Sephora's samples and deluxe samples that they give out once you've spent over a certain amount of money are SO good to have. I do all of my skincare, makeup and body product shopping online. Rarely do I ever need to return something. If it's not the right shade for me, or I'm not impressed with a product I give it to my daughter. Safe to say she has a ton of stuff. I usually have 2-3 Sephora orders weekly delivered and my makeup case is literally overflowing. One of my New Year resolutions is to start using up all of a product before buying multiple items that do the same thing. I'm running out of space. My ... One of the many things I appreciate about their fragrances is that they all wear well on their own, but they also layer really well with other fragrances, both inside and outside their line. Just be mindful, that with all fragrances, the best way to test them out is by applying them directly on top of bare skin. Most fragrances do not smell the same on everyone. Anyway, without further adieu...Upon initial application, this cologne is very green, bright, and crisp. I was not impressed, because it was very reminiscent of 154 in their line, which I already own. I was a little disappointed, because I had done a lot of research on this product. There is no boutique near me, Jo Malone does not send out samples, and I didnt want to have to return a used fragrance.However, once it dried down, it transformed into this sexy, woody, and earthy borderline mossy scent that I cant get enough of. I read somewhere that there were some notes or hints of spice, but I dont detect any when I wear it. I feel like I detect some vetiver as well, but that could just be me. In some ways, it reminds me of Aqua di Gio, which I love on both my husband and myself. As a woman, I love to wear colognes because of my body chemistry. Most fragrances marketed for women are too powdery, floral, or cloyingly sweet on me.Ive been in search for a fragrance like this for quiet some time, and Im so happy to add this to my collection. Its still clean, but not soapy or aldehydic. Its very smooth and the sillage is very unyielding. I can smell it on my sweaters and coats for quite sometime and I can smell it until the next day.Ill also note that this is not a gourmand fragrance. Ive seen some reviews of disappointed consumers hoping it would be nutty and sweet because of the hazelnut, but the hazelnut is what lends its vibrant, crisp, and green opening notes.I hope this helps
I want to start off this review by saying I just repurchased my second bottle. However I buy Jo Malone fragrances because I enjoy the smells, not because I think these are high performance fragrances. This is a unisex green scent that lasts around 2-3 hours on the skin. I do overspray and have found that when I spray it on my clothes I can sometimes smell it on there the next day. This was my first love from the brand and have never smelt anything similar or like it. If this is in your budget and easily obtainable in your current lifestyle then I’d say go for it. These are cologne intensities so they are made to be light. Because of this I find that I can layer this beautifully with my other Jo Malone scents or fragrances. I wanted something fresh, subtle, and a crowd-pleaser and I definitely found all that in this fragrance.Wood Sage & Sea Salt is a salty forest, green forward but in a soft pleasant way. In some way, it smells like the ocean without being aquatic! Maybe more of an east coast ocean vibe. This fragrance doesn't lean masculine or feminine, just the perfect balance. It is definitely a closer-wearing scent, and it doesn't leave a big scent trail.
