K&N makes quality products, but overall have the best oil filters on the market in my opinion and nothing beats the quality, even if it's a little more money then most filters out there you get nothing but the best filtering and and performance from your vehicle.Used on my 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan SXTOil Filter: HP-7026

This goes on my 1997 Club Car FE292 engine. The K and N holes are actually bigger than the stock oil filter. which means on an air cool engine I get quicker turnaround on cooling and faster on lubrication. The fan on the engine is forced air. So cooling isn't a problem it's finding the oil. And the oil filter. I also run this type filter not this part number on my Harley Davidson. It also loves this oil filter. It runs 200 in the summer time and 150 In the Winter Before with the old oil filter it was 175 in the Winter.

I've used K&N filters before and appreciate the nut which allows the use of a socket, although it appears to be an inch which requires the use of a 26mm socket. It's a bit too rounded to allow the use of a spanner, assuming I had one in the required size. It's especially appreciated at oil and filter change time because it's usually harder to get the old filter off than fit the new one. I also appreciated that it was around the same price as "premium'' local filters which are made in that place everyone's trying to avoid. There was no information I could find on where the K&N was made, which is pretty typical for American products.
Looks like good quality product and an alternative to the Ryco brand. Easy installation and the nut on the end (although quite large) will make it extremely easy to remove and service the next time. Car has been running smoothly after the service for more than 2k KMs. Will buy again for sure.
Improved oil pressure over many kms where phram, acdelco etc would have diminishing oil pressure over time.Easy to remove with the welded nut. K&N seems to have quality products!
Haven't replaced an oil filter since my first car - an FJ HOLDEN, back in the 70's. Don't have the strength that I used to... even had to use a pipe to extend the ratchet spanner to get the oil plug loose! Anyway thought a nut on the end of the oil filter a good idea and paid the extra (the K&N KNPS-1008* was half the price from competitors) figuring I'd have to buy an oil filter wrench without it. However getting the old one off was difficult (the clearance on a subaru liberty is not great and had to remove a wheel to get better access), so figured I can just drill a hole in the old filter and use a screwdriver to loosen it... worked a treat! Use an adjustable wrench to turn the hex head on the filter. Worth pointing out as I've had a few mechanic types complain about the hex bit not being useful because a wrench slips off due to the taper. An adjustable wrench has worked every time for myself. As for the filter quality, great. There are others of the same quality. For hard to access filters I like using the KN filters specifically for the hex bit; it makes tightening/loosening easier.
This is an oil filter. Every time you get an oil change, you replace the oil filter as well. For any car, you are better off getting an OEM oil filter. If you have a project car that you like to take out on the weekends and just have fun, this is definitely worth having a race car build.
I do most of my own servicing. so, anything to keep the cost low is good.I also have the same make as my main air filter, which is reusable with a recharge kit which seems to work quite well.These appear to be a good type of filter as to date I've had no problems.
