I bought this after seeing a good review in Choice. I switched it on to remove the initial chemical smell and could see immediately that it could not toast evenly. The centre elements were not as bright and hot as those on the sides. As I predicted the toast I tried was cooked on one side and barely on the other. It also burnt the top of the toast. After trying 4 pieces of bread with the same results I took it back for a refund. My very old Sunbeam which I was hoping to replace is not perfect but does a better job. After reading many product reviews of other toasters of all prices I see uneven toasting is a common complaint for many toasters. Why? So I'm staying with my old toaster.

Unfortunately only seems to toast properly on one side, have to remove and turn bread around if want it evenly toasted. Not sure if I am able to return it as don't have box etc.
Purchased the toaster together with the Kambrook Pour with ease 1.7 Litre Kettle, great little toaster which suits our needs (only used approximately once a week), toasts evenly and the opening is wide enough for those thicker slices.
Trying to look for a stylish and cheap toaster was surprisingly difficult until I came across this little gem. Toasts very well and doesn't take up too much counter space. Wish it came in black but this will do. Very even toasting. *have not yet tested waffles/bagels or anything other than sliced bread
Cheap and cheerful. This toaster does was it claims. It makes two slices of toast fairly evenly . Its a sturdy little toaster and looks good too.
A toaster easy to operate, good toast and very good price. I bought more expensive brands over years, somehow this toaster has better value and outcome.
