was because I just found what I liked the most and stuck with that.Recently I have gotten into making my own bbq sauce and one of the ingredients I used was whiskey so I have had it on hand which led me to drink it more.Compared to most of the others I have had it burns more, taste stronger and has a harsher taste. The only other whiskey I have had that has had more of a burn was something called whicked pickle. A whiskey that has been aged with pickling spices which includes peppers. Give this one a chance.If you are a newbie to whiskey and decide to start with this know it will be hard but take it easy with sips and 1/2 way through a small bottle you will be ok with it. M

Ive geen trying to find a middle line steal kinda like between high shelf and not bottom shelf, bourbon is bourbon how can you go wrong!? Sometimes i taste the cheap fructose taste eveb in top sheld and i attribute it down to cheap or shoddy blending i maybe wrong and i have before when letting some air out and it kills that cheap rubbing alcohol taste. Ok ive tried several brands and finally came up with Wild Turkey 101, which i still consider more bang for your buck, bit this devils cut was more cheaper and will give WT101 a run for its money, WT101 is in a class of its own, but i bought this when i noticed no 101 around and ive bought it before and come to the same conclusion this is a steal considering flavor, comparing to the higher ends this has it. Ferocious but not excessively hot

I don't like bourbon or beam, but this specific one truly surprised me. I enjoy the strong scent, which is woody and oaky but not overtly spicy. The rye freshness finishes off the kick quite nicely. Yes, a lot in fact!

Good 6yr. old 90 proof KY Bourbon Whiskey

Just tried JB Devil's Cut, this is almost identical to JB Black extra aged. Just a few differences....JB Black is aged 6 to 8yrs and at 86 proofBasic Vanilla & Carmel, kind of a sweet oak taste & with char. Now Devil's Cut is blended with the 6 yr old JB Black, and the extra sweet bourbon that stays in the wood barrels is then mechanically extracted from those white oak barrels & proofed at 90.So it's the best of both worlds....The Vanilla & Carmel are there, as well as the char. But there seems to be a hint of cereal taste to. It is a sweeter oak tasting than JB Black. The viscosity / mouth feel for both, are a hair thin to a light medium body. Hella Boss Bourbon

Opened my first-ever bottle of Devil's Cut, poured it over the rocks, and via my tongue and in my mouth it told me, "Sit down, sonny boy, and obey your boss!" That would normally seem a presumptuous thing to say to a bourbon fan, age 69 (going on 70), however, pre-diluted it had many flavor characteristics of the best bourbons I ever tasted, and the explosive flavor and mouthfeel was relentless until it mellowed as the ice melted. I can't fully agree with those who detected "sweet"-ness, but that's not a priority for me in whiskey, so no prob there. Evan Williams remains my fallback for Jack...er, Evan and Coke, but Devil's Cut is my new call for on-the-rocks, or soda if preferring to start slowly.

I have to admit, I am actually quite shocked at how much I like this after reading the negative reviews on here. I feel like some of those individuals are being a bit melodramatic, in all honesty. At 90-proof, this bourbon has just enough abv to it that you get a little something added to the overall experience that the 80 proof varieties lack, but it is not at all as overpowering as some have contended. It's also not as sweet. My chief complaint about Jim Beam Black (which I love for mixing with Cola) is that it is too sweet; the dominant flavor by far being brown sugar, and nothing else. Devils Cut has some residual sweetness as well, but not so much that it blankets everything else. My favored bourbon of late

Whiskey is consumed straight from the bottle by me (glass only plz). I prefer to take my time getting acquainted with new things when I drink. a rapid gargle, a quick half-swallow, a swish through the gums, and the belly test. Every test is easily passed via The Devil's Cut! The complexity is unsurpassed, and the fluidity is excellent. Regardless of price, this bourbon is the best available.

One of the two whiskeys I'll have at most

In general, I detest whiskey. Most whiskeys don't appeal to me. There are, however, two that I adore. Jim Beam Apple is one. The other, though, is Devil's Cut. Rich and sweet but not overly so, it is. peppery and oaky in flavor. It's outstanding in every way.

I give Devil's Cut five ribbons for one reason. I am a scotch person. Smoky peaty sweetness. I have *never* liked bourbon. Flat notes dying mid-tongue, leaving me wondering why I had bothered. But a friend convinced me to try Devil's Cut. Confession: I have since purchased a bottle. Strong oak and - here I disagree with some reviews I have read - vanilla. Vanilla is a strong flavor; something we often fail to recognize because we use it so sparring and rightly so because it can overpower other flavors easily. The oak and vanilla make Devil's Cut delightfully - dare I write devilishly? - spicy. But there are soft notes at the edges of the tongue hinting a sweetness and a full range of flavors across the palate. The most amazing whiskey I've ever had

The bourbon I now prefer most. I only recently become aware of it. I now buy it frequently because it has become my go-to table whiskey, and I will continue to do so. It has the personality, intensity, and complexity I enjoy in a bourbon and was bottled at the proof I prefer (90). No mixers are used when I drink this, just plain. Congratulations to Jim Beam for creating this excellent whiskey. Win-win situation.
