We tried a bunch of different brands and their waterproof hiking shoes and most were too narrow until we tried these. They fit a bit wider, the tongue opens up well so it's easy to put the shoe on, and they keep the kids feet dry!

My son (age 8) wore this shoe for about six weeks. In that time, we had to fix the cord four times. The cord comes right off the clasp when the child pulls to tighten it. It is simply bad design; the cord wears off prematurely or the clasp/fastener cannot handle the stretch of the bungee cord. I contacted KEEN customer service - online chat agent gave me a standard 'thanks for sharing your feedback' response; it got escalated and the e-mail agent said we'll consider if you fill out our online warranty form.....I'm too tired to being bounced around. This is a bad product PERIOD. Plus the insole is thin and useless (I bought a separate insole).

I wear womens size 8.5 and the big kids size 6 fit fine. I broke them in on a five mile hiking trail on snow with Ininji five toe socks and yaktrax over the shoes. I was prepared for sore feet or blisters, but I had neither. I thought they were very comfortable. There weren’t any internal seams poking at my feet.

My son never liked Keen shoes in the past, but we wanted to try it again. We wanted to buy his next size up so we had the shoe in our possession, however his typical brand is no where to be found. So we tried this specific shoe (I love Keen shoes myself). To my surprise, he said he loved it. He liked how comfy it is and how there is air flow into the shoe from the top of the shoe. It does run big, which he wanted for next year, but he will grow into it. If he is happy, then I am happy and Keen is always a brand that I would trust.
The shoes are comfortable and fashionable. I bought them for our trip out west and I was pleasantly surprised to find that these shoes are water resistant! While everyone else had wet socks, my feet were nice and dry. Awesome shoes and a great price!
These hikers fit my son great and he says they’re very comfortable. Kept his feet dry doing a wet/muddy hike. Couldn’t be happier!

My spouse is a small lady and finds youth shoes better fitting than woman's shoes. In the past Keens have fit well, small but wide toe box. These shoes fit terribly; not just a narrow toe box but no contour for one's foot. But perhaps the most notable aspect is that they are stiffer than my circa 1980 mountaineering boots with full steel shank. Could not even keep them on for 5 minutes walking around the house. Back they go.
Two of my children have had these shoes. They find them very comfy and great for hiking and daily use but they wear out much faster than I would expect.Will be searching for a new option when we replace them.
My kid loves these shoes, they lasted a total of 4 months before the lace hold tore and the back strapping came off. Bummer.
