Kärcher - Steam Mop SC 2 Upright

Steam mop arrived in good order. Enjoy the clean floors that are disinfected from the steam heat. Steam mops are heavy to use, and I didn't expect it; it breaks me out in sweat whenever I mop the floor. I thought it would make my life easier but no.. it takes a lot of effort and energy to push the heavy steam mop around. Each water refill last me for 2 rooms only. No spare mop cloth provided. But glad that floor is indeed very clean.

After an exchange of emails, I was given the following advice, pasted from their email:“ Unfortunately, those microfiber cloth must be washed alone in the washing machine without detergent and at 40 degrees.”I had been using detergent and washing the cloths along with several other items. Surely, in this day and age, a supposedly reputable company such as Karcher does not expect us to spend water and electricity on a load just for a single steam mop cloth? Streaky floor.On top of that, one of the cable retaining clips has split.This is a very substandard product and has been my last Karcher purchase.

Disappointing

We had our last steam mop (different brand) for over 10 years. I doubt this one will last 10 months before I replace it with a better one. It is difficult to use, moves only backwards and forwards with ease, there is a lot of resistance on side to side movement. The need to hold the steam trigger continuously is uncomfortable and means my wife will not be able to use due to her arthritis. The cable is not long enough and an extension is needed. Spare pads are expensive. Disappointed, not as good as expected based on other Karcher products.

Easy and efficient!

This kartcher sc2 upright steam cleaner has revolutionised my cleaning regime! I wish I had got one sooner. Total peace of mind knowing that the steam not only cleans, but also disinfects and sanitises. Which, during this pandemic is a extra peace of mind. My floor is now gleaming, but most importantly, is not harboring any nasty germs. The sc2 upright is so easy to use, maintain and store. It's light weight means that it's easy to carry around the house, yet heavy enough that you don't need to apply alot of pressure for it to clean properly. Heats up very quickly and it's ready to get to work almost instantly (well within a minute). It holds enough water to do the 2 floors I need it too, and you can tell it is a quality, well made, piece of equipment. A couple of tips... Don't use fabric softener when washing the micro fibre pads. Definitely make use of the descaling cartridges, especially if you're in a hard water area like myself.I'm absolutely in love with my kartcher, and can't believe I went without one for so long. Would definitely recommend.

Easy to use

We purchased this a month or two ago to replace a cheaper multi-function steam cleaner that my partner was never too keen on. Setting this mop up for the first time was easy but instructions weren't clear on how long it took for the steam to pull through the first time you use it. It sounded like an asthmatic dog for a good minute or so and nothing seemed to be happening. But once steam pulled through it was fine. Easy to use. Easy to refill. Feels like a solid machine. Ordered online and got a two year warranty. A tad expensive but you get what you pay for as the cheap Bush multi-function steam cleaner didn't last that long given the limited use. We use it on a tiled floor and an LVT floor. The two settings, tile and wood, work well for us in this environment. Some reviews mention the machine leaving the floor too wet. The trigger on the handle allows you to deploy as much or as little steam that is required so we haven't experienced this issue. 4 stars simply because of the set up issue and it is quite expensive with limited features. But if you want a floor mop without the option to refresh carpets / upholstery and/or clean worktops / tiles etc then this certainly does the job.

Easy to use with great results

I bought this recently to replace another brand which had broken down after a relatively short period of time and so far, I'm very pleased with my Karcher. It seems like a very robust machine and certainly produces more steam and at a higher temperature than anything I've used before. It is very easy to fill with tap water, and is supplied with an anti scale cartridge. I have bought a spare because I don't know how long it will last. I think you need more than the one microfibre floor pad which is supplied, especially if you have several floors to clean, as they get quite damp and a bit grubby, so they need replacing, although they're easy to wash. Great mop

I had another brand steam mop that suddenly stopped working, so I needed a replacement. I am very happy with the Kaercher steam mop. It's easier to refill, as the water reservoir can be removed and taken to the tap to fill and empty. It also has a filter included, so I do not have to worry about the mop becoming blocked. It isn't constant steam either, so I can pause without worrying about damaging the floor with a constant jet of steam on it. Personally, I find the switch for the steam little hard, and my hand becomes uncomfortable, but I think that is a personal issue, not a standard problem. The mop also doesn't have a 'click' that holds itself upright, which is a little annoying, but it does stand rested against the wall easily enough. More controllable steam than previous two brands

Steam comes strongly when the lever is pressed. Previous brands provide steam when the device decides. Tips : on first use the instructions say you might have to press for up to 3 minutes to get steam. Mine took over five minutes. I had nearly given up and was going to send it back but had one last long try. Since then it has warmed quickly and given immediate steam on pressing the trigger. Buy extra mop heads and cartridges when purchasing to avoid later delivery charges unless you have a local supplier.

Really impressed

I have used this steam mop a few times since it arrived. Very well built and exceptional value for money (I bought on an offer). I find that the cable length is fine, even though I do have to change plugs quite often as I mainly have wood laminate and tiled flooring. I don't mind as the cleaner is so good! Equally good on both floor types. I do agree that it should come with two cloths, but the one it comes with velcro's to the foot of the cleaner which concerned me at first, but is a really strong attachment. Does get extremely grubby which shows how good it is! I soak in a solution of soda crystals before wasing and then put on a 60 degree wash and it comes out and dries like new! Very shallow foot which is great as it fits under a lot of my heavy furniture. I ... MoreI have used this steam mop a few times since it arrived. Review of KARCHER SC 2 Upright EasyFix Steam Mop - Yellow

Previous mop of a different brand calcified and stopped working very quickly. This one has a filter in the water tank and we’re using deionised water now. This one does a great job much better than previous one. Detachable tank makes filling easy. Detachable pads are easy to change and wash. A little on the heavy side but sturdy.
