We love Disney and recently watched a documentary about how an imaginer took an old erector set and modeled the soarin’ ride at Epcot one of our favorites. Both of my children love Legos but are getting bored with them I thought a change up to K'NEX set may but be the trick to get their creativity flowing again. We were very excited when we opened the box and flipped through the booklet of models to try and build. Immediately we chose a Turtle because we have 2 pet ones and began work after 15 min we were very disappointed that half of the pieces we needed were not available. I wish the box only included models you could build with pieces from the box only. I will buy more K'NEX brand items because the quality and instructions are impeccable but I do not think this specific kit includes what most people would want when they look at this to purchase. I hope the company can put more large pieces in the box in the future to make this a more fun experience.

My kids are having a blast playing with this set. They aren’t just trying to follow and build what the instructions are directing them to they are engaging their imaginations and creating many other cool things. For me, goal is accomplished! I know the pieces vary from small to very small and that it can get a bit frustrating for my 5-8-year-olds to put these projects together and/or alone. But, I like what these toys encourage; They encourage fine motor skills, creativity, problem-solving, strategizing, trial-and-error, growth mindset, help build confidence, help build resiliency and persistence, and I could probably go on but I think you get the point I’m trying to make. There are 522 pieces in this set – enough to make 35 “builds” or models of objects as ... MoreMy kids are having a blast playing with this set. This set is made for children ages 7-12. With the many pieces, your child has the option to build many things with piece-by-piece illustrated-instruction only. Though it offers no words, it is very simply illustrated on how to build and with what specific pieces. My kids are combining pieces from this set with pieces from another K’NEX set. It’s awesome. I imagine children who like playing with Legos or the like, would enjoy this set, as well.

The K'NEX Imagine - Click & Construct Value Building Set - 35 Models - Engineering Educational Toy is a 522 piece set. The variety of pieces is very good with 42 different types of pieces (with a total of 522 all together). The pieces fit together easily and the included instructions are easy to follow and in full color to match the actual pieces. The included manual has 10 Instructions: bridge, sailboat, cow, boat, robot, turtle, cat, helicopter, formula one racer, and excavator. Additional instructions to total 35 builds can be found online. One of the BIG pros of this set is that it comes in a handy orange plastic tub with a top that easily snaps on and off for storage. This box of K'Nex has endless possibilities. You can make cars or helicopters Etc. These building blocks are better than others as these are not only building blocks but they are learning tools. They help children learn about engineering and have fun at the same time. My daughter and I built the helicopter, and after she built it she had hours of fun running around the house with it pretending that it was flying. These products have brought much joy to my eight year old daughter and I hope they will bring joy to your child as well. But this product is not just for children and adults can enjoy it as well. There are lots of little pieces so it is definitely not recommended for small children under the age of 5 however I do believe that the Box says eight and up. I really enjoy this K’nex set. It comes with directions for building 10 different figures and objects, and online even more directions for more objects. The recommended age is 7-12 years of age, but my 6 year old sat down with the directions and was able to follow them and put the race car together. Some of the objects are more complicated than others, and some are simpler. You won’t be able to build multiple objects at the same time as part overlap, so you’ll have to take them apart to build you next object. The pieces that click into each other one way are easy for little 6 year old fingers. But the ones that connect a different way take more finger strength and are more difficult. This is great for building up a child’s hand strength. Then once they have an object built, they can add onto it as they see fit. And there is no limit to what they can build. That is why I really like this set as there are a lot of pieces that you can come up with your own ideas and building anything. The box the pieces come in is sturdy and able to hold some of the items you build. I think that is why the box is so big. The pieces it comes with barley covers the bottom, and there is a big push up in the bottom of the box. I like that the box is strong enough to last for storing the pieces.
I love this K'NEX Imagine - Click & Construct Value Building Set. It comes in a plastic tub with a removable lid and a booklet with instructions. There are over 500 pieces to build the 35 models as well as anything else the kids come up with.I have 3 kids, a son age 13 and girls who are 3 and 7 years old. And they will all sit in my living room together for hours building stuff. This is the best thing ever. I can hardly get them to play nice together since they are kind of far a part in ages but this set brings them together with something they all enjoy. I also love that it is hands on, no technology needed. They use their imagination and minds and hands to create something. Us they all help each other out and end up sharing the building process. The pieces are pretty durable and can be put together and taken apart easily. And you can use other sets and pieces with these. For a while they built the stuff out of the booklet then began making their own stuff including a tower and a city, using these pieces and pieces from their other sets. Literally they can play for hours and often ask to play with this while I cook dinner every night while watching a movie.I highly recommend for every family with kids. Hands on, stimulates the mind and imagination. Lots of funI did get to try this for free through the Spark review program but the opinions here are my own experience.
I received the "K'NEX Imagine - Click & Construct Value Building Set - 35 Models - Engineering Educational Toy" and my kids LOVE it! This set has kept them entertained for A LONG TIME! There are 522 classic and micro K'NEX pieces and you are able to create 35 items with the easy to understand instructions that are included. This toy is 100% made in Hatfield, Pennsylvania in the USA. I don't have to worry about my kids playing with this brand because I know I can trust this company. One of my favorite things is the tub that comes included because all the pieces go right inside when not in use! So easy to clean up!
These knex sets are excellent teaching tools for children that are into building. They can be excellent for those into engineering and math. The sets are not for small children, not only because they have a lot of parts that are very small, but because they can be quite difficult to get together the way they're supposed to be. The sets have a large number of pieces and a ton of packaging. Unfortunately the pieces are typically very small and dont take up much room, so not only is the packaging a waste, but you definitely are left feeling like you got less than what you expected. I do enjoy that some of these sets come in plastic containers that are easily used for storage later on. They are definitely way bigger and bulkier than they need to be, though. This particular set comes with the option to make 35 different models. The set does come with a very lengthy book with directions on how to assemble each of these particular models. These are a made in the USA toy which is something to consider if you want to support something like keeping our jobs here. Overall a good value and would make any kid really happy.
We set and play with the K'Nex Imagine Building set for hours. The 35 different models are incredible and we have already built seven different ones. That's the best part.. You build your own collection of vehicles, not really your own but something to that effect. The directions are easy to follow and the sizes and shapes of the pieces make it fun and interesting. What a great way to teach children.. And adults.. to take their time and do it right the first time. All of the automobiles move and they pieces are very well constructed. They have withstood a full blown tantrum, being throw against the wall and, most important, if you have a four year old that absolutely insists that square piece goes in the round hole, he isn't going to break it. K'NEX Imagine Click & Construct Value Building Set is an engineering educational toy for ages 7 to 12 years old. Packaging was standard and was received without any dents or damages. We have yet to count every piece but supposedly there are 522 colorful assortment of pieces of various shapes and sizes. The included instruction guide has 35 build models for child to follow and construct. Kids could also probably build using their imagination outside of the 35 builds in this set and create something else. You can see the child use motor skills, hand to eye coordination, and dexterity to build the various models, which is what this building set is all about. There are other sets to purchase and differ in build models but all generally do the same thing, which is to enhance the child's ability from early age to practice hand to eye coordination and introduce STEAM (science tech engineering art math).Similar to Lego but somewhat different as it's not just building blocks. It's attaching various different shaped pieces with reference to the 35 builds from the instruction guide. The instruction guide starts off it seems with simple builds such as a bridge or sailboat and progressively becomes more complex. Overall, to reduce screen time for our kids, this engineering educational building set is excellent for our kids to be challenged and creative, using their mind, eyes, and hand.
