For a budget whiskey, and not as a Johnnie Walker fan at all - this is actually quite a surprising whisky - and a little off-brand in terms of taste for JW. This has a light smoke and a sweet and subtle aftertaste. If you're after something to work up to a proper single malt, this is a good stepping stone, and a nicer drop if you're just up for some fun - a great upgrade from a bottle of red (which is great for degreasing engine blocks btw).

This is a very smooth scotch in my eyes! Would recommend this drink.
Bought it on special and was surprised by the character of this Scotch. It lacks the depth of an aged single malt but it has a nice peatiness and some really interesting flavours. Excellent value.

As a newcomer to the world of scotch I highly recommend this smokey liquor, it differs from the other Johnnie labels, as the double black sends you these beautiful woody - smokey textures and flavors that make it very enjoyable to drink neat, on the rocks or with a mixer. A perfect beginners drink or for a scotch connoisseur .
