Kala Wanderer Acoustic / Electric U•BASS

What a little ripper this is! Initially I thought it was a joke ... a ukelele sized bass, wukka wukka! But 'taint no joke sound coming outta this gem. Krank it up on a good sized bass amp and POW, those rubber strings pack a chest-whacking thump. Just as good with a walking jazz bassline as it is with a straight down the line rock sequence. It's got a seriously good sound. Who'd have guessed ...

It seems like a great Ubass to start with. It feels really comfortable and I like the sound quality.

They tuner is not working. After two days of having it.

Really cool but instrument, but I don't like the magnetic backplate. It rattles madly when playing.

Saw Raul Malo of the Mavericks play his Kala U-Bass at a concert. He told the audience this Ukelele is actually a Bass. It's Rediculous! Every Bass Player is gonna' be jealous. Then he began to WOW the audience with it. After that, I HAD TO ORDER ONE. :) I also watched youtube videos of 'The Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain' using a U-Bass as the group Bass.This thing really is AWESOME!!! I agree with Raul, everyone that plays bass should have a U-Bass. :)Found out Musician's Gear Baritone Ukulele Hardshell Case Black Item #: 712789000001000 fits it almost perfectly with a little extra room in length. You might want to fill about 1/2 inch extra space in bottom bout length with some kind of padding... otherwise, it's perfect. Love the UBASS, be sure to check that all parts are working.

I purchased the UBASS as a beginner. I love it. I played it for 2 months before getting an amp and trying it out. The pickup doesnt work right. I tried to find replacement part or return options. It is proving a monumental task. So moral of the story, check out EVERYTHING before your 30 day guarantee is up. I purchased the Warranty and they dont respond. My fault for not figuring out sooner that it had issues. Overall though, I love this little bass, and I will get it fixed somewhere and continue to play

Not a good instrument

I am attempting to buy Kala U-Bass for about 2 years now. I received 6 of them in that time frame. It appears to me that Kala has a serious problem finishing their instruments. The ones that I received were all either disfunction or had marks on them.

Sweet Bass Monster!

Just like an upright Bass . Loud and True . Cant play it if you have Fat Fingers- right off the bat - its not like electric bass guitars-it's kinda a different critter .Sounds great , the electronics work well . Super fun to play on the couch and bed. It sounds perfect for those settings.
