Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin Cologne Spray 3.4 oz / 100 ml

This fragrance is absolutely exquisite. It's light and crisp, a really fresh botanical scent that smells like the English garden of your imagination. All Jo Malone scents are a little unusual, but this fragrance clean and unexpected, and almost doesn't smell like a perfume. The packaging feels so luxe, with a textured box and a lush black and ivory color scheme. Anyone would be delighted to receive this fragrance as a gift, and we should all indulge in a little luxury every day.

Completely unique smell!

As a first time Jo Malone user this fragrance completely blew me away but not at first. It takes a day or two for the nose to get used to the uniqueness. It reminds me of lime scented champagne! There is nothing else out there that smells like it. It takes smelling "fresh and clean" to a whole new level. Best when worn with a tab of Pom Noir Bath Oil to make it last longer. It's completely unisex and it works well with almost any other fragrance or body cream to inject a blast of freshness and luxury to your day.

Disappointing

This was bought as a birthday gift for my mum who requested it after having used the body lotion and loving the Lime Basil & Mandarin smell. Sadly, the gift is being returned because the colgone simply does not last. I had read some other reviews saying the same but kept my fingers crossed JM may have corrected that. Sadly not. Mum gave up wearing it within a couple of days because all traces of fragrance were gone within an hour - not want you want in a perfume and certainly not one of this price! Really disappointing from an expensive brand - you are better off buying a cheaper option that actually lasts.

My forever fragrance

I have been wearing this since December 2004, since I read this amazing article about Jo Malone in that month's Vanity Fair. I layer it sometimes with other Jo Malone fragrances: English Pear & Freesia, Wood Sage & Sea Salt, and Grapefruit (sometimes I wear these ones alone, too). The scent profile actually changes depending on which you spray first. It is simply the best fragrance ever and I am constantly told by my husband and friends how good I smell. It lasts all day and well into the night. Love it!

Nor for me.

As unique as it may be, it's not a great smell. Unlike one would expect from something containing Lime... this is not fresh at all. It has a herbaceous tinge- and not in a fresh spicy way... but rather in an overpoweringly... limp celery kind of way. All the Jo Malone fragrances i've used/sampled has poor sillage and poor longevity. For the same money, buy something with better performance, rather.

Upon opening my 100ml bottle I was pleasantly surprised by the aroma. I could smell the Lime, Basel and Mandarin and thought I'm going to enjoy wearing this, but I'm sorry what a letdown. I know with niche fragrances sometimes you can't smell them yourself, but the aroma is given off to people with your space or in passing. No luck with this as you wouldn't really know you've actually sprayed this on within an hour. It does linger a bit longer on clothing, but that's not great. I do like my fragrances to be a bit different, but I'm sorry Jo on this occasion it's not one I would purchase again. I have persevered but still not great.
