This versatile grater has been designed to adapt to different grating tasks and foods with ease. Firstly, it has two different styles of etched stainless-steel blade set either side of its grating surface. Secondly, its handle has two different grating positions for maximum convenience. With the handle locked in the straight position, it is ideal for grating directly over plates and dishes. But when you twist and lock the handle 90 degree it creates a naturally sturdy shape for resting on the worktop, providing support when grating larger quantities of food. It comes with a reversible plastic sheath that protects the blades when stored but can be flipped to allow you to collect and measure grated food. This version has a Coarse blade which is ideal for vegetables and hard cheeses and fine blade for citrus zest, cheeses and chocolate. Dishwasher safe. I hate to say it, but between the college degrees that both my husband and I hold together, this item was WAY TOO CONFUSING to use! I just needed to zest a lemon. After trying to get it out of the package, reading the ingredients and actually starting it was a minimum of 20 minutes. 5 minutes into zesting a lemon, I was getting nowhere, so just peeled the darn thing. If I wouldn't have used it I would return it. COMPLETELY USELESS.

Parts of the sharp metal edges stuck out so far that when I put the cover on, then tried to take it off, the cover stuck. Not realizing the issue, once I did get the cover off the grater had grated the cover! Little plastic pieces everywhere. Needless to say, this is being returned. Too bad; I like the design with the twist handle.

I really liked the look and size of this product. Unfortunately I have found it to be dangerously sharp. I have badly cut my thumb on it twice, and I am an experienced cook who is used to very sharp knives!!I have a mandolin (with a guard of course) and have not had an accident.I really think this product should have a guard similar to a mandolin.I am disappointed as the style of use is veryattractive. I'm afraid I will be returning this product to my local store.

My box grater was collapsing after many years faithful service. Tried this as Joseph Jospeh products tend to be well thought out. Very sharp, so always replace cover. Easy to hand wash. I don't put my best knives in dishwasher so won't put grater in. Best features - the safety cover converting to collecting box and the swivel handle to prop blades at handy angle.
The handle bend is brilliant and for this reason I have purchased this for the second time. On the down side my last one suddenly became blunt. Replacement metal parts would be great in this save plastic world.
This grater is very sharp, so you have to be careful. I've used it at all angles, and find that it's quite hard to grate in a straight line - the food tends to move diagonally in line with the cutters, and it's very easy to grate a finger nail along with it! The two sizes are fairly good for most things, but the coarse side is not coarse enough for apples, which turn to mush.The protective sheath is a good idea for storage, and you can turn it round to collect your gratings, but only small amounts. A fair portion of grated cheese just sticks together in a lump and goes all over the place when you remove it.
I was looking for a new cheese grater having broken my last one.I wanted something that would contain the cheese and was not happy with the larger square graters because of the seals which I was not sure would last.The Joseph twist blade fits the bill and is very easy to use.A clever design allows a support handle to come into use for stability and there is a "holder" under the blade.To be fair the holder could be bigger but once used to it no problem.
This is fabulous grater had the old style triangle one for years needed a new one so purchased thisWith the plastic collection cover on it is great No mess
Makes prep quicker and easier.Perfect for garlic and ginger in all health conscious recipes!Hangs up and takes up no space.Would definitely recommend.
Handy and well designed. Sits on bowl well without moving or resting on chopping board. Twisted handle design innovative. Durable build. Smaller holes used to grate frozen ginger piece beautifully
