Kask Valegro WG11 Helmet Red - S
The aim with the Valegro Road Cycling Helmet (WG11) was to engineer a helmet with optimal levels of ventilation but without compromising on safety. To achieve this aim the Valegro is made using patented MIT Technology. MIT uses a polycarbonate shell fuzed to an impact-absorbing inner EPS liner. By directly joining the layers together shock absorption is improved. At the same time, this engineered solution has allowed Kask to give the Valegro 37 vents without effecting strength and protection. With it's highly vented design air is able to rush inside and warm, damp air easily exhausts to the rear. A highly breathable and quick-wicking interior pad system sees head to pad contact reduced by 70% facilitating even more airflow to your scalp, keeping you cooler as you turn up the power. WG11 Safety Test The Valegro passes the stringent WG11 test. This focuses on protection from rotational impact forces, measuring rotational kinematics from both oblique and normal impacts. With this safety test passed, you can be sure the Valegro has you covered should you be unfortunate enough to fall from your bike. Kask Octo-Fit The Kask Octo-Fit offers both excellent security and a precise fit. A rubberized Micro Dial adjuster provides an improved finger grip for adjustment. Floating cradle contact and supports are designed to oscillate freely through 180° allowing a perfect fit on any shaped head. The Skeletal Brackets of the cradle have been designed and refined to provide the best fit and support whilst being as light as possible. Resistex padding Fast-wicking and quick-drying Resistex padding draws moisture away from your head to keep you drier as your more intense efforts create heat and sweat. This works with the engineered airflow to boost all-ride comfort and the pads are washable to ensure freshness.

I bought this a month ago to replace my second protone. I wanted a protone again (both times they have amazingly saved me from nasty head injury) but the discounted ones (they are a bit too much full price) seemed to be out of stock everywhere. I vacillated for ages about changing to a valegro but took the plunge as I desperatly needed a non cracked helmet. Its amazing, fits as beautifully as my old prontones and is more airy. I cant really notice if it is lighter than protone, or whether its less aero. I have noticed the difference with the lack of the front cushion pad tho. Always used to get very sweaty there but noticed as more air gets in at the front it feels breezier and less sweaty. Super high Kask quality as expected. Loving the grey colour too.

I’ve had this now for a month or so and used it many times.Ventilation is the best I’ve used and even better that a previous helmet that I thought was good. With the weather changing so much I’ve already used in all conditions from cold, warm, wind and rain. It works well in all conditions, though due to ventilation I really needed a scoll cap when it was cold. The helmet is comfortable an adjustment is good. It’s super light, with other helmets you can sense you have one on as you move your head around, this is so light you can’t really sense it apart from knowing and feeling the straps. I used it on a 100mile plus ride, very comfortable and had not fatigued or feeling like all I want is to get it off!

I'm pleased that I opted for the same model I had five years ago. The current version not only maintains its lightweight design but also offers improved comfort, making it a worthwhile and satisfying purchase.

Purchased from Sigma - this helmet lives up to the positive reviews its gets: the adjustment mechanisms are of superior quality to other ones I own. I particularly like the band that can be fitted across the back of the head and it’s very cool on hot rides. The removable foam band across the forehead enhances the venting too. A great decision and the usual swift service from Sigma.
Originally got a POC Ohme Spin in M but it was too tight near the temples. Although the M and L are supposed to over lap in size the large was way too big even with the retention system at max so took back and tried other helmets on. This was much more comfortable, is super lightweight and the retention system more adjustable. The leather chin strap is really comfortable and feels of high quality.Would highly recommend.Service at Sigma was as always really good and easy to manage returns and get advice on the new helmet.
This is a great helmet. Fits well and has a removable, velcro pad at the front in order to create more room or let in more air through the front vents in the summer. The adjuster at the back works well and doesn't come loose. Also very light.
Perfect for hot and humid weather especially if you're not all about being aero. Chin strap is comfortable but material flakes off after a while. Do ensure to wash the chin strap after every ride to preserve it. If you're delivering it to South East Asia, it'll take 4 - 5 weeks from ordering to delivery. I have this in Matt black, love it so much that I had to get a white one.
Please note this review is based upon the fit and finish of the helmet, I didn't get to ride it! I purchased this as I wanted a cooler lid for the French Alps. I am a huge fan of the Kask Protone which fits me like a glove, but is a bit warm for summer in the mountains. The Valegro is noticeably lighter and significantly more ventilated than the Vertigo and the quality of the materials and finish is as high as ever from Kask. However, the fit was really odd on me - so much so I had to return it to Sigma without getting to ride it. The Valegro sits higher on the head than a Protone and I could just not get it to sit right, the front of the helmet dug into my forehead as I had to tighten it too much to get a secure fit.So, it's a great looking lid and no doubt very ... MorePlease note this review is based upon the fit and finish of the helmet, I didn't get to ride it! But, the fit will be very rider specific as with every helmet I guess!) so try before you buy, if you can.
For some time I was in two minds whether to buy this helmet. I have a Protone that is brilliant but Sigma were selling it for a good price and I decided to try it for a couple of trips in very warm weather.I am extremely glad that I did. It is extremely light, very comfortable (though obviously best to try it first and not take my word!) and most importantly it has exceptional ventilation.I used it in the mountains in the back country of Nice in temperatures in the mid 30s and then in mountains around Bormio with similar temperatures on the Mortirolo, Gavia and Stelvio. I hardly noticed the helmet, just undoing the strap on the ascents although it is a very comfortable synthetic ‘leather’. I would highly recommend this helmet for those summer trips or roasting ... MoreFor some time I was in two minds whether to buy this helmet. I bought this helmet as a present for my wife to replace her older one and she loves it. The Valegros are incredibly light, the padding is comfortable, the adjustments let her fine tune the fitting. Highly recommended.
