Citrate is not only better absorbed than calcium carbonate (chalk,, literally) and won't turn into calcium pyrophosphate, which contributes to bone spurs. I use these at night when I don't want vitamin d to keep me awake.. i take magnesium glycinate with it because you really need to take them together (ratio of 2:1 preferred), but there aren't any available with that combination. The mag glycinate is much more absorbable and suitable to treat deficiencies whereas magnesium oxide isnt. The only reason I gave this 4 stars is because of the silica. If it's in a packet, that's fine, but there's no packet in the bottle so it must be in the pill.

This has been my favourite zinc supplement for quite some time now. Not only is it excellent value, but the form of zinc used in this supplement is zinc L-methionine, which is reported to be more readily absorbed than other commonly seen alternatives such as zinc picolinate and zinc citrate. It contains a gentle 15 mg zinc per serving balanced with 1 mg copper, opposed to the 30-50 mg zinc often found in other supplements. The capsules themselves are very small and easy to take with no aftertaste. Highly recommended!

So far in my search for the best calcium supplement, KAL Calcium Citrate 1000 comes out on top. It is Calcium Citrate. The tablets are pretty easy to swallow, easier than Citracal Petites by Bayer. This seems strange since the Citracal Petites are smaller, but they are square and tend to stick in my throat. The KAL tablets are longer but taper in on the ends.
