Always the best

Not my first Kask Protone. This Icon is even better then the first edition. Very good fit, accurate sizing from the italian company.I love the matte black as well.Bikeinn, always fast en reliable service with good prices!Thanks!

Avoid the mushroom head

Moving from a giro helmet - I wanted something that was a bit more aero but maintaining protection and not looking like a prophylactic… couldn’t be happier. Yes, it’s a bit pricey but the quality is excellent and the features (really good fit and finish) are worth it in my opinion. Quick delivery as always from Sigma.

Don't like the new version

I heard about Kask Protone for a long time. A lot of my bike friends are wearing them. When my old helmet cracked, it is time to buy the Protone. It happens the new version Icon is on sale lab day weekend. And Mikes delivered so fast. I was very happy to receive the new helmet. But when I try on , I notice the new OCTOFIT+ adjustment system dial is so stiff but the vertical stabilizer is so loss, slides up and down. I think I like the old Protone better.

Great helmet but not without faults.

This is my everyday helmet that I bought as an all rounder, and I have a few hundred miles in it now. It wasn?t as comfortable as I was let to believe it would be, but it?s not bad. I think it?s a shape problem and the back of the retention system digging into the back of my head. Also, the removable cushions tore out the Velcro holding them in place when I removed them to wash. Definitely not something that should happen with a helmet this expensive. Thankfully I managed to stick the Velcro back down, but I?m not sure if this is a real solution yet. At this moment, I feel like the helmet is pretty cool (temp), decently comfortable, semi-aero, but you?re paying mostly for aesthetic with the price as compared to other brands? helmets with equal features.

Great update

A great update ,to an already exceptional helmet. I always liked the look of the original, but the more squareish design elements bring it in line with the current trends without changing the overall look too much. The adjustment dial feels sturdier now, although I liked the previous one because the dial was more exposed and easier to adjust with gloves or numb fingers. I feel it sits a slight bit wider than the original Protone, so if you fall in between two sizes (58cm for example) and the original was slightly too small, it might be worth sizing down for this one (depending on the shape of your skull, of course).

Kask Protone Helmet - Highly recommended

This is the second Kask helmet I have purchased and, having tried offerings from numerous other brands, have to say that it will take an awful lot to shift my allegiances. The fit is slightly bigger than I expected (only a touch) but in terms of aesthetics and comfort, the helmet suits my needs perfectly. No mushroom head/pea on a drum visuals, the helmet sits low and seems to surround my head, this may not be to everyone’s taste but I felt secure and it certainly did not interfere with vision (or with the glasses I wear).Wind noise was less than with my Vertigo (a bonus) and the adjustments meant I could easily get a secure and comfortable fit. Protone

Semi Aero not for hot days

in a temperature range from 10 to 30 degrees this would be fine. i have a large Jaw and the lack of adjustablility of the straps meant that the fasteners were uncomfortable. the clasps and the chin strap are in my opinion too big; thin straps are all you need. No Mips! finally the front padding is substantial andwould in time fill with sweat, something i don't like. Fit for an oval head is VERY good. If you don't sweat excessively, this is a great helmet, although i don't think the aero claims are really as good as are claimed. I have not ridden with this helmet.

The latest version of cyclings best helmet

A matte white Protone Icon replaces my original Protone in gloss black (I like the classics). The old version protected me in a head on collision with a windscreen but it needed to be replaced. The Icon is a nice upgrade, sharper lines, better finish. The internals are much nicer, the pads look and feel better quality and the adjustable gizmo on the back is upgraded too. The name says it all, I think the Protone deserves the name Icon, it’s still the coolest lid on the ProTour.
