I have been waiting to use a product like this. Being able to compress all of my kitchen trash would help me out a great deal when I create plenty of trash in my kitchen. Now when I’m putting twice as much trash in my trash cans on trash pickup day, I will be having a big smile on my face when placing my trash cans on the curb.

• Your advertising claims to comapct to 1/3rd when in reality it squashes it a bit - which mostly bounces back up afterwards - its no more effective then just giving the rubbish a good push with your hand.• Also the bag tends to become detached as you go through this process - which is then fiddly to reattach.• Today the bag ripped - which was the final straw• Lastly the bag is way more fiddly to fit than a normal bin bag• We are emptying our bin more often than we were before (as its a smaller bin) and once we empty it into the outside bin it takes up just as much space! So in summary - doesn't do what its supposed to, ridiculously expensive and a huge waste of our timeI would like the bin collected and a full refund

The bin itself is nice and neat, good quality and the compacting works (for the most part). The one gripe I have with this bin is that the bags are not strong enough to take repeated rubbish compression. If you imagine that you are compressing rubbish consistently over a period of days, the contents become heavy. When it comes to unhooking the bin liner and pulling the bag out it more often than not rips somewhere or the 'strings' break.Stronger bags and strings are required.

The compactor does not really compress the rubish well, when you compact the rubish, it goes all the way down and once the handle for the compactor is raised, the rubish comes up to you he same level it was at.Apart from this it is well designed and the foot paddle works perfectly, raising the lid gently and apon release of the foot paddle the lid goes down gradually.
How about compacting cans ? If it doesnt, I will be very desapointed as a special designed dustbin like this is of no use for compacting just papers and small meal boxes...and far too expensive then. It's the first time I try to compact as I got it last week and I'm disappointedI've already recommended this to friends...I think I 'm going to moderate my opinion if you have to sort what you put into (after first sorting recycled items, and glass etc etc)but maybe I did it wrong ?
The concept is great however the build quality is not. The outside material will ding at the slightest hit and looks like "trash" after a year or more. The compactor itself is temperamentally the spring and hinge that slides the compactor down, will come apart! And be sure to keep your receipt since their Joseph & Joseph will not speak to you without one! To boil it down, there are others options on the market don't waste you time it's not worth the effort.
The main sell - compacting waste, doesn’t work. It makes little to no difference to the volume of the waste mass. Push it down and the bin waste mass bounces back up again. Pointless
I loved the concept of being able to compress my trash in effort to save bags and perhaps room on my trash bin… but nope… bags slide off handle as I am trying to compress trash and making a mess. If I make sure not to overfill bag before I compress, bag still slides off and I constantly need to pull and place back. I find myself using more bags than I usually would. This trash can is not worth $175. I wish I could return.
I like the idea of a trash bin compactor. But since this is the only one I've seen I bought it. It is not as user friendly as the video shows. Here are my reasons why would not buy again. 1. The bags are thin and tear easily. 2. Their bags are the only ones that fit. 3. Installing the bags is a chore, takes too long to put them in and take them out. And top things off... the compact part doesn't compact its a bad design. I took a full bag out and it was the same as my regular trash bin. I keep them next to each other I wanted to see a difference and there wasn't any. Least I forget my first bin came packed in layers and when I got to the box opened...it had a GIANT dent in the side. But the box was not damaged. Go figure? Nutshell it keeps pushing the trash right ... MoreI like the idea of a trash bin compactor. But since this is the only one I've seen I bought it. Nutshell it keeps pushing the trash right back up to the top no matter how many times you push it down. This is such a Great Idea but its in a poor design. FYI I have an idea for a design that would make it a lot more efficient feel free to contact me ..or not I'll just keep fixing the issue for myself and the fix would be minimal to the product.
I've had this bin for a couple of months now and have been really trying to love it. It's great how it compacts the rubbish but sadly the filter part dropped off within 5 minutes of having it. I found it and put it back on but since then it's dropped into the bin and been lost forever. The lid doesn't close if its on a slightly uneven surface. Loads of stuff falls down the sides on the bin bag and goes mouldy in the bottom of the bin. And the bags they provided are really flimsy. The bags get quite heavy as they're so compacted, when you pull them out, they break.
