Kärcher SC2 Easyfix Steam Cleaner

I used one of these back in the early 90s for car valet work and always commented on how good it was. I decided to give the new style machine a try as we had some pretty dirty carpets. It was a decision well made. The machine performs perfectly and it leaves the carpets just a little damp to touch which dries very quickly. The vacuum is not so harsh as to make it difficult to manoeuvre the wands on the carpet or car seats but its enough to instantly pull out the diluted no nonsense carpet cleaner which leaves a very pleasing fresh smell and an instantly visible clean subject

Great machine. Does the job, you still work up a sweat using it tho, its hard work. My dogs got fleas, shdnt have as were on drops from vets and Id tried spraying the carpets and hoovering etc but to no avail. Did more research and apparently when fleas are at pupae stage they are notoriously difficult to kill and its recommended to clean carpets. I bought the Karcher because of its suction action and cleaned all the carpets and resprayed. I am finally shut of the blighters thanks to the Karcher. And i can clean the carpets whenever I want to now. Really glad I bought it. The price was the cheapest I had seen too.

Does a good job, but not blown away by it.

Having tested this out, I will say that yes it’s good, and does the job quite well but I wasn’t blown away by it. I’m a big fan of Karcher, so had high hopes for my first steam cleaner. The pros are that it makes cleaning the shower, windows, walls etc much easier. The attachments are good and do what they say they will, the little nozzle was good around the taps and the bristles are firm enough to dislodge anything you come across. It’s easy to use, has a safety feature on the nozzle to make sure it’s safe to put down and move bits around etc, and the large pad manoeuvres well around corners and into nooks and crannies. I realised that the spray can be a bit sporadic, and the unit is back into “heating up” mode when there’s no steam, so it’s quite a bit of “do a bit - wait a bit”, this is fine when you have the attachments and can see the flow but not so much if you have the floor cleaner on, so you’re checking the light every few minutes to see if you’re still good. Yes it’s leaves windows wet, but I have the Karcher window vacuum so followed up with that and they came up beautifully. I used the smaller pad to go over my sofa, not sure if that’s what you’re supposed to use it for, but it worked well and didn’t leave my sofas damp at all... it felt good knowing that I can clean the parts you can’t throw in the washing machine. Overall I’d say it’s good, just not fantastic, but maybe my expectations were too high, I have a few things I was hoping the steam cleaner would help shift, water marks in the bathroom etc... but it didn’t make much of a difference, perhaps a few more rotations and it’ll work. It also doesn’t hold enough water or have enough accessories to do more than a few jobs around the house, so it’s either pick a job (I.e windows / walls / fabrics) or pick a room, but as far as I can see you couldn’t give your house a thorough deep clean once a month say, this would be a few jobs at once, then wash everything and move onto the next jobs later

First Impressions EXCELLENT steam cleaner

I am very impressed on first Impressions basis. Have to say the high power setting is excellent, it does exactly what it says on the tin. It has removed dirt from tiles I never knew was there. I cleaned the shower and all the tedious parts of the door so quickly.Floors dont dry instantly, but a lot quicker than mopping would.I ordered the carpet glider from another website. A little annoyed it is not included.I was worried the SC2 would be lacking in power, almost spent more money on SC3, glad I didn't.I did find I had to stop every now and again for the water to reheat itself but this took less than a minute each time so no hassle there.The tank is huge, holds a litre of water, and with that the (small) bathroom got a deep clean, and it covered the hallway and ... MoreI am very impressed on first Impressions basis. I really love my SC2 kärcher steam cleaner!

I have gave this steam cleaner a go after being impressed by the performance of the WV5 window vac ❤️.I have tried steam cleaners before and found them flimsy and not as effective as advertised and fell apart when elbow grease was applied.However I do like the clever eco way of cleaning. Will it effect the appliance?

What a waste of money. It's actually a dangerous unit. Steam doesn't last long. You cannot open it to refill as it's a hazard to hands. Then waiting for it to heat every few minutes. No from me. I did get a refund.

Review of KARCHER SC 2 EasyFix Steam Cleaner - White & Black

The Karcher steam cleaner was bought specifically to clean grouting in a quadrant shower cubicle which had become black with mould caused by condensation.Not only did it clean away most of the mould off the grouting and tiles it also did a very good job removing the build up of soap scum from the curved wheel track. This is excellent because it's difficult to clean the track with a cloth. The Karcher cleared most of it away with the power of steam.The tank holds 1 litre of water which lasts quite a long time while you are cleaning.You do need to keep going over the area to be cleaned but the results are worth it.

Very Efficient and Eco-Friendly

I have been very pleasantly surprised after buying this steam cleaner to clean the tiled areas in my house.Where the unit really shines is in the bathroom, specifically in the shower. On initial use, the chemical smell was incredibly strong as the residue from previous cleaners was removed. However after this initial clean, my shower is free of any odour, and can be quickly cleaned once a week with the detail head for the grout and the mop head for everything else.The reservoir cap locks so that when the unit is pressurized it cannot be removed to prevent being scalded, however it still becomes incredibly hot - too hot to touch.The reservoir is sufficient for a small apartment however the process to refill is quite slow as it requires depressurizing the unit ... MoreI have been very pleasantly surprised after buying this steam cleaner to clean the tiled areas in my house.Where the unit really shines is in the bathroom, specifically in the shower. I cannot recommend this unit highly enough.

Wish I'd Got One Sooner

I don't like strong chemicals but I do enjoy keeping things clean, that's what prompted me to get one, and now I wonder why I didn't check these things out years ago, I probably considered them gimmicky, but after using this many times now, I really love it. It gets into all those hard to reach places where muck likes to hide, easily melts the muck off. I already had a clean house before using this, at least I thought I did. it's reached a new level of freshness. It's are pretty much foolproof to use: open cap, add water, close cap, connect power, it boils, then you're ready to go. plus it's really easy to put the water into it, the opening is sort of like a funnel. good quality too. all the parts are. 1 liter of water turns into a very surprisingly large volume of steam that lasts for a considerably long amount of cleaning time. It doesn't leave things too-moist (unless you keep it in one spot for a while) besides it's usually hot enough to evaporate on it's own on most things, but you can follow up with a rag in your other hand to quickly give surfaces a finishing touch, just don't shoot yourself in the hand with it. (it would probably take a sustained stream closer than a few inches to do any real harm, but a short glancing burst doesn't linger all that long to cause concern. I haven't burnt myself yet, anyway there's a lock on the nozzle to make sure can't accidentally trigger) well, if you're someone who likes cleaning thoroughly then you'll be glad to have this. and I'd recommend that you don't skimp on such a device by just settling on some cheap alternative, be sure you get as good a unit as you can possibly afford as it will definitely be worth it, I'd heard this one was a good brand, After my experiences with it I can confirm that. Literally one of the best things I ever bought, I don't normally review things but for this, it's well-deserved.
