I love cooking on the Kamado Joe III. Everything has turned out perfectly, from Pork butter, chicken thighs, reverse-seared T-bones and sirloin steaks, to spatchcocked chicken. This grill is crazy easy to adjust and maintain cooking temperatures. The sloroller has me speechless on the quality of my smoked dishes. The quality of the grill and the included accessories are first-rate and are worth the expense, compared to other ceramic grills. I'm ready to buy a second Kamado Joe now!

I recently bought this Kamado. It came with a broken hinge. The dome will not stay closed without being latched. It also will not stay put in any position. This is espescially a problem because I also bought the do Joe and jotisserie which I can’t use because the dome won’t stay closed. They have no customer service number you can call. I have emailed and chatted with them and I still have no resolution. They claim I will recieve a phone call, but it’s been days and I haven’t received anything. This may be a good product when it comes unbroken, but the poor customer service isn’t worth it. But a Big Green Egg!

I have been using a ‘big brand’ kettle for many years, in fact I sold my third to make space for this. It is a beautiful beast that is surprisingly different to use than a good kettle, but so far the results have been excellent. I had to enlist the help of a neighbour to assist in lifting it, have no doubt you’ll need at least two people to do so. BBQs2u have been faultless in help and assistance and I have subsequently bought ‘extras’ from them as their service was that good. If you haven’t used a kamado and are after one, this is definitely right up there for top choices and I know I have made the right decision.

Been waiting forever to get this grill. Finally found a place where it was in stock and available to be ordered online. Didn't know the delivery company would not come to my home because my driveway is not yet paved. (new build housing) Had to arrange to drive to a facility to have them load my grill into my truck with a forklift and then unload it (it was crated and weighed in over 500 lbs.)at home without help. Had I know this was the case I would have gone with another company to purchase this grill. But the grill is beautiful and I love using it! Just unhappy with the delivery process.
I'm glad I decided to get the Komado Joe Big Joe. This is well made and everything I have cooked on it so far has been delicious. I made the best ribs ever last weekend. I use it primarily as a smoker on the weekends and have a propane grill for use during the week when I don't get home until late. I have previously used an electric and propane smoker but I don't mind working with real fire and waiting to get it up to temperature. The best thing about the Joe is the consistent cooking heat. I do find that the temp rises about 15 degrees when hit by the HOT AZ sun, but it's no big deal. It's been much more consistent than anything else I have used. I'm still experimenting on where to place my smoking wood and how much charcoal to put in the basket. The Big Joe is ... MoreI'm glad I decided to get the Komado Joe Big Joe. I bought this grill as a birthday present for my wife, and the quality of food we've been getting out of it is nothing short of outstanding. The Classic III solves virtually every common kamado grilling difficulty a beginner can have, and with a set of tools, charcoal, and a lighter, you can pretty much grill right out of the box. That being said, a few things could be improved about the package (I'm going to nitpick given the price point):1. The included instructions are threadbare. Clearly one is expected to research what you need to know online, but I like to read manuals and see diagrams. I hate watching a 15-minute YouTube video trying to find 10 seconds-worth of information. So, better printed materials, please. There is zero information about using the ... There is zero information about using the Slow Roller included with the Classic III.2. The divide and conquer capabilities are useful, but reconfiguring the grill (especially when it's hot) can be an absolute pain. The grill halves are difficult to align for any height lower than the absolute top level, and even with very thick heat-resistant gloves, my hands can get uncomfortably hot before I can properly lower a rack from a higher to lower position.3. The top vent sticks easily after a few low and slow smokes and must be cleaned often. Without regularly cleaning, it frequently won't open at all unless the grill is hot!4. It should come with touch up paint. (It costs 5 dollars and goes out of stock frequently.)I'm a huge fan otherwise and would strongly recommend this grill to anyone looking to start charcoal grilling and/or smoking.
I have had the Big Joe III for a little less than a month and I am already amazed by the flavors created by the grill. The simple combination of fire, smoke, salt, protein, and fat create magic beneath the dome the Kamado dome. I have cooked beef, pork, chicken, and fish and in each instance the finished product has had that kissed with smoke flavor that adds an element of depth to the food. The versatility of the Big Joe is awesome. I have grilled with high heat, cooked with indirect low heat, smoked meat, used the Joetisserie. I have yet to try baking but it is on my list to give it a shot. With the addition of an elevated rack I am ready to tackle a big backyard BBQ this summer. I will add be adding on the Do Joe at some point this summer as well.I am so happy ... Anyone in the market for an outdoor grill should think twice before they invest in a gas/propane grill. The versatility alone will save you from investing in additional cooking tools. Don't overthink your decision! Do the right thing and buy yourself a Kamado Joe and you won't regret your decision!!! JoeKnows how to help you create culinary magic!
So I asked a relative who has a commercial smoking rig, what I needed to get to start smoking meat. His answer was unequivocal - Kamado Joe. So for father's day last year (yeah, right, we got it end of July) the grill is delivered. Life has not been the same.We got the Big Joe III, maybe a little much but when you start talking the top of the line, do you *really* want to get that one party or holiday gathering or whatever where you wish you would have just gotten the bigger one? Was not going to happen to me!The performance has been spectacular ... a few lessons learned on my part but if you just think things through and watch the 1000s of youtube videos on the subject, you really have no excuse for messing up. From chicken to pork to brisket - some of the best meals we have eaten ... and dial it up a notch to reverse seared ribeye and you cannot justify any expensive steakhouses again - its too good at home.Only downsides for me have been minor adjustments to the latch (but worth it cuz the seal is absolutely air tight) and the occasional spring popping out ... easy to put it back in. Also, I would love if somebody has a quick'n'easy way of dealing with the "sticky top vent" issue ... generally I take it off and drop it on the ground to get it loose : cleaning it is a beast but a must do to keep too much build up from accumulating. The other challenge is the weight of this beast : getting it in the garage when I leave the house for extended periods is not particularly easy. If you are getting one of the "big joe" models, plan on pretty much keeping it wherever you put it and not moving it more than a few feet, absolutely no rough surfaces.
I love my KJBJ3. The first one I received was slightly cracked, it was replaced immediately. My second one recently had a neighbors tree fall on it, as well as demolish a new shed, fence, and dining set. Insurance replaced that one, and there is something to say about the brand and product. I use mine all the time. I referred my neighbors to them, now there are several in the neighborhood(5 as of writing this) and we have cook-offs frequently. I have all the accessories and it is amazing that you can go from a pizza oven, to a rotisserie to smoking in minutes. The versatility and quality are second to none. The way it holds heat, circulates smoke, has an efficient burn and ember, I am a strong believer! Love experimenting with various lump charcoals from KJ's own, ... MoreI love my KJBJ3. I purchased a propane grill this year, hated that it didn't have the charcoal taste so I purchased a cheaper charcoal grill and I was happy to get that smoked flavor back. I gave away the propane grill then purchased the Big Joe III. Oh my God! This baby holds the heat, steadily over a extended period of time. I grilled a baby back rib and chicken wingettes for my wife and the food turned out super delicious. I love it so much, I just purchased a Classic I to replace my cheaper charcoal grill. I am sold and now I will have two Kamado Joes to grill accordingly.
